Who will be new champion?

HAHA OHH YEAH HE KEEPS COMING BACK I'M WITH YOU UNDERTAKER#1FAN
an interpromotional match does sound like a great idea i said the same thing in the PPV forum

You know, I don't think we're even going to have a new champ come No Mercy. Orton will come out and demand that he has the title handed to him, someone (probably Kennedy) will come out and argue that. A few more big people will show up, and that'll eventually bring out Vince, who will make the main event of Cyber Sunday, basically saying that whatever two people get the most votes will battle for the title at the PPV. I think that'd be cool.

Any chance that Undertaker will cross brands and win the title? Again this sets up a whole new set of fueds for raw, which they desperately need

Right now it seems Orton may win the belt because Vince is very high on him as of this moment. I find that hard to believe because if you are a fan of the WWE, you know that the surprise opponent/entrant always wins, so my guess is that whoever Orton takes on will win the WWE title. They should put it on an already big star since they haven't really hyped anybody recently from my knowledge besides Orton. Taker, HHH, and possibly Orton and Kennedy are the top guys to hold the belt right now, not including Y2J and HBK since we don't really know when they are slated to return. I would be satisfied if it was any of those six superstars I just mentioned, but I got a feeling that it is going to be Vince McMahon, the Devil himself. I think they are going to have yet another Battle Royal for the WWE title where HHH wins, but Vince comes out and says "There is still another entrant in this match, ME!", Umaga than re-enters the ring(after being eliminated by HHH) and destroys him so Vince can easily eliminate him and become the new WWE Champion. This is definitely something Vince would do since he takes pleasure in pissing off the fans and it will escalate his feud with Triple H.

Thats a great idea I'm just so excited about this new champion match that will happen at no mercy maybe Skullz Crack'Em is right maybe vince will become WWE champ and fued with Triple H but i'd still like the undertaker to become the WWE champion

The only way I dont see Orton as the next champion is if Y2J gets moved up to this Sunday, which I doubt...that wil probably be at No Mercy, or if HBK comes back, and that would be interesting since the angle is already set up as Orton "took out" Michaels while HBK was really getting his leg repaired. I like the Last Man Standing Match...they havent done it in a while and you know you will see some sick moves and get a quality match...the only one with enough build up however would be HBK (or Cena obviously as they have been working that angle for months and was supposed to be in that match)...there has not been build up with Triple H although there is a lot of history between them, you can throiugh Hardy's name in there with Kennedy, but I don't see that happening either, although it would be interesting to see Orton vs. Kennedy becuase they are both building reps for taking guys out...but that is heel vs. heel ... heel vs. heel and face vs. face matches really have no point because you are in the same position as you were in before the match, so without build up, I don't see Orton vs. Kennedy, not right now anyway. And this has nothing to do with this thread but i wanted to add it...it is a big misconsemption that "kids" are the only ones who like Cena...I am 22 and I think his character over the past few years, especially after he beat JBL in a last man standing match (ironically) and came to raw via the draft has been one of if not my favorite character. He has a kind of babyface Stone Cold attitude thing and a little bit of The Rock with the mic at times. I think he has a good character, I just think he can't hold the belt so long becuase it gets annoying like when Triple H had it for so long, or JBL had it for a long time. There has to be a chase and Cena chased it for several years and then he was the man who was the face of the company for the past several years and never took the belt away from him for a long enough period of time. But I think his character is great. He needs a few more moves, which we have seen him use some other moves, but not often enough adn they can't have him hold the title and hog it because then things get predictable. But that is creative's fault. I think Cena is the best thing that happened to RAW, I just think they need to utilize him better when he comes back. Hope he comes back fast and 100% ... so I just wanted to say that kids as I keep reading are not the only Cena fans ...I think that clears a lot of things up and I bet alot of people agree with me in what I have stated.

I was thinking about this earlier, and history definitely says Orton won't win the title. When Edge had to forfeit the title, they gave it to Khali who was nowhere near the title picture. When Batista had to forfeit the title, they gave it to Angle, even though Mark Henry was Batista's challenger. When it was supposed to be Punk vs. Benoit for the ECW title and Benoit didn't show up, they not only replaced him with Morrison but gave him the win. The WWE doesn't like the do the obvious thing in situations like this, and giving Orton the title would be extremely obvious. I think one of two things happen:

A face comes out of nowhere and wins the title and starts fueding with Orton. I'm thinking somebody from SD! or ECW, somebody like the Undertaker or maybe even Mysterio.

A different heel wins the title and fueds with Triple H. Umaga would be logical since he's already fueding with him, but it could be somebody like Kennedy. In this scenario Orton goes after whoever cost him the title(presumably in a battle royal), before turning his attention to Triple H after he beats Umaga or whoever for the title, setting up Triple H vs. Orton at WrestleMania. I wouldn't be SHOCKED if Vince would the title in this scenario, but he just had the ECW title so I'm not sure they do that storyline again so soon.

I don't think anybody like Jericho, HBK, or Lashley comes in and wins the title...there's a reason they're not wrestling now, and I don't see them putting the title on somebody they rushed back on 6 days notice and hasn't been in the ring in months(or years in Jericho's case).

I 100% agree with you. Cena had the title to long but really who else deserved it hands down. You cant name 1 person. He was a sure bet. Now that he is gone. I dont think Orton wins it at No Mercy. I think a few people will be demanding it and out comes Vincent Kennedy McMahon and he either makes a battle royal for it later in the night at No Mercy or we have ourselves a Tournament for the title. I think if its a tournament that Orton will win it but if its a battle royal i reallly have no idea but it wont be Orton and whoever does win the title will then feud with Orton. HHH will continue his feud with Vince until HHH wins the Royal Rumble and takes on Orton at Wrestlemania.

Its not going to be Orton winning the belt, because everyone sees that coming, the WWE will always like was said previous do some stupid battle royal or some other thing and give the belt to someone no one ever thought would get it.

Prediction....... WHO CARES

who said Jericho has not been in the ring in years. Is it not consivable (sp) that he has been staying in shape and or in some kind of training knowing this day would be coming. If Jericho is the kind of star we all think he has, he has been trying to get the ring rust off.

And as far as Hardy being in fueds, does anyone remember the Hardys fued with the Two Man Power Trip back in the day. They were put in a fued, a great one at that, with the two biggest stars in the past fifteen years.

I look for this to be a huge surprise just like when Rey won the Royal Rumble, at least I was shocked with that.

any one see the advertisement for the six man tag team match on raw involving rey mysterio? this says something to me.
hmm. rey mysterio new champion. or atleast in the match to be the new champ?

i said he had two matches...read my post...

and i dont hate hardy nor am i bashing him. i immensely dislike his CHARACTER and what they do with it. now if stating i think he is average is bashing then thats a little extreme on your part.

and im not here to argue and im not wrong.

they reunited the hardys because there was no other tag team with any sort of heat to put over MNM not to mention ecw is total garbage and they needed some big names on the card. if they are so over with the crowd they would be together right now.

seems to me you went to wikipedia lol and just repeated what they say there...

no, he had 2 matches. july 30, where he fell on his head. and then another on august 27. and the matches started in september with nitro. long before the hardys/mnm matches.
transfer champ huh? if i remember, he won it from nitro, lost it to nitro, kept it from november until feb. and who was injured to start that feud? if i recall, he earned the shot by beating orton, kane didnt win the title because of his feud with umaga. no one was injured. and he had a few backstage segments where he was talking about nitro and melina, so just because you hate hardy, dont come on here and bash him. this is where people are stating who they think should be the wwe champ, not to come on here and argue with you over something you're wrong about. MNM didnt even reunite until december, when the hardys issued a challenge for the ecw pay per view. tey reunited the hardys because of how popular they are with the fans.

the matches would HELP determine a #1 contender, not be for the #1 contender. and i seem to recall him winning more matches than losing them since he returned.

um power trip lasted like what two weeks? lol...they won the tag titles, HHH took jeffs IC title and like a week later HHH was out for 8 months with an injury. so if HHH taking jeffs title is a fued then so be it...but id seriously disagree...

no, they actually reunited the hardys for survivor series. and you said his feud with nitro was because mercury was injured, that feud started in september, not after the ecw pay per view. and i dont even go to wikipedia.
mnm wasnt even together when they reunited the hardys, and the hardys won all the matches they had with them, so how did they put mnm over exactly?

actually it was a little longer than that. HHH took the IC belt than they won the tag straps at Judgement day and then lost the tag straps to the hardys. This was after Austin beat the snot out of all of them including Lita with a chair.

what about that poll on wwe.com, with val venis winning, and by alot? lol, what is up with that?

well Venis has been in the business for a long time and apparently we as fans believe that he deserves a push. To me this is all a joke, he is a good wrestler and good on the MIC but early in his career he had his time to shine and so forth.

But for who i believe will be the new champion now is Randy Orton, he was given a huge push and i believe they werent going to make him main event and not let him win one, that would like diminish his legend killer gimmick to some extent. That would be like letting him be in the main event for months and not have him win, that would be like getting buried. Right now Orton is the best fit, he was pushed really hard and was probably gonna get the belt off john cena one way or another. Triple H cant be in the title picture because he is in a little feud with like Carlito Umaga and VKM and imo he still looks a little to sluggish in the ring. Ken Kennedy is a no because he just recently got suspended and he just returned from it. There are no other star power on Raw that would be capable of holding the belt so Randy Orton is probably going to be the champion because he is the best heel right now. But the only other person i can see get the belt other than Orton is VKM himself because he can use that he just defeated HHH 2 weeks in a row, and i wouldn't blame the man and to the furthest of my knowledge ratings tend to go up when he is champ. But i dont see that happening i see Orton as the champ.

Clearly this is the Steven Richards ordeal from Taboo Tuesday of 2004. People are more or less voting for any random guy, to see if the poll is for-real. This is also a prime example on why W.W.E. does NOT listen to what the fans want.

I don't think they have plans on making the next Champion being anyone they didn't already have plans on it being, before. In other words.. Randy Orton.

Orton was rumored time in & time out to be the person to take the Championship off Cena. I doubt anything will change, except for he won't actually be beating Cena, to win it. (technically, if you wanna look at it like this.. Orton beat Cena at Unforgiven, by DQ yes, but a Championship HAS changed hands that way before)

what i dont understand, cena beat umaga in a last man standing match at the rumble this year. and everyone thinks orton was going to win the title at no mercy? what would that say about cena, he can beat someone only 3 other people have beat, and loses the same type of match to orton? i cant see it. and i honestly dont think giving orton the title would be the right move for them. he was listed in the steroid thing, and didnt get suspended. thats already going to make them look bad, and by giving him the title, wouldnt that make it look like they support their guys taking steroids? and stop with the handing hardy a title b.s. their not handing him anything, if you pay attention in his matches he actually has some good matches and isnt being handed anything.

wait wait a second, giving hardy he title wouldn't be such a bad idea because kenneddy was in the steroid thing to, plus hardy is one of the most popular people in he business if not the most popular. and who else are they going to give it to. triple h and umaga are still in the match because umaga is going to smackdown. so it's out of hardy kennedy and orton. or edge could come in

I could see jericho coming back....BUT what if WWE had Jericho and HBK come back and flip the script? I know the stories are already there but "WHAT IF" Jericho comes back and sides with orton and he turns on all the fans.....I know that sounds kinda dumb but dam, that would be funny as hell!

Jeff Hardy has never pissed off management? He recently just got off a 30 day suspension and he wasnt in the wwe for years because of "maturity issues".Jeff is entertaining but have to prove he can work the mic as good as he "works his spots".Look for Orton to take the title after a couple of wrestlers are thrown in his way.

I'm sorry but Jeff Hardy is a terrible wrestler, he's even terrible at being a spot monkey. He's slow to move, pauses and perches to re-gain his balance before leaping, and doesn't even have real wrestling skill like Matt to make up for his shortcomings.

The indie scene and hell even TNA's x division is full of people that can wrestle a good match, and do spots much more fluid and better then Jeff could ever hope to.

Orton for champ only because he was most likely going to become it, not because I'm a fan of his *am getting sick of his boring wrestling style lately*, and have him build up some credible faces on Raw.

Ok, all this is confusing me. Who is in the match? I read on wwe.com that Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton, and a superstar not yet in the RAW roster might have a shot. I'm guessing the unknown superstar is not other than the great Y2J, Chris Jehrico, but I'm still not sure.

The WWE does not listen to what the fans THINK they want, because they (WWE) know what the fans want more than the fans do. Wrestling fans aren't the smartest lot on the planet. All they care about is what they want to see now. They (for the most part, there are exceptions) don't think about the big picture, they don't care about long term storylines...they just think about what they want tonight. The WWE thinks about what they want for the next 3 months, the next 6 months, the next year.

As for Orton winning the title, nah, see my other post. The WWE doesn't do obvious things like that in situations like this. Plus he was never most likely never scheduled to beat him anyway. The most likely scenario is putting it on a face (Undertaker, maybe Kane, maybe Mysterio, etc) and having them take Cena's place in the fued with Orton, eventually losing the title to him (probably at Survivor Series) to set up an Orton vs. Triple H (after winning the Royal Rumble) title match at WrestleMania.
