The face of the old, "honest" era standing his ground against the new generation of wildness which wants to break down the confines. Even if the old guard wins the match, it can't win the people over anymore.

A heel turn in the direct sense isn't needed, the reactions speak for themselves. Although Cena will have to be brutal and "betray" himself to keep up.
