Perkins is not nearly that bad JMT. He's a good defensive player, and considering all the talent around him, all he needs to do is not turn the ball over and we're good.
And no FTS, I hardly think winning 4 more games than a Celtics team that was as injury plagued as our team was last year is a big vote of confidence for the Cavs. I'd take the Celtics starting five over the Cavs any day.
Anyone else a fan of Birdman Chris Anderson? Him and David Lee are two of my favorites as well...
You're clearly a racist.![]()
And nevermind that Perkins has a 10 point high shooting percentage, triple the blocks, and more rebounds, right?
Brandon Bass wasn't shooting threes bro. He was taking the same shots Perkins was, and if his shooting percentage is lower because he was taking jumpers, then he needs to take stock of his game and make better decision.
I would take Perkins over Bass any day of the week, and so would anyone else who knows anything at all about basketball.
And like you said, bass played 20 minutes, Perkins played 30. The ratios in blocks and rebounds don't compute. Plus, PPG is a dumb way to evaluate the two. Bass was the second option on the second team, Perkins was the seventh option on the first team. Perkins is a million times the player Bass dreams about being.
He doesn't need to score on his team. He is perfect.
Lol. Perkins and perfect mentioned together. Hilarious.
Actually Bass is a much more versatile offensive player and he shoots a lot of jumpers. Bass isn't a traditional big man. He can score facing up as well as with his back to the basket. Perkins is a product of the talent around him. If you put Bass in Boston last year and Perkins in Dallas, I guarantee Bass would have better numbers.
And Bass didn't play with the second team as much as you think. He came off the bench, but he often would finish the game alongside the starters. This year it will be easier to see that Bass is the better player. Both guys are on good teams, with good lineups, and will play similar minutes.
And I'm sure I know more about basketball then you will ever know.

Also if the Spurs started McDyess and Ginobili over Michael Finley and Matt Bonner then they could be considered.
Look at you FTS, stealing my "if you don't agree with me you don't know anything" routine. Look who's a prick now eh?![]()
Manu is effective as a sixth man. As a starter he is not. He is a hell of a basketball player but he seems to produce a lot more when he comes off the bench.
Championships aren't won on paper.
I would argue that it's more important to finish the game than start it.
