I have been thinking all day as to who the "texter" could be, there are still quite a few possibilities in my mind and all of them seem logical. It is going to be very interesting to see who WWE eventually decide to go with.
Firstly, lets look at Steph. She seems the logical choice initially, having access to Trip's locker room and therefore his phone. She will obviously know Kevin Nash well through being Hunter's wife and could quite easily call in a favour against the guy who cost her Dad his company. It makes sense. However, I do feel that she seems too obvious, and I really hope WWE aren't just giving the answer to this away so quickly by making it Steph. We need some surprise here I think, and Steph is not the one to provide this. I think (or rather I HOPE) WWE are using Steph as a red herring.
There is Vince. He is the guy who signed Big Sexy on the legends contract. He has the money to pay Nash off, and we all know Big Kev loves the green stuff. Obviously Vince is furious about having lost control of the company, and by getting Nash to take out one of Cena (the guy who failed him) or Punk (his enemy) allows Alberto Del Rio the chance to sneak in and steal the gold, becoming the Champion Vince wants, and perhaps the new Corporate champion. This could work, however it is not the option I want to see.
Thirdly, there is John Laurinaitus. Embarrased by Cena and Punk, and seeing Vince lose power, Johnny Ace could be planning to take over the company. It would be the perfect time for him to do so, but this is DEFINITELY the one I don't want to see, and reason is that most fans do not know who he is. If you don't read about the backstage stuff that goes or, or are a young kid, or just a casual viewer, Johnny ace has no importance or relevance to you. He is just an ordinary looking guy who has just started to be on TV. It would be the wrong option to take in my eyes, although it would make sense.
My fourth suggestion is that it is someone from OUTSIDE the WWE. The names that spring to mind are Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Shane McMahon. It's well known that Foley wants one more match in the WWE, and this would be a way of bringing him in for a high-profile feud. However, Foley spent most of his WWE career as a very popular face and the "texter" is going to be a heel, so Foley is unlikely to be the guy. Same with HBK. It makes sense for him to text his buddy, but if HBK was to come back it would to be a face, not a heel. Finally, we come to Shane O'Mac who would have a bone to pick with both Cena and Punk, after seeing his dad stripped of power in his own company. BUT, Shane has a new career and has cut all ties with the WWE. If we ever see him again on WWE TV it will more than lilkely be a one-off on a special episode of Raw. It won't be him.
One more idea I had was that it is Del Rio himself. Having seen the success that Edge, Punk and others have had cashing in the MITB briefcase after the champion has had long, gruelling matches it would make sense for ADR to do the same. He is a smart guy, and plus he has the money to pay Nash to do his dirty work. It would be a very logical decision by WWE to go this route, and would certainly boost Del Rio's standing as a top level heel.
The last idea I came to was that it is none other than Triple H himself, and that Kevin Nash was telling the truth, and the denial from The Game is, well, Hunter "playing the game", trying to trick the fans. I love Triple H as a heel, he is just better in that role and the Authority Figure on WWE is always better to be a bad guy, trying to get one up on the faces. Now, I have one question.....
After spending so long trying to establish themselves in positions of power during their careers, COULD THIS BE THE TIME THE KLIQ ACTUALLY TAKES OVER????
Triple H is the guy in charge now, he can basically do what he wants and bringing in Big Sexy as his number 2 and back up would be awesome in my opinion. I would pay through the damm nose to see HHH, Nash and Sean Waltman in the ring in suits together having finally become the top dogs in the WWE and have the Kliq running things on Raw. It would be fucking awesome. Hell, if that happened then even try and bring back HBK in some kind of non-wrestling role as I really doubt that The Kliq would get booed, even if they were the bad guys. People would love to see them all together in the ring for the first time.
BUT, if I had to say which way WWE were going to go with this, I would probably put my money on it being either Del Rio or HHH himself, with either option hiring Nash as back-up. I can't see The Kliq idea happening, Steph seems too obvious, bringing Vince back so soon would be a mistake, Johnny Ace wouldnt have any impact and the Foley/HBK/Shane idea is probably too unrealistic. I personally want it to be The Game, leading to the Kliq taking over but I doubt that will happen
