Why do people love Daniel Bryan?

Sure Dman, I saw his work in the indies and he was a great wrestler with average mic skills. New Japan wasn't relevant 8 years ago. It fell off from what it once was. I was referring to another time period. I agree that there are some very talented wrestlers in the indies and some will not get their shot, which is shameful. However, just being a great wrestler doesn't get you to the big dance. I mean TNA always has better wrestling than the WWE, but their characters and storylines kill all of that.

Do you agree with the other WWE stars saying the Yes chant? It seems like they have used others and the Si chant to get the yes chant over. People act as if he did this all by himself. Edge did not suck, but would Edge have been as big as he got had he not taken all of the bumps he did? I don't think so. You are right though they wrote Bryan the same way they did Edge. I still think it takes away from their credibility. I always felt that Edge was good enough, even as a heel to win matches cleanly. I also think that Bryan from a wrestling stand point is good enough to beat guys cleanly. But it is hard to believe that a guy that is significantly smaller would be able to beat the large guys. Edge wasn't exactly a small guy.

WWE muted the YES chants on Smackdown because it's taped it's called post production, they wanted to protect the heel concept of the heel is not supposed to be cheered. When on RAW they can't protect that concept because it's live.

YES is the new What! and the only person to get the Si! chant is DelRio because he's Mexican and Si! is spanish for YES!

This is probably the most sensible post you've made. Please keep it up.

I think other WWE stars sort of had their hand forced when it came to acknowledging the YES chant. After Mania 28, it became such an unexpected overnight phenomenon that nobody really knew how to react. The crowd was screaming it during every segment the following night. Even The Rock was taken by surprise, and really had no choice but to acknowledge it when his promo was getting drowned out by YES chants. Cena's promo before Lesnar returned was the same thing. When something is that overwhelming, you can't ignore it. The "si" chants had nothing to do with the wrestlers getting the chant over, it was the audience getting creative with the chant because there was a Mexican wrestler in the ring.

Now, does the acknowledgement of the YES chant by stars such as Rock and Cena help Bryan's cause? It certainly can't hurt. Punk mockingly yelling YES @ Bryan after making him tap on Raw is another example of acknowledging that the chant is over. If anything, it's confirmation, not an act of aid.

And yes, it's unbelievable that Bryan can beat guys like Show and Mark Henry - that's why the crowd hated him even more when he'd weasel an unclean victory against them. It's what he's supposed to do. Look at HBK's heel run in '97. Did anyone really think he could beat Taker inside HIAC? No way. He got beat to shit for 20+ minutes and only won because Kane made his debut. People hated Michaels for it. This is no different.

New Japan is as big as it has ever been. Just cause you stoped following it doesn't mean its not still big. And my whole point is that for some reason your putting this stigma on daniel bryan. And you tried to say it was a number of reasons, and i am trying to brake it down to what it really is all about. You could care less about the in ring stuff, or even about what hes done really. Its that you want a 6'5 badass cool heel to be on top. I know it without you even saying it. You think that a little 5'10 aragont prick that doesn't cut promos like the rock or the nwo has no charisma.

The fact is he cuts promos that are true to his character and that is all you can ask. Hes not burring anybody while on the mic like the rock. He puts his opponents over while putting him self over. He has a definitive delivery and diction that sets him apart from other wrestlers. He is entertaining while still pushing forward to the subject at hand. He uses the classic bate and switch technique while doing his promos to make even his biggest fans think hes a dick. Now those are some of the things that make his character great. Just a few. That why I like his character and probably many others too.

Now the yes chant for me was always just an easier way to get behind him. It is just a change from the standard chanting of someones name.

Can this thread be closed already?A whole night has been wasted behind one man's stubbourneness.Fine you don't like bryan, turn off the TV when his on it.Don't watch, view, hear, read anything regarded to him.You are trying to make a cult to hate bryan. You must work for vince, don't you?Don't try to push your opinions on others.

The Yes! chants are worse than the What?, chants!, and what's pathetic is how you guys talk about D-Bryan's Mic skills when in actuality his Yes! chants last longer than the promos itself...

No, right, because it's totally uncommon for a star to use his own catchphrases when cutting a promo...

His promo Monday was short and sweet. I enjoyed it. His delivery is fine, his tone is fine, his conviction is great. Throw in the Q&A segment and it was an all-around satisfying promo. Is there room for improvement? Always. Can he get by on what he's currently delivering? Obviously, YES!

The only reason Daniel Bryan is fighting for the title.

Ill explain this for you. The only reason he is fighting CM Punk is because the WWE has to put CM Punk against people who can wrestle because punk can't make anyone look good.

Think about it. CM Punk wrestled Dolph Ziggler , very good wrestle. Then Chris Jericho , very good wrestler , then Daniel Bryan very good wrestler ..

Once he has beaten him again it will just move onto another person who is a good wrestler.. They are saying Cody Rhodes who just happens to be a good wrestler will be next.

This is just what the WWE does to make the champ look good.

I will never doubt Bryan's Wrestling skill but most of your Major stars in the history of wrestling weren't or aren't good wrestlers. His reward was being the WCW champ on Smackdown.. Cause that is the title.

So , I guess I could say a lot of you may be right. Bryan could be a big star. However, I think he is just a pawn in VM system that has never made sense.

Can I just add for those of you who watched Raw this Monday, how good was Bryan's facial expressions when Kane caught him with a chair in his hand. It was spot on, the whole crowd laughed and got the reaction the spot was looking for. Bryan played it to perfection.

The greats do these little things not many people even see and just think all wrestlers can do them. But it's things like that little moment that makes Bryan ahead of the pack. The man uses his gimmick as a submission specialist, by lehtodically taking apart his oppoent by being very patient and striking at what he wishes to attack. He ensures the babyface he is facing has great opportunities to get their comebacks on him and makes them look great.

D-Bryan has all the tools and with a World title reign now in his pocket he has major kayfabe credibility. His little schemes how he has escaped with thenttile and on Smackdown how he manipulated Kane inot attacking Punk, shows this guy as a devious human-chess player and due to his lack of size, uses his brain and his technical skill to beat everyone.

He has been able to manevuer himself into the main event by his great mic work, his strategic attacks on Champions and while he is in the ring with them, show he can beat them. He deliberatley got himself dq'd in his 2 out of 3 falls match with Sheamus so he could easily defeat him in the next two falls which worked perfectly until Sheamus had his courageous comeback (that Bryan the wrestler perfectly worked towards for the crowd).

Bryan is the best thing going in the WWE today, and for anyone to say it isn't doesn't seem to get it...

You do understand that wrestling is fake right? You do understand that he doesn't actually come up with anything right?

You actually proved a lot of points here.
#1 , The WWE writers can make anyone even Daniel Bryan a star. They did it with the Miz , Jack Swagger , and Dolph Ziggler , who all quickly faded in the title hunt.
#2 , He can't beat people with straight skill he has to cheat , lie and steal wins because he just isn't good enough to win with talent alone.
#3 , You also just proved that some people shouldn't post things when they don't understand wrestling. Bryan is the best thing going? That is why CM PUNK is the WWE champ , That is why Sheamus is the World Champ. John Cena is nothing anymore . He only brings in more money then any other Superstar in WWE as a fulltime wrestler. Hell for that matter why would the WWE bring the Rock back or Brock Lesnar if Daniel Bryan is the answer. Oh yea they wouldn't.

Like I said above , He is only fighting CM Punk because the WWE has to put Punk against good wrestlers because he can't really make bad wrestlers look good as some other superstars can.

I just want to point out the hypocrisy in this statement first. You start off by saying that obvious which is wrestling is fake, you then rip Danielson apart because he's booked to go over people as a cowardly heel... Do you realize what's wrong with that picture right there?

Now onto the second part, you really think they're having Punk face people like Jericho, Danielson, and presumably Rhodes in the future because CM Punk can't make people look good? Could it possibly be that he's WWE Champion, which means that you know the WWE puts the better people on the roster in that spot? Do you think they're about to throw Heath Slater or someone at that level into WWE title matches? Or do you think they'll throw the premier players into that role, along with people such as Rhodes who they want to see if they're ready to take the jump to the next level?

Ok so wrestling is fake.. but the reaction from the fans isn't... and on Smackdown, when Bryan came out and attacked Kane the fans went apeshit for him....

Remember when the fans reacted a certain way to a guy called.. Stone Cold Steve Austin? Vince listened to the fan and pushed him and we had the most popular superstar of all time. If Vince listens to the fans and keeps pushing Bryan, then he will be put at the top of the card becase people tune in to see what he will do next. Right now Bryan equals ratings be it booking, be it a stupid catch phrase they caught on the like wild fire... Austin 3:16 caught on once too....

"Am I seriously comparing Daniel Bryan to Stone Cold?" Well in a way, Austin was thought of as a great mechanic by Vince nothing more. Hence the Ringmaster, then he broke out with a big catch phrase after winning King of the Ring. Bryan wins the WHC, and then has a catchy phrase... a catch phrase, if he is able to keep being pushed, keep his devious character and keep just putting on great matches who knows how high he can fly...

People love Daniel Bryan because of the number 1 reason why wrestlers over decades of wrestling have been getting over. Mic work ability. Catchphrases and promos.

The IWC loves wrestlers who can actually wrestle. I read and hear it all the time about why so and so isn't getting any play. Newsflash outside of the IWC no one cares about technical wrestlers and wrestlers who have an actually wrestling background. People like brawlers and flashy move sets.

Daniel Bryan is neither a brawler or has a flashy move set, hence why he could never get over with the crowd when he was a face. He turns heel, becomes over the top with the Yes chants and starts executing better promos, he gains heat. Simple. He's doing a fantastic job btw, I at one point could not stand him, but he's really doing a good job to the point where I'm going to buy a Yes Yes Yes shirt. I hope they keep him as a heel for awhile, I would even give him the WWE title...shake it up a little. He's earned it.

Daniel Bryan is one of the few people that actually keep me interested in the WWE. One of the reasons why is because as over as he is and the amount of cheers he receives, he has remained a heel doing what heels do best. He hasn't been forced into a tweener role or turn babyface like CM Punk and Orton did.

ur trollin or ur a ****** and ur one of the reasons why wwe is what it is. im srry if u expected a big guy on steroids who cant properly wrestle and doesnt come sayin fella or u cant see me or my name ................. is .........................randy .............................. orton .............................. im goin .............................. to hit u ............................. with an R Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz K Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz O ZZzzzzzzzzzzz daniel bryan is underrated just like many other technical wrestlers where were u when CM Punk did his whole rant last summer?-_- its nice to see som1 like Bryan on top he deserves it

Being a great wrestler is more than enough to grab peoples interest, since this is called pro wrestling after all. But he gives good promos and is one of the best heels right now. So there are several different reasons why some love him.
