Because 1) it allows everyone else to quickly click on the post that the other person is replying to so that everyone can quickly figure out whats going on, 2) it leads to less confusion about who the fuck you're actually replying to, and 3) you just look plain ******ed when you quote the way you do not to mention it takes more time.
