Worst Main Event in History?

Wow a 2 Minute World Title Match on PPV? Really? I read the Results of Victory Road and I just shook my head in disgust. Why is TNA continuing to allow Jeff Hardy to be in the Main Event right now is beyond me. For the people who payed for it and for the people who were there should demand some type of refund for that garbage. TNA just continues to be Crap and continues to be the worst Wrestling Company of all-time.

This is why WWE continues to get my PPV money and support overall.

ok i watched the ppv, for free of course, and overall there were some great matches... ultimate x, and then aj vs matt hardy, were both great solid matches... but when the Sting vs Hardy match came up i noticed something about Hardy, he just didnt seem to be there... even the taped promo u could tell even with his glasses on he looked out of it... and for Sting to voice his opinion to the fans going back up the ramp you know it wasnt something that was actually planned. I wouldnt be the least bit surprised if tomorrow or tuesday we read that hardy was forced to drop a ua before the match or whatever and it came back positive. Or maybe this is TNA's way of telling Jeff we cant prove ur high at this moment so here is this giant stick for u to sit on and rotate... I give Sting credit for doing what he did and even acting like he did. Jeff Hardy is fucking waste of space anymore... btw the other thing i thought was weird, rewatch when sting hits bischoff and look how slow hardy is on the reactions and stuff... something was for sure up there. any ways dont hate on the whole ppv... especially since Velvet Sky was the hottest looking bitch, on anything, in the last 10 years, in that black outfit!!!!! if i can qoute Ron Simmons, "DAMN!!!!!!!!"

All I can say is that's a lot of people viewing this thread, 772 people. 716 of them are guests, why don't you guys join and post aswell :)

My thoughts on this are if this was indeed a result on Jeff Hardy being stoned and not able to compete then we shouldn't be too harsh on Dixie Carter and if we should be pissed off with anyone, we should be pissed off with Jeff Hardy for being irresponsible when he knows he has a main event to wrestle. TNA are going to have to take a hard look at Jeff Hardy and his spot on the TNA roster food chain, so to speak.

Dixie didn't put the bong on Jeff's lips, Jeff put the bong on Jeff's lips.

Dixie knows there was a problem before this come on, hes being convicted on drug charges for crying out loud !!!!!! How can you not blame anyone for putting him in main event, let alone even on the roster ?

I've read more than one comment in this thread that eludes to Hardy being stoned on marijuana. I highly doubt Jeff's issues stem from being a pot smoker. This man is a junkie, and that's a label pot smokers shouldn't be stamped with. Crystal meth and cocaine are light years beyond marijuana...

Wow I almost ordered this ppv thank god I dident. I love tna I have watched it since they started on Fox sports but this is pretty bad. I hope they get their stuff together soon.

very good point, dizzle

I did not order this PPV because quite frankly the matches were not enticing IMO. Plus the fact it seemed thrown together last minute since there was very little buildup to any of the matches. So glad I did not order. I am sad, disappointed and angry at the Main Event. What a shame to all the hard workers associated with TNA

How sad is it that we are hoping someone was hurt and could not perform in an odd hope to have this make sense?

If I were a wrestler in TNA I would be asking for my release right now. This is BS a few years back when people started bombing TNA I still stuck with them but over the last year or so even I cant defend them anymore. I actually dont think it's Russos fault TNA is like this because he was booker a long time before Hogan and Bischoff came in and TNA wasn't even this bad. I think now would be the best time of any for Sting to go to WWE so that his legacy won't be tarnished by just being associated with a crappy company like TNA. Alot of people compare TNA to the dying days of WCW, but I dont even remember WCW being this bad. At least they didn't have a two minute main event match on PPV at least the fingerpoke of doom was on Nitro. I am just sick of TNA and hardly watch it now and the only time I do watch it is when Mickie James is on it, which I think she deserves the Knockouts Championship by now. I am sooooo over both of the Hardyz and they used to be my top favorites in WWE. Of all the times for this to happen in TNA it had to be 3 weeks before Wrestlemania which makes them look even worse compared to WWE. I have always said TNA had better in ring work, but I cant even say that now.

i swear i saw hardy stumble to the ring and while in the ring so I'm going to go with the he was stoned reason. Am I gonna bitch and moan...why? it wass only 30 or 35 dollars... at the end of the day...i hope he gets help..and this is coming from a fan of his...he has a child, he recently officially married...i hope he gets the help he needs to be healthy and happy

Even if Jeff is stoned out of his goddamned mind, TNA is still responsible for giving the fans a main event. If Jeff can't go, you adjust the card and give the fans something else. TNA management and booking are responsible for this. They should have realized that Captain Fuckup wasn't able to perform and made a new main event. Hell, put Anderson and RVD in for a triple threat if you have to. Use a guy that isn't booked like Joe or Abyss or whoever. Make a match though. A last minute thrown together match is still way better than the crap they threw out tonight.

- PWInsider reports that numerous TNA sources indicate that the main event for the TNA World Heavyweight Title at tonight's Victory Road pay-per-view lasted only 1 minute and 28 seconds because of backstage concern over Jeff Hardy. Other speculation is that Sting wouldn't agree to wrestling a long match with Hardy if he was in bad condition. More details on what happened tonight should be coming out in the next few days.

For what it's worth, Jeff Hardy's court date on drug charges is next Monday, March 21st.

so there is the early word from some people backstage... wrestlezone should have this up sometime in the next 24 hrs, but it looks like it was mostly because of Jeff. In this matter i dont blame Sting or TNA really... but really do any of us have the right to be mad... we buy or watch for free, tna ppv's all the time knowing that one day this was gonna happen with Jeff.... now lets get his ass the fuck outta there and move on!

"pro wrestling report" just ended and fans were calling in saying jeff hardy was in no condition to wrestle tonight and that he was arrested after the show...one caller says it is on pwinsider.com but i didnt find it...

Everything pointed to Hardy kicking out of that move but he obviously was barely able to get down to the ring. With word coming in that Hardy shouldn't have even been in the ring I think TNA should be thankful that Sting ended it early, rather than letting Hardy kill himself and Sting.

Also Bischoff having Sting end the match so soon with Hardy obviously knowing nothing about it seeing as to how pissed off he looked after the match when Sting pinned him also makes sense.

There were rumors that Hardy was so bad that cops were called on him and were waiting for him in the back to take him to jail.

Any way you put it Jeff Hardy has to be done, gone, you don't have one of the biggest Pay-Per Views of the year for your company for the Main Event player to show up so stoned he can barely get down the ramp and is incapable of standing up after the match.

This has to be the end of the road for Hardy, he dropped the ball worse than any wrestler in history tonight, no excuse.

I don't care what any TNA sympathist says. This is it. Holy shit does anybody in that company care about it. Do they have a sense of pride in work ethic. This is fucking appalling. Shame on me though. Shame on me for being fooled again. Thank god for AJ and Matt Hardy. That was the only bright spot on this whole fucking three hour(2:45) ppv. What a damn waste how could anybody involved in that company think that this damn main event was fair to fans. Wake the fuck up Dixie they are having fun fucking you in the ass and giving you aids. To top it off your so desperate you paying them.

TNA, Dixie Carter, Hogan, Bischoff, Russo.......From the bottom of my heart, GO FUCK YOURSELVES!!

what ? you have to blame it on the 3 stooges, hogan, bischoff or russo, how can you keep running him out there, you had to know this was bound to happen. Secondly how can you even let him go out there tonight and not replace him with someone.

Hardy caused the problem, but whoever makes the decision to put him in the main event and then let him go out there high is just as accountable..

Obviously they didn't just "let him go out there" based on the way the match went down. Wasn't like they expected him to go put on a good match. They cut their losses and got out of there. I'm not saying you're wrong because I'd have definitely scrambled and had an impromptu Sting/AJ or Sting/RVD/Anderson match to try and salvage the night. But we don't know what was going on backstage or with management. You might have a situation where the roster let TNA pay for its mistake with Hardy and refused to help out.

Sometimes I think you guys really overrate the level of power Bischoff and Hogan TRULY have in TNA and confuse their on-screen roles and WCW past with the reality of today. We have no idea what responsibility they've really been given. We know Bischoff was named an executive producer but that job has much more to do with the technical side of television and not the creative.

This is my first post and I must say that as a die hard TNA supporter, if this wasn't Jeff Hardy's personal issues then I am very very upset with TNA's decision to sell some terrible less than squash match as a main event. I don't know if any of the backstage reports are true and won't until I get official word, but I think something was up. When Sting was pinning Hardy, it looked as if Hardy was trying to kick out and his right arm wasn't even on the mat. Perhaps I have to view the footage again, but I think the report of Eric coming down to tell Sting what to do could very well be legit and that Hardy was in no shape to compete. I see no other logical reason to do this to your loyal fanbase, and you must be loyal if you ordered a TNA PPV.

That was a weird Main-Event. I don't know what was up or what happened since, i don't work for TNA. The thing i find weird is that most people seem to think Jeff Hardy was stoned. If and i do mean if because none of us know for sure, then Jeff Hardy is an asshole (no pun intended) for showing up at the PPV like this. Could it be that something happened when he was in the ring like a last minute legit injury? Like i said, we don't know for sure and i for one think that if he was so stoned that he couldn't do a simple match at a PPV well he should be gone.

One of the most shameful match and booking ever:disappointed: thats not a ppv worth match that's fu*king bullshit!!!!!!!! we pay our hard earned money for this crap i am never going to watch tna again!!!!!!!!!!! fuck u bischoff u S.O.B@!!!!!!!!:banghead:

I almost ordered this but I am so glad I didn't, otherwise I would be calling my cable company demanding my money back. You know your main-event star is on drugs and you still let him go out and perform. You could've put anyone else in that main event and it could've been a great match. Why would you put Jeff Hardy out there knowing his condition. I mean really someone had to know.

I really have no idea why TNA would do this. If it was because of Jeff Hardy's real life "issues", this has to be the last straw. You can't consistantly fuck up pay-per-view main events and expect to survive.

And I gotta say, this probably was the worst "pay-per-view main event" in history.

this makes Hardy look absolutely horrible. i believe his career is (or at least should be) over with this.

TNA is mostly to blame for the main event though. you should know if the guy is out of it beforehand. don't send him out there if he's drugged out of his mind. remember Survivor Series 99? Vince threw Big Show out there on the fly and it was a decent main event. you just can't send a druggie out there. what if Jeff did something stupid to a fan? you're putting the health of ur fans at risk doing this trash.

i hope he gets help but man, TNA is to blame for this

TNA should fire Jeff Hardy...publicly....right now. Seriously, it should be breaking news on their website and every other wrestling news site on the internet.

They must cut ties with Hardy NOW.

does anyone know if there was ever a shorter main event match (that did not continue, or re-start or anything like that) in the ppv wrestling era? or any that are even close?

wow after reading this im disgusted and i defend TNA untill the end but not this, im glad i didnt buy it. I HOPE! Hardy was tripping balls and it was just a cover. I just want too see how hardy acted b4 the match. Also i agree with everyone who said Sting would never go along with something like this if it were storyline, he was there he knew shit like this killed wcw and i doubt he would do that to TNA. Its time to get rid of hardy.
