Wrestlemania XXIV: Playboy Bunny Match

What? Did you not catch Candice's matches with Beth and her later matches with Melina? Did you not see Beth and Mickie's matches? Have you not seen Beth's house show matches with Mickie and Candice? They were great, and I'm not just saying that. These are women who can put on good matches, but it's not shown in the WWE.

From what some sites say, the original WM plan was Candice vs. Mickie vs. Beth for the title and Maria/Ashley vs. Jillian/Melina in BunnyMania. But Ashley got injured and WWE had to redo plans. The current plan is/was (now) for Candice to score the pinfall at Mania and re-ignite her title feud with Beth. But with Candice injured again. one has to wonder how long she'll be out and how serious it is? Also, how will this affect Beth? Will WWE have her hold the title even longer or will she drop it, and with that dropping her feud with Candice, which WWE wants to keep going for a long time,and then place Candice in a feud with Lea (WWE's booked her and Phoenix to tag with each other, so they can practice Candice vs Lea).

The match will suck for sure now. Had WWE saved Candice's in-ring return for WM, then at least she would've been slightly injured there and not have to worry about getting too physical afterwards.

The only way WWE can keep Candice vs. Beth going, is to have Candice manage Mickie (or Maria- please no though!) so fans can know that the two aren't over.

I have never seen why your so into Candice Michelle Look I give her credit that for a plastic ex porn star (and when you pose naked for stuff you are lol) she has taken the bumps and done things that not many women would do. On the other hand though, she is worthless in the ring and much of talent that WWE pushes is. You can go on and on how you want the Candice/ Beth feud to re ignite and well who wants to see that? Many wrestling fans dont as Candice actually having the upper hand and beating beth for the gold is ridiculous and devalues a worthless belt any more as you get a person like Candice who is only in the WWE due to her plasticsness and no ring skill whatsoever to be champion.

But back to this match who gives a shit about really? You know the heels wont win as the skimpy little divas that cant wrestling but sure can take their clothes off will win. For me its nothing more than a piss break and most fans be more into Snoop at ringside then the match. Hopefully it wont last long and we see Santino get laid out by Mr. Snoop-e-Dogg

On WWE.com it's been verified that Candice has successfully undergone surgery to fix her broken clavicle. She'll be at WrestleMania in a managerial role and the WWE will enact their contingency plan which was to place Mickie James in her spot.

According to the article she chose to have the surgery since it would allow for a speedier recovery then if she didn't. She will have a plate inserted into the injured area. According to the article with the plate in place, Candice will be able to start the rehab process for her broken clavicle immediately after the surgery.

Things go from bad to worse as far as this match. I still see the bunnies winning this match, just because they did playboy and looks for some reason in WWE get you further than strength and talent. If Beth and Melina loose, I for one will have lost all faith in the Women's division. There is no way that Ashley, let alone Maria can beat Melina and Beth unless it's by some stupid rollup... *sigh* I said it in the Raw Discussion... I am one happy guy for not ordering this show. This match will probably be THE worst of the night...

You may not like Candice or some of the work she has done, but there are people who do. You find her worthless, but there are people who see the women as exciting to watch and there are people who can see that the women is still improving and of course won't be at pro-level yet.

Onto the match though, it just went from bad to worse. Of all people, they replace Candice will Ashley. Kim Kardashian would've been a better replacement.

Mickie may have done some dirty photos and stuff but she actually CAN wrestle a match against men and women. Not hating on them if they do some porn but Candice is and forever will be a plastic bimbo in the ring like Shelly Martinez and Ashely. I completly agree with you. The fact of the matter is that for a lot of people on this board, if a woman don'T look like a wrestler or doesn'T have years of experience in the ring, they will always say that they are worthless and don'T have any talent. That why a lot of people considered Candice as no talent bimbo. But the fact is that she is improving and does a lot of move that she wouldn'T have been able to pull off a couple of years ago. She got a natural talent for wrestling and after a couple of years of being in the ring with people like Beth Phoenix and Mickie James she might be a really good wrestler.

Now for the match itself, i hate the fact that Ashley will be the replacement for Candice simply because she a awful wrestler. Last year they had to cut short here match because it was horrible. When Candice was involve in this match, i actually predicted that Candice and MAria would win but now that Ashley is in this match, i wouldn'T be surprised if MElina and Beth wins this match. The fact is that besides Torrie and SAble winning there match at wrestlemania 20, not one playboy cover girl won their match at wrestlemania so if you go with that logic it kinda make you think that MAria doesn'T have a chance of winning this match.

This Match just got even Worse. Simply just cause Ashley is in it. Its just gonna be a repeat of last year and what happened to her hand injury? I thought that would keep her gone for a while.

If they were gonna pick another Playboy girl to replace Candice why not pick Torrie. Sure she isn't the best but she a Decent Wrestler. At least she is better pick than Ashley Or They Could Have Picked Mickie James who has great ability in the ring

One would think that Maria and Ashley stand next to no chance against Melina and Beth, but we all do know how WWE works. It's pretty much tradition that the playboy girls get a shot at the title, although they don't always win it. However Candice did, and I'm not too sure if Ashley did or not. However every playboy girl after Torrie got a push towards the title, including Christy Hemmie. So it really doesn't matter wether or not Maria and Ashley win, I still full on expect Maria to get a push towards the title. The match itself, I said it yesterday should by all means be a disaster. I can also see it being a squash though. Beth has crushed both Maria and Ashley on her own before in really squash matches, so there is no reason to really believe that Wrestlemania will be any different. I did read that Candice will be at ringside during the match. That leads me to belieive that she will most likley be the cause of Maria and Ashley winning, should they win.

This match will not be that good, but one positive is that now the heels will probably win. But nobody should be surprised by that because if you look at past history, the Playboy Diva usually loses, just as much as they win. Look at Ashley and Christy, they were in actual matches, and both lost. Now that Ashley is in this match instead of Candice, expect Beth and Melina to go over because Ashley is not in the best of standing right now in WWE and the only reason she is here is because it is called Bunnymania, so they couldn't input Mickie James, which is a shame because her and Beth can actualy put on a good match.

Who did Mickie James piss off? I mean seriously she is at least in my opinion the most talented female that wwe has. Two years ago she beat Trish at Mania and crazy stalker thing made for some really good television. Then last year she lost the title to Melina on a botched move and then somehow Ashley got the title match at Mania? Now they put on what was looking like a very good underdog story with her to the point where you knew she was about to flip into that crazy psycho again but then maria does playboy and candice gets the ok to wrestle and without having a match in months gets a mania match. Then she gets hurt her first match back and they throw Ashley in there who hasnt had a match except for a pillow fight in a year, can't wrestle and was sent home for being in bad shape weeks before, not to mention hadn't been seen on tv in like 6 weeks. So basically I conclude with who did Mickie piss off, because there is even a precedent for having a playboy thing and the women's title defended at the same mania

i think it's a good thing mickie's not in this match. at least she can have some credibility. i hope they dont put the bunnies over because it's just not buyable. look at the two girls they're facing...beth and melina, two of the top wrestling divas in the company vs ashley and maria. even santino's had more ring time than those two.

Now that we know Santino isn't in the battle royal (he and Big Daddy V are conspicuously absent, but Hacksaw is in it...weird lol) then I'm assuming that his whole role this WrestleMania will be to interfere in this horrible match. Maybe that'll be the one iota of entertainment that this match ends up facilitating, since Santino has more entertainment in a single promo than Maria's and Ashley's (and Candice's for that matter) wrestling skills combined.

However, since he scored the pin on Maria on Raw this week, this just means that Santino will try to screw Maria out of the match, but it'll backfire and Maria will get to pin Melina or Beth by proxy, giving her team the "illustrious" victory. Not even Santino or Melina can save this from being more than a glorified piss break.

God this is just terrible. So the WWE effectively has killed the Cruiserweight Division, could they please focus their attention to this shame of a division known as the WWE Diva's? Have the Divas ever put on one great Wrestlemania match, wait, I'll lower the bar, have they put on one good match at Mania that didn't involve Mickie James and Trish Stratus?

The answer of course is no. This match is crap, that division is crap, and unfortunately this will be the second to last match of the evening instead of being on the free for all where it belongs.

Bathroom break time for me. Sorry Vince, but in a day and age when I can see the kinkiest porn anyone could ever imagine at the click of a mouse, I am not interested in seeing horrible actresses/Playgirl models wrestle badly and not even completely nude at that. The luster of seeing one of your girls in Playboy wore off for me after Sable’s second spread, and the fact that a good majority of your divas have already posed nude doesn’t help either. I understand you want to market towards kids, but if that’s the case you shouldn’t be running playboy storylines anyway. However, in the meantime, if you aren’t going to work a little harder at pretending your "divas" are edgy and at least good wrestlers, than I will dutifully change the channel or hit the shitter.

Finish-I don’t care, but I am sure it will somehow invlove Snoop Dogg and Santino getting in the mix and all of the girls getting stripped down to bra and panties. Winner: Ashley and Maria...everybody cheers for the girls like they have never seen a woman before and happily ever after. Too bad WWE can’t come up with any actual storylines for the Divas, or incorporate them into something the guys are doing that doesn’t involve waiting for a Playboy Spread. Oh wait! If this match was shit then that was the whole point of it. The sole purpose of that match was to give fans a rest before the main event. If you don't you end up with a crowd responce smilar to what Jericho & HHH had to endure at WM X8.

As par for the course, this match blew monkey balls. Easily the worst match of the night, but appropriate to have because of the emotion of the Flair vs. HBK match just prior. The best part of the match was the power going out.

Seriously, the WWE Diva's are ugly as hell. The jawlines on these chicks make Stan from American Dad jealous. The only good part of this match was Santino and Snoop saving the day. I love the crickets of Maria trying to fire the crowd up for her botched Bronco Buster. Truly horrendous, it's time for someone to come out of retirment and put that belt in the trash can were it belongs.

Match wasn't good AT ALL. Better then I thought though but not good enough. WWE obviously changed plans last minute to have Beth and Melina win as they dominated the entire feud. It was also obvious that Candice was going to pick up the win as Beth's back to doing nothing... again.

Shame they didn't go through with their original triple threat women's title match, which would've been awesome IMO. (Beth vs. Mickie vs. Candice)

WWE could do so much better. They have awesome diva talent but they never push the good ones. Look at the decent to the best on the roster..

If anybody says that the WWE has nothing but talentless ****s, look again as most of the divas are really good or decent wrestlers who could easily compete with the competition.

With Nattie's debut and the crowd reaction to BunnyMania, etc., and Trish recently saying how she doesn't like WWE's use of the divas, WWE might have to take action. It's obvious that I love Candice, but WWE shouldn't put the division on hold until she returns again. They can still get their revenge storyline, but why waste perfectly good time for another feud to occur? Plus it isn't like they'll have to rebuild the ENTIRE feud anyways as WWE pretty much killed all of it's heat when they never mentioned it one time during the Playboy feud. Plus bringing Candice back to fulfill a T&A role for WM hurt her credibility as an improving women's wrestler as well.

I had no faith in the match since going into it, none of us really knew what it was supposed to be. Instead all the match was really was a tag team diva lumberjack match which was a mess to say the least. I wouldn't have minded it so much if it weren't for the fact that this was after Flair vs HBK. How can you have a match that you can tell is going to be bad and put it after a match like HBK and Flair. And I actually liked Mania this year. I haven't watched it in 2-3 years and I liked it this year. I thought this match was dumb. I thought having the Mayweather/Big Show match just before the main event was ridiculous, but I liked it all the same.

As far as the divas go, the sad truth is that some of them can wrestle. Beth of course is good. Melina and Mickie James are good. Michelle McCool I guess is okay. Layla has potential and Victoria was always good. Kelly Kelly is improving a good deal. I find some of her moves in the ring to be pretty good. Maria and Candice are just eye candy but hey, I don't object to that. Jillian however, lets just drop the pop singer gimmick and be done with it. I want to say that there's hope for Ashley but everytime I think that, she gets injured.

Let's face facts here people. When Trish and Lita left, everything went to hell for the women's divison.
