who will be the next suprise champ?

There was that first time that CM Punk cashed in MITB, when Edge first won, titles liek that. who do you think that the next surprise world title winner (1st title reigns only). my pick is prob MVP, Swagger, or Kingston.

I think kane or shelton benjamin because kane came so close last year to winning and for benjamin.......I think he should win because he's been in the MITB more than anybodyso he just might win this year

I'm not entirely sure, but I just hope WWE never repeats the way CM Punk cashed in (or tried to) this year. I couldn't stand the multiple attempts only to be screwed by a superstar that would a month later be future endeavored in Umaga. Everyone is saying JoMo is going to be the next Money in the Bank winner, but something tells me that whoever wins this year is going to be the first failed cash in attempt. I know, everyone was saying that about Punk last year, but they eventually have to do it, other than that, once someone wins MitB, people are just going to assume it's a for sure title reign at some point, which it's really not. Anyway, that's my long rant. Anyway, I think it's going to be someone on Smackdown, and it's going to be someone young. I'd love to see Christian win MITB and pick up the title, even if it's just for a week. But I could see it being someone like Swagger if he's moved to SD! in the draft.

Who said that the next surprise champion had to be from money in the bank? Well if we are going onto the topic of money in the bank then I would say,(even though I think the next MITB winner will lose the title match) Shelton Benjamin or John Morrison. These two have been working their asses off for the company and the fueds they have been in have seen them revolving around a title somehow. So yeah if it is MITB than Morrison or Benjamin.

Finally people see it my way. Shelton Benjamin all the way man. He's been with the company for about 7 years, has been in high profile matches with HHH, (I enjoyed all of them,) and has had some of the greatest tag matches with Haas. I think it's time Mr. Benjamin gets his shot at the gold.

I don't understand what's so special about Shelton. Okay, he is a great athlete and is a very talented wrestler. But he fucking blows on the mic and barely has any charisma. Until he steps it up on the mic and I see more passion from him, then I'll be ready to call him a world champ. And for my next surprise champ, I gotta go with Ted Dibiase. I'm sure he'll be turning face and I see a huge push for him. Hopefully.

MVP, Swagger, or Kofi would hardly be surprises as they are all mid-card/upper mid-card stars already. Why not? He's a former two time IC champion. No one now considers him a credible threat to win any title, even a midcard title. So why not have Santino be a surprise champ?

I THINK THAT SHELTON BENJAMIN SHOULD BE IT. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A BLACK WWE CHAMPION SINCE THE ROCK AND THERE ARE A LOT OF TALENTED STARS LIKE MVP. MARK HENRY HELD THE ECW TITLE BUT HE DID IT AS A HEEL! I THINK THAT IT IS TIME FOR A STEP UP. Honestly it could be Santino. WWE is all about the surprises so could any of you actually picture him winning it? Lets say its one of those money making championship matches on raw where most of the time a heel/current champ wins/retains. It could be one of thoses 5-for-alls the lets say orton is AA'ed, SCM, then Pedigreeed, then Big show cleans house and Santino flips him (BigShow) over the ropes and he goes for the pin on Orton. Sry im a night dreamer.

But anyways my choice on this subject would be teddy but another possible one is john morrison but i just have this feeling the teddy is gunna somehow steal that title form orton sometime around the royal rumble. As for john morrison his time will come i just feel not quite yet. As for shelton benjamin i noticed a bunch of you have said his name yes he has been here awhile but he doesn't have the mike skills to be a world champion if he had a better mic skill shelton would be my choice

anyone that says Dibiase or Swagger or morrison would be suprises are wrong because we all know they are going to win eventually so that would not make it a suprise... now if Santino won the title that would be a suprise... or if say SHAD from Cryme Tyme or say some other mid carder that has some following or has a chance of a future but isnt close like the Dibiase or swaggers... that is what a suprise is something noone expects

Another suprise would be someone debuting or redebuting winning the title... say a danielson or Nigel MCginuis... or if Booker really leaves TNA and comes back to the E and wins the title on his first night back suprise... not that I think he is coming back but at least it would be a suprise

Shelton would be a surprise win here just because he's mid sitting around the mid card for years now and nobody would see it coming. He's got the ring skill, but his mic skill is holding him back, but it would throw them off!

The Original question was who would be a surprise world champion, but I don't think the original poster even answered his own question correctly.

Would anybody be surprised if Morrison, MVP, Swagger, or Debiase were to win a world title? No, in fact we would expect them to.

Someone who would genuinely surprise me would be Kofi, he just doesn't seem like a world champion, even though he just had a good reign as US champion.

Ok i know he is so unbelievably young, but so was orton his first time...When Orton beats Cena and he leaves Raw and goes to Smackdown who is going to step up in Orton's face? that is where Dibiase steps in...

it would be perfect, with Cena gone Orton could rant for a couple weeks about how there is no one to stop him now...and after a while you see Dibiase get aggitated about how Orton wont stop beating on helpless talent because he has no one to face....Dibiase eventually snaps and beats the crap out of Orton and Rhodes and someone else TBD at a later point because they need a forth in the Legacy.

There's a few that would make frankly interesting surprise champs, at least in terms of the WWE/World Heavyweight Championships. I read MVP mentioned, and I'd agree that would be a surprise when it comes to those two, although mid-card championships are no surprise at all. One that would be a surprise would be Evan Bourne, particularly with the run he's had lately. But then, smaller wrestler, with the exception of Rey Mysterio, they tend to reach no further than contendership. I blame Vince for that.

I'd make one exception, but not for any extended period, likely to lose any Heavyweight Championship on first title defense. That'd be Hornswoggle. Impossible, you say? Well, as we all know, getting a title has nothing to do with realism and everything to do with how big a draw for crowds and merchandise the wrestler is. I could definately see a special circumstance in which, through trickery and loophole exploitation, Horny manages to get the belt, but loses it the first time he's forced to wrestle "legitimately" (unless there's a disqualification and I can definitely see him exploiting that loophole a few times.)

Santino would be a great surprise as would Jamie Noble. Say what you like, but for his size, the guy's an incredible wrestler, just about revolutionized the cruserweight division (even by admission of several of the other WWE superstars) and he has a great comedic character. It's time for a comedic champ! I'd like to see this guy at least get the ECW Heavyweight Championship one of these days.

even if he had to forfeit it after one night. id like to see randy orton beat cena in the inronman match and then come out the next night on raw and brag about it and say that he is untouchable. then to have Bret Harts music hit. orton doesnt take him seriously and gets locked in the sharpshooter. now tell me people would mark out for that

Cody Rhodes.

We all know that he could possibly win the title...somewhere down the road. Most of the internet wrestling community believes that TDJ will be the "surprise" of Legacy, but also, from what I've read, people don't count Cody Rhodes out either. Just believe he has some work to do. Why?

BEFORE Legacy, he had the deal going on with his dad and Orton, at the Great American Bash a few years back. Then, Orton AGAIN disrespects The American Dream by RKO'ing him on RAW. Strike two. At the recent pay-per-view, it was OBVIOUSLY seen that Rhodes was looked like the weaker of the two. Eventually, Rhodes will get the boot. Strike three. Cody Rhodes winning the title before DiBiase would be at least a slight surprise to the IWC, and a mindboggler for the more casual fans...Even though Rhodes wouldn't really be a good idea in my perspective, it's at least plausible.

Hey...even Orton got the title for a month before he dropped it to HHH. Why couldn't Rhodes?

WEll I think Cody Rhodes, Miz, JMO, and Diabiasse will all get main titles in the next 3 years but that would not be a susprise. For the next susprise world champ I have to say Zach Ryder because he is developing nicely in ECW, I could see him in money in the bank and win the MITB (of course he will get a ECW title reign first which all signs look like he will eventally win it real soon). Durring the draft he will get drafted to smackdown who once again got the blood completly sucked out of it and only has Big Show, Kahli, Kane, Matt Hardy, and Batista and the occasional apperence taker (one or two fueds a year). This will lead the doors open to ryder who could susprise us all and win by cashing in the breifcase. You said you wanted a susprise champion and he is the only susprise champion right now thats acutally concievable

Santino could be an awesome suprise, but maybe for not the WWE Championship. Imagine him going on a winning streak and actually showing off some of his wrestling skills in close matches and cutting some very funny promos in the ring. Could be the next biggest face in the company.

With MITB this year to give the champ any credibility they have to have a planned cash in ala RVD or Kennedy before he lost it. This spontaneous cash in thing has run its course and is just cheesy as hell now.

But we're talking about 1st time champs. I don't know who it will be because no one is built up enough so it could be anyone. I would like it to be Morrison and I would like it to be at Wrestlemania. 1st Title wins should happen at Wrestlemania, Survivor Series or Summerslam for this generation, and it should happen over top stars. Morrsion over Orton/HHH/Batista/Cena a guy on that level. Cena and Batista earned their spot because they had huge wins at WM over top heels. These hot potato hot shot wins have made the titles look like shit to me.
