William Regal To RAW/ Regal for GM?

well Regal will be moving on the supplemental draft he has had to put up with so much crap. He has gone from IC champion to leader of the freak squad. Maybe the story writers dont like england?

Now that Benoit is on ECW, Regal will go to ECW, it is their gaurantee of a great match, Regal Vs. Benoit is an awesome matchup for Wrestling fans, most of the purists love this match up. Regal is going to ECW because of the where Benoit goes, Regal is sure to follow, this is a WWE thing for some weird reason, but He can also show some of the younger guys a thing bout how to work a technical match even though I would want to see him in a feud with Nitro and Kenny. A feud with Kevin Thorne or with Matt Striker would be good.

Regal may stay on SD, but I doubt ECW is 100%; ECW is the equal to wrestling Siberia right now, I don't see regal wanting to go there or anybody wanting to go there. If Regal is moved I see him going to raw. Just due to them stacking raw and regal wanting to get in on the WWE power struggle wwe.com talked about. I think Regal was a former commish on RAW and with him respecting McMahon so much, it would make sense for him to go to RAW and try to lay claim to being McMahon’s successor.

He would see Coach as a ignorant rouge not worthy of being in power, and claiming only he has the experience and talent needed to take over, this could be the reason to send him there if they want him involved in that storyline.

I can see him going to RAW but ending up on Heat, he'll probaly have a series of matches with Eugene or someone of his caliber. I don't know wh RAW seems to be teh holy grail at the moment because SD is much better quality. But, if he politics to go to RAW, it may end up bitig him on the arse. hope not because he's a good wrestler.

Also, if Regal goes to RAW or ECW, I take it Dave Taylor will just disappear?

For all the crap that he has had to endure (angle with Eugene, putting over 'Pirate' Paul Burchill, being fed to Kane, etc.) Regal needs to be rewarded. He should be moved to Raw to compete for the IC Title, perhaps having a good feud with Santino Marella. Regal has always been one of the best technicians in WWE but really hasn't been able to achieve much because management has held him back in favor of pushing countless generic big guys. This guy can wrestle, work a mic, participate in serious and humorous angles - what's not to like about Regal. He deserves better than what he's received.

I definately think that a feud with Regal and Marella could be quite nice!

Regal is similar to Finlay in that they are both vets who most likely will never get a heavyweight title but deserve it. I think they are both happy with making good matches and helping put over the new talent.

Look at Smackdown a week ago. Matt Hardy vs Regal. See what happens when you allow them (& especially Regal) a few minutes to actually put on a match and showcase his wrestling talents. I thought it was a good match and I enjoyed it. He would be a good person to be in the IC title hunt as he offers a slightly different, but very workable (being a proper 'wrestling') style.

Well after the supplemental draft Raw defiently stole everything. But with Regal going to Raw he may hopefully become pushed as a singles wrestler much as jbl did.Plus he is friends with HHH so that can't hurt him.And after seeing his amazing match against hardy hopefully he does get a push. That accordian back suplex was just sick. It will be very interesting to see how they use him.

Regal is there for 2 possible reasons, as someone said to fight Coach for the GM-ship... Or cos they are gonna finally bring Harry Smith up to the roster and want him to work with Regal, which makes a lot of sense.

Particualrly in some kind of manager/free agent scenario for Smith...

I wonder what will happen to his partner Dave Taylor now? Them as a team was pretty enjoyable hopefully not the end

I'm loving this move if they're actually going to do anything with him. Regal would fit perfectly into the midcard scene or matched up with someone random as a team. All depends on what the bookers are going to do.

In all likelihood though they'll just send him to Heat to light it up with stunners like Viscera. I'd elaborate but King Bookaaaaaah is on the tube.

I don't mind this move, since Regal wanted it. It's odd, but hey, it's what he wants, he's damn good, let him have it. Doesn't hurt that he's good friends with Triple H as well.

So one of two things I think we will see out of Mr. Regal.
1. The long awaited return of Commisioner Regal. Regal was awesome as Commisioner, and probably would be just as good, if not better as the Raw G.M. Coach is miserable and a bore to listen to out there. Coach is just one of those guys that doesn't have "it".

2. Regal is ready to help get the younger guys over. Regal is more then likely in full blown jobber mode. I'm not talkign Steve Lombardi bad, I'm talking a guy that is going to beat the shit out of some young guy, but still lay on his back for three. This is fine as long as it is what he wants. I would love to See Regal vs. John Cena, and Regal do what he did to Goldberg about ten years back, but probably won't happen.

Anyways, I think Regal is in with the right people in the company. It seems like Vince loves the guy, and he's buds with Triple H. I would think even with Stephzilla running things in the back that he is set for life with some sort of job in the company.

Guys like Cena and Lashley dont even deserve to clean Regal's boots. I enjoy watching Regal in the ring and I hope they give him a push, I mean even though it wont happen Regal could still be a main eventer he has mic skills and is probably the best techinal wrestler on the roster now. The regal swap i think was basicaly a swap for Ric Flair. If it was Ric Flair moving the other way you'd all be singing his praises like "woooo" you pieces of shit. Regalis a great wrestler and has been underused massively much to my disapointment, he could still be a great tag team westler if they put him with someone other than that idoit taylor. Regal/Shelton would be amazing because there styles contrast so much, but they ar eboth good techincal wrestlers

Regal being drafted to Raw did split up the Blue Bloods, but they weren't being used much anymore... I think it was a good move, although we have yet to see him in the ring on Raw. I think he should be the one challenging Santino Marella at Vengeance for the IC Title rather than Umaga... They even had the promo that looked like it would build up Santino/Regal... No hype for Umaga/Santino (besides his debut match). Maybe Regal will interfere or sumtin' causing a DQ and he'll feud with Santino for the title. Sounds pretty good to me. Regal is a great wrestler and I hope he gets a nice push as a singles competitor... He should definitely capture a win over Lashley (who sucks) and maybe one over Cena...

So while Regal's having success on Raw, I see Dave Taylor turning into a jobber on SD and being released within a few months :-\

I'M SICK OF SEEING REGAL BEING USED IN TAG MATCHES OR AS A MANAGER TO YOUNGER WRESTLERS!

It's about time he get's some attention again!
William Regal has tons of talent, charisma, and skill to be a good singles wrestler.

Sure he's won four tag titles,
but he's also won the European and Hardcore title four times.
Sure not your cream of the crop titles, but they're championships non the less.

He also beat Edge to become a one time Intercontinental Champion at the 2002 Royal Rumble.

I'd like to see him win it again!

He had a good feud with Chris Jericho a few years back, I remembr that Queen's cup match, that was hilarious because Regal just kept making up rules so he would win! Regal/Matt the other week was a great match too.

I remember that match too!
It really went over well because both wrestlers put so much into it.

I'd love to see him have a serious or comical fued with someone now,
especially for a title.

William Regal, on his day, is as good as just about any other wrestler you can name. He deserves a singles push as I just don't like him in a tag team, and could do wonders for the IC Division (hell, if he can make Santino Marella look good, he should be WWE Champion.) While I would love to see him go back to more of his old British arrogance in his character, he just isn't getting the TV time to get the respect that he deserves. One thing I would love to have seen is him as his patriotic self, holding the United States title, and degrading the US in his hilarious promos, because that's why I love his character. He is a better heel and will probably do decently on Raw as hopefully, a top heel. He at least got a reaction on Heat last week.

Regal's body is fading, as it has been for a while, but he can still put on very entertaining matches, and they are ones that I look out for. If you disrespect Regal's ability on the stick or in the ring, look up some of his matches on youtube. Don't let the past few years give you any form of 'indication' as to just how great a wrestler this guy is, because he is brilliant, and should be a midcard champion on any brand, and I am almost dying to see him as IC champion.

Hell, Regal on his worst, slowest day, can still make John Cena look like the talentless piece of crap that he is. And yes, I may be overstating these things because I really like the guy, but hey, any Cena hater will agree with me there. This guy deserves more of a showing in the WWE, and I suppose he's going to get it on Raw, but he really could have helped out SmackDown. Maybe a HHH feud may be down the track...who knows?

I don't think you over-stated anything,
I think you voiced your opinion quite nicely.

True Regal went through some really bad times,
physically and mentally.
But I think he's fairly on track right now.

I agree with you on him as a tag team wrestler,
whil he can pull it off with no problem,
he is so much better as as ingles wrestler.

Some of the matches he's had in the past with the likes of Finlay, Angle, Benoit, and Jericho were just flat out awesome.

I can't get enough of his technical ground and pound style,
I'm getting myself over-excited that they're possibly gonna push him.

I hope they do.

I absolutely can't believe that monkey_mania said that William Regal is "lackluster in the ring"! You've got to have lost your mind boy.
He's one of the best technical wrestlers of all time, and now that Chris Benoit is gone, he's the best technically in the WWE period.
Regal and Benoit were the only reason I watched Smackdown for quite sometime.
I hear he might be up for a major push, I certainly hope so anyway.
I'd like to see Regal take on Umaga for the IC title.
Or possibly a fued with John Cena could be awesome, maybe he could show Cena how to wrestle a little bit, lol.

lol if he could show cena how to wrestle then HE should be WWE champ , i agree with whats been said before, regal is incredibly gifted technically and yeah the queensbury rules match with jericho was damn funny , was it not like a 2 round , no submission, no DQ match or something? lol

i agree, Regal is technically the best wrestler in the WWE, and he should be given way more time on TV. im sure he can cut a damn good promo with his heel attitude, and his gimmick is great. i think he should have been given a singles run on Smackdown with the US title, feuding with Benoit in place of MVP. can u imagine the great matches you'd see? wow, that would have been a great feud with Regal winning the title, and Benoit chasing it.

i think now that he is on Raw, he should feud for the IC title as a heel and maybe have a non title match against Cena to help his character a bit more. but if WWE were to use him properly, he could easily become WWE champion and give the belt some much needed credibility. and plus im also from England so id like to c him with some gold! lol

I am not sure if it is just me, but for my dollar there is nobody I would rather see as the General Manager of RAW than William Regal. His sarcasm is legendary, he runs the mic better that almost anybody, and has the image to be a believable character.

Even look back to the days of "The Two Man Powertrip" of HHH and Steve Austin. He was their GM, and was a riot. He coined the term "Triple-Haitch." He calls Randy Orton "sunshine." And the program he did with Eugene was priceless, imagine what he'd do with Cryme Tyme!!!

So, at this time, I am officially posting the thread supporting William Regal as Jonathan Coachman's permanent replacement as RAW GM!

Who's with me??? And if you aren't, who do YOU nominate?

I completely agree. William Regal is amazing on a microphone. His sayings are priceless, and I enjoy him on a microphone much better than I do in the ring performing. Also, he really does deserve to have a decent role on a show for a change. Regal has put a lot of hard working years in for WWE and I think it is time that they are rewarded. I think though that he needs to be a tweener as GM. A strictly hell GM is simply to counter Teddy Long being a total face. They can't have two face GM's, but what they can do is allow Regal to be cocky and arrogant all the while making matches that the fans really want to see. This way he is over with the crowd, but only because he gives good matches to them, and not because he is backing guys like Cena or Lashley all time.

So far, Regal looks to be getting some good air time on RAW. Time will tell though...

But yeah, Regal is BY FAR one of the best technical wrestlers today. Even though he may have lost a step or two, considering that 1) he's been wrestling for around 30 years, and 2) he's approaching 50, it's pretty sad that he can wrestle better than the vast majority of WWE wrestlers, especially John Cena, aka the new Lex Luger.

Coupled with mic skills that were honed over said 30 years, and not in OVW and/or being a part of the WWE "formula", Regal deserves at least a good push.

Will we ever see him as World Champion? Hell no...World Champs are for the guys that can sell the most merchandise (see Cena). The "secondary" titles are usually held by the superior wrestler (excluding Umaga...does Vince own the nation of Samoa something? Why does he keep cramming Samoan wrestlers down our throats?).

Regal as IC champion would give instant credibility to the title.
