Worst Main Event in History?

I didn't think TNA could surprise me anymore, but this did. It's not good though. I got to wonder when Sting was walking to the back if he couldn't help thinking:

"Damn, i should have gone to WWE"

I doubt it but still...

Am i the only one who thinks that this is planned? controversy creates cash, as bischoff would say. now, will this screw over tna, yeah, but bischoff has done it before with the fpod.

people keeps saying that hardy keeps fucking up, but the last time people said he was high, he turned out to just be exhausted. im not a hardy mark, but you guys just automatically think that its always jeff being high. maybe thats the point of the main event. maybe they will delve more into jeff's problems. maybe its part of a storyline. i think that way because if they knew hardy was high, they could easily replace him. after sting took out jeff, bischoff could have made it a triple threat with rvd and anderson, or something along those lines. we'll find out more, but IF hardy was high, then he should be immediately fired. it is absolut bullshit to do this to the company, the fans, and ever wrestler who makes the tna name mean something.

I sincerily doubt this was planned. Becuase, it would make sense to do soemting like this. There was a NO DQ stipulation added which did nothing for the match. And, on top of that, why would they want their top heel beat in 10 seconds? It's just making him look very weak.

I believe this was soemthing to do with Jeff being intoxicated, or he's was being arrested that night and they had to end it earlier.

Either, or. It's still not good publicity. If these report's are true about Jeff being in no condition to perform, TNA probably lost a lot of veiwer's.

If this was all planned, well i give TNA credit for that. The thing is that most of TNA fans know that Jeff Hardy has drug issues, so people are more likely to think that he was stoned out of his mind. The only thing that i could think of except Jeff Hardy being stoned before his match, is a legit injury that could have happened on his way to the ring or while being on the ring. I mean i don't know because we were not there in person we just saw what happened, so it could be a legit injury. Remember Nash injured himself in the ring in 2002. But like every one here, i agree that if he was Stoned out of his mind during the PPV Hardy should be fired, i mean come on man even Scott Hall never pulled shit like that.

Finger Poke of Doom 2011. TNA's PPV Buyrates are going to plummet for anyone who wasted money on that.

I have never watched TNA during its many year run as the opposing pro-wrestling force of the south lands. However, I had just said to my fiancée the other day- "Ya know,I hate on TNA a lot for the atrocities I hear about online, but maybe I should actually watch it for myself. Ya know? Judge it with my own opinions." I was all fired up to start watching after the PPV this week so that I had a good "jumping-off" point. Now, however, I think I'll retract my statements and get some more work done instead of watching TNA. Its not that I think there isn't a lot of talented athletes on their active roster, but after letting a key PPV end like this, I find it hard to justify TNA's existence here in the world of pro-wrestling. I'm not angry, or sad, or irritated. Just disappointed that this passes as TNA's "best." I wish it all the luck in the world (as I do many of the talented roster), but I will not be joining them on their TNA journey.

I didn't watch the PPV but it sounded to me as if Bischoff was gonna make this a NO DQ match and thus have some Immortal guys come down and beat Sting up and have Hardy just pin him. But Sting decided to take actions into his own hand-so not to get injured and win the title at the same time.

sting u moron u should of went to wwe n fought the undertaker now that would of made history!!!! now ur in tna fighting crack heads like jeff hardy... dixie n vince russo u 2 r FUCKIN MORONS

What a fucking joke, seriously TNA you have a two minute match as your main event for your Heavyweight championship and expect fans to be entertained and happy with this bullshit what a disgrace. I watch TNA every week but I'm not sure how much more I can put up with, there's no excuse for this I don't care if Hardy was stoned or Sting was injured there's no way you have a two fucking minute match as your main event, if you have to change the match to a triple threat by adding in AJ or Anderson or even RVD so the can take the load off of either Sting or Hardy so be it.

What a complete let down, Tna wasted my time and money with this disgrace of a ppv and I'm never ordering another TNA ppv after this disaster. How do they expect to grow and increse ratings and ppv buys with this garbage, seriously why would the average fan want too spend their hard earned money on this shit. TNA continues to shoot themselfves in the foot with this they've got noone to blam but themselves, their the ones that hired Hardy and put the strap on Sting either way it's their fucking fault.

Is it just me, or does anyone out there think Vince is paying Hogan to totally destroy TNA from the inside. I mean, it may sound far fetched and maybe i'm reaching here, but It just seems to me, since day 1 when these guys walked in the door things from that moment began to go down hill...storylines, misuse of talent, bad booking, the removal of the six sided ring...the x division...basically everything that made them TNA being set aside for over paid, over age, underwhelming, ex wwe cast offs... I mean after all the crap we've been fed since Jan 4 2010, culminating with tonights major EFF U to all of us, theres got to be some validity in my theory....Maybe Vince did see them as a viable threat and sent Hogan in to damage it beyond repair so he wouldn't have any competition... Maybe with Linda running for senate, having to have the PG rating, he figured I cant really do anything but throw Cena down the people throats while TNA has the likes of the entire X division, a booming knockout division and the hottest tag teams in the business...if they get some real money behind them, they could be a contender....maybe Vince wanted to stop the ball before it got rolling....I know this is as bad as the illuminati conspiracy theories but...its the only thing keeping me from pulling whats left of my hair out. I didnt think anything could be worse than the Miz winning the wwe title....but I actually don't think wrestling can get any worse than.....tna.

not after something like this.

Well, I missed the match because I was in the bathroom. Really, I walk in & the introductions are being made, I walk out & the match is over. But, sadly, the idea that Hardy was unfit to compete makes sense. Sting winning that quickly makes absolutely no sense for the storyline. And clearly TNA was setting up a 3 way or 4 way with the ending of the RVD/Anderson match. Maybe it was a 3 way with RVD, Sting, & Anderson. It's possible the ending of that match was changed as well. Of course, if Hardy was high, he has to be fired. But it was odd to say the least.

Even if this is a disgusting Russo swerve, you don't do this shit on PPV when people BOUGHT it to see those matches.

At least the finger poke of doom was on TV and not PPV.

If Jeff was messed up again, he should be suspended without pay, sent to rehab, or fired. At least WWE would suspend the guy and pay for his rehab.

I don't know if Hardy was arrested, stoned, what ever. If this was Impact, it wouldn't be a huge deal. However, this was the last PPV before the second biggest PPV of the year. If Hardy was in bad shape, I can't blame Sting or Bischoff wanting to end the match soon. If Hard was wasted then this shouldn't have happened, period.

If TNA would have had an actual #1 contender for the title like Anderson or RVD, then they could have easily had Sting versus one of them. TNA should have known better. Hardy has displayed this behavior before and it is going to end up killing someone. I feel sorry for the wrestlers that busted their ass for this show and even even sorrier for the fans that spent $40 to $50 bucks. This will probably go down worse then Jeff Jarrett laying down for Hogan. We all know what happened to WCW soon after that incident.

This actually breaks my heart in a way. After a great build-up to several matches, a good Impact on Thursday, touring in different cities and getting phenomenal reactions, and the buzz around Sting's return and title win, this should have provided a lot of momentum going into the next PPV, especially with a biggie like Wrestlemania coming up. Instead, we get this. I won't pass judgement on Jeff Hardy's condition because last minute work kept me from ordering the PPV, but I can tell you this:

1. No PPV should ever be less than 2 hours.

2. No PPV main event should be less than 10 minutes.

3. No PPV performer, main event or otherwise, should be deemed unable to work the event unless some severe tragedy or emergency, in which case, a suitable replacement should be used accordingly.

And while I won't add the predictable Sting\RVD\Anderson three-way match, why drag out Ric Flair for an impromptu match? Why not use Scott Steiner or Kurt Angle or Samoa Joe or Jeff Jarrett, ANY VETERAN that could call the match in the ring on the fly? I just do not want to believe that TNA management and creative could let this happen.

When the WWE's RAW stars got trapped overseas and the Smackdown crew had to do a Monday Night RAW in Newark on the fly before a PPV, the show was pretty good and they still gave out refunds afterwards.

At minimum, anyone who bought tickets to the Impact Zone for the PPV and ordered the PPV should be given immediate and unconditional refunds. If it were me I'd be camped out of the TNA offices with a fresh pen so they could sign the check.

IDK what everyone is mad about. I loved the PPV. And the Main Event was just icing on the cake for me to give it a A+. GREAT JOB TNA WORTH WATCHING. CAN'T WAIT FOR THURSDAY!!!!

Whoa, whoa... dude, you have got to be as stoned as Jeff Hardy if you actually think that PPV was a great job. Either that or the entire post was a massive slice of sarcasm, in which case it would be completely justified.

To be honest, after watching the match over and over again, I don't think this was booked this way. I guarantee you that something went wrong with Hardy. The look of disgust on Sting's face throughout the whole thing really tells you something was up. Sting really does look very angry over this whole thing. Also, as it was pointed out, it looked like Hardy tried to kick out but Sting pressed down on him to hold him in place. "IF" this is the case and what we all think is happening with Jeff is happening, I think he should be fired, plain and simple. If TNA wants to save face, they NEED to do it publicly and explain why he is being released. It's the only way they will salvage this at all. Also, whoever decided to allow Jeff to the ring, instead of running an angle to have something happen to him and have someone else face Sting, really needs to be fired. Something was wrong, and Sting made what looked like a serious Judgment call. If he ended the match early so he wouldn't get hurt or Jeff wouldn't get hurt due to his condition, then perhaps TNA really needs to reevaluate their stance on drug use and testing in the company. Crap like this is what killed WCW and I really don't want to see it happen to TNA too. The wrong way down the street on this one, folks, for sure.:disappointed:

The bottom line is Jeff has a major, major problem. TNA needs to fire him or at the very least get the man some help.

Did the main event suck? Yes it did but overall the PPV was decent .Dont judge the whole thing on one fuck up, a major fuck up yes , but i cant say it ruined my whole evening like alot of others are saying.
Hardy looked totaly wasted and as bad as he was it prob wasnt just pot , he had to be on somthing like morphine, i dont smoke pot anymore , havent for years, i think drugs are dumb , ive had too many friends get into bad situations because of them , they are devestating, but people need to realize pot is not that dibilitating of a drug, alcohol is much worse for your body , but most of you wouldnt say shit about somebody drunk. Anyway thats not the point here what is the point is the condition of Hardy, something needs to be done he obviously doesnt give a fuck so TNA shouldnt either, fire his ass, they did what they thought was best in a bad situation, its not that easy to switch plans in the spur of the moment, in hind sight they probably should have done it different but it doesnt really matter now its done and over. When ill be pissed at them is if they dont get rid of him , or at the very least DO NOT let him compete again until he cleans himself up . Do the right thing TNA if you dont you are going to loose a lot more veiwers than you already have.

So...the crap known as Victory Road ended. I was streaming the PPV (would NEVER spend a dime on a TNA PPV at this moment in time). Stream sucked as did the PPV so I ended early, came on here and have read that tonights main event was less than a minute. That being said, I have an easy wuestion for you guys.

What was worse in your opinion?

The 1 Minute Main Event, the Montreal Screwjob, or the Fingerpoke of Doom?

I think tonight takes the cake, at least the MS was an actual match, the FoD led to the downfall of WCW and this......just sucked. What do you guys think.

Dixie knows there was a problem before this come on, hes being convicted on drug charges for crying out loud !!!!!! How can you not blame anyone for putting him in main event, let alone even on the roster ?

I agree. He should never have been sent out there if he was indeed messed up. That is why all live events have "card is subject to change" when they are being advertised. TNA management share in the blame tonight.

I also really feel sorry for Sting. Everyone, including those who aren't fans would pretty much agree that he is a standup guy and didn't deserve what happened tonight. Hardly showed total disrespect to Sting and his legacy if he was indeed messed up like everyone is speculating.

I've been biding my time until this happened because I knew that it would happen eventually. I haven't been waiting to see IF it would happen but WHEN because it has just been inevitable. I posted a long time ago when TNA hired Hardly that this was going to happen and it was just a matter of time. So here it is....TNA, I told you so! That feels good.

If I were in attendance, or if I watched at home I would be demanding my money back. TNA could have covered their butts by making a change in the card but they chose not to do so. I hope they make it right with the fans who spent their hard earned money in a crappy economy where every penny is important. I wouldn't be surprised if that was some family's entertainment budget for the whole month.

This has got to be the epitome of epic fail. The Screwjob- Vince wanted to make sure Bret didn't pull a Medusa and take his belt to WCW. The FPoD- storyline. The 90-second main event? Inexcusable.

had they not booked the #1 contender match as a double countout they could have made an easy cover. Either RVD or Anderson could have jumped on hardy in the back beating him down. Saying they were not going to wait for their title shot and were going to get it NOW. TNA knows that though. I have to believe if they had known hardy had issues earlier in the night they would have made that change during the show. What's the chance that hardy literally went and took whatever he was messed up on DURING the other matches on the PPV and they had no idea of his condition until he was scheduled to come out? He did come out late to his music. In reality if this was a 30sec rewrite to have bischoff come out and give the details to sting, that's really about the only way to cover.

I agree though you can't put a guy like that in a position to destroy what you've worked so hard to build. Meanwhile you still have AJ consistently putting on the best matches of the night every time he comes out.

Obviously, we at this point do not know what exactly happened. BUT it seems as if Jeff Hardy was "not prepared to go" for obvious reasons. Here is my question. Assuming that the writers were aware that Jeff was in bad shape why not deal with it and have the #1 contenders match go to a decision - either way (RVD or Anderson) THEN have TNA have the winner standing over Jeff Hardy as if they took him out and THEN have the #1 contender challenge Sting for the title. I know this is an audible, and some fans would be pissed, but TNA could have put on a decent match for us. Even if Jeff Hardy was not willing to lay down in one spot for the segment the anouncers could say that is what happened. I think TNA did not expect this but could have reacted to it and offered their fans a quality alternative here. I can not believe they planned on giving the paid fans in attendance and on PPV a minute and a half main event.
