Third Eye Blind "Wounded"

This song popped up today while I was letting my IPOD go crazy in shuffle mode. Made me think of a girl I used to know that lost her way...I wonder if she ever found it.

The Nosebleed Section - Hilltop Hoods

I love the Hilltop Hoods and this is probably my favorite song of theirs. The beat and music are perfect, and the MCs totally flow well. Some great rhymes too. Australian rap has a really unique sound to it, but to be honest the Hilltop Hoods are the only Aussie rap group I listen to. They're the only ones that really appeal to me, while the rest try to be too much like every other main stream rap group. With songs like this, I can see why the Hilltop Hoods have become respected artists worldwide. Also, a lot of people think this song makes no sense. They refer to the "nosebleed section," but throughout the song they also call it the "front row." At rap concerts the nosebleed section is in the front where the people mosh, not in the far back all the way up in the worst seats. You just learned something. ;)

My boy Liam Gallagher returned to the public eye last week with the release of Beady Eye's debut album "Different Gear, Still Speeding". This is the opening track off that CD, and one that stands out as something that would have been at home on one of Oasis's later releases.

While the majority of the album has strong Beatles influences, this is more aggressive rock 'n' roll, with Liam bringing up the demise of Oasis with the line "Nothing lasts...forever!"

I am curious to know what the four letter word is...my gut instinct is that he is talking to his brother Noel (whose name has 4 letters), after their falling out led to the break up of Oasis.

You’re all grown up
Don’t you ever wanna play?

You’ve had enough
Staring out of those dead end eyes
It’s gonna be tough
The battle’s on and there’s always a prize

The battle between the brothers to have the better individual career after Oasis is well and truly on. Noel was the main songwriter and everyone thinks he will be successful while Liam has surprised everyone with his new band releasing material first, and throwing down the gauntlet for Noel.

Come on Chief, lets see what you have got to come back with. Round One goes to Arr Kid.

Tonight - Enrique Iglesias ft Ludacris

My friend told me to youtube this song some days back. I wasn't bothered but he kept bugging me about it so I checked it out.. It was alright but I didn't go crazy about it. Some hours back I remembered how catchy the song was and I played it. I've been raping the replay button for sometime now.

Bambi by Tokyo Police Club

I always liked Tokyo Police Club, and had heard this song before (from listening to the album), but only when I had heard it recently did I realize just how much I love it. That synth just kicks so much ass. I've been playing it over and over the past few days. It's just so damn addictive! I hope I don't get too burnt out on it or I'll grow to hate it.

Great great great song. I remember loving this when it was released. By far the "rockiest" track Robbie has ever released, I am a big fan of Kiss-inspired make-up on the video.

This is the perfect song to start a gig, as Robbie is asking the fans to allow him to entertain them. Ironic, as they will all be loving it the second this track comes on.

Robbie Williams- Greatest Hits is a fantastic CD, far better than his more recent compilation CD where he is riding a motorbike on the cover.

Temple of the Dog, "Say Hello to Heaven." Had to stop during my morning workout and really listen to this when it popped up on the IPOD.

Cornell just has an amazing voice and style, and Temple really set the tone in the early 90's for what music should be. Why can't there be more stuff like this today?

"Find Yourself" by John O'Callaghan

I enjoy all types of music, including dance, and this song got stuck in my head last night even though it was released about 9 months ago. It's by an Irish DJ named John O'Callaghan, who I met when the original song was released with vocals by Sarah Howell's, who has a very melodic voice.

If you're into relaxing, up-beat music and enjoy dance. I recommend you take a look.

The Mars Volta: "The widow"

I recently rediscovered this band, fucking epic band :worship:. Lately I've been more onto the progressive scene, and this band fits perfectly that tag. I'm sure if TMV were a band from the 60's, today we would talk about Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Machine Head, David Bowie and The Mars Volta. Stupid current music industry... :disappointed:

The Dead Weather: "Hustle and cuss"

I needed to post this one too. I'm not particulary very fon of The White Stripes, but one day I was watching TV, it was very late, and the "live from abbey road" was on. I like the show it always show me new bands alternative, and then I saw Jack White. I stayed tuned and well it got me, I love the blues and well the blues-rock genre is pefect for me. It's simple and at the same time it's alternative and sometimes progressive/experimental. I fell in love with the band and this song in particulary.

I had the legendary debut album from the Stone Roses playing on the way to work this morning. "Bye Bye Badman" is one of the lesser known tracks from the album, but a big fan favourite. It was the last song I listened to today so far.

It wouldn't make my greatest hits of The Stone Roses collection, but it is a pleasant track, very relaxed and perfect for playing in the sun on a Monday morning. Ian Brown's vocals stand out for me here, and it is a catchy tune.

Jason Paige - The Pokémon Theme

Ladies and gents, I present to you, what I think is one of the reasons a lot of people fell in love with the Pokémon anime. This theme right here is so full of emotion, so full of passion and so full of entertainment, that it's fantastic. Not only that but the things catchy and addictive. A deadly combo. More deadly than parafusion! I've had this thing stuck in my head and it gives me Goosebumps every single time I listen to it. And it has a surprisingly good guitar solo in it. Fangasm over now.

I was a bit shook up by news of Nate's death yesterday. I don't usually get affected by celebrity deaths, there are only a few that hit home and this was on of them. I am meeting a friend of mine for drinks of Friday to toast the memory of one of our cult heroes.

In tribute I put together a compilatio CD of all my favourite Nate tracks, and also any great songs he has featured on (he has been on over 100?!), and was playing this CD in the car today.

Absolutely great tune, possibly the most chilled out, smooth driving song I have ever heard. G-Funk at its absolute finest, with the legendary Nate Dogg voice crooning over the beat. Awesome

RIP Big Man

I just love this song for some reason. Most of you will recognize this as Drew McIntyre's theme song and that is a large part of why I like it so much. I used to be very critical of Drew, but this song alone has turned me into a fan.

I know this isn't a wrestling thread, so I'll keep this about music. This song just gets me pumped. I don't know what it's about and I don't care about the lyrics. There's just something about the darker tones that make me want to curb stomp someone on a pair of steel steps.

Huh. Well I guess I understand now.

Nice pick, Drew definitely has one of the best theme songs in the business right now.

As for what I am listening to right now, this is the song that is currently on the radio at the moment. A true 1980's pop classic from 2 brothers who went on to become pretty successful actors, and put on great performances as Ronnie and Reggie in The Krays, which is a brilliant movie.

They are Gary and Martin Kemp, they are Spandau Ballet and this is "Gold"

The song I'm currently listening to is Bon Jovi's: Everyday.

Bon Jovi has been one of my favorite groups for a while now. I find this song to be my favorite for a few reason's. It's rock, it relates to me, and has a good story. I heard it a couple summers ago and I can't get it out of my head. I just can't stop listening to it

I’m currently just listening back to some of my old favorites. This is The Killers, Losing touch. Like the beat, the rhythm, the lyrics etc. It's not too heavy, so I can bare it, anything heavier than this, I probably wouldn't listen to it. I love the Killers, one of my favorite bands. Like their style of music, nearly all of their songs, bar a couple. I just like to sit back, close my eyes, and listen to some Killers. Helps me relax and just forget about anything else going on outside the headphones.

Till I Collapse
Eminem feat. Nate Dogg

Yeah, so I've yet to actually pay any type of tribute to the recent passing of Nate Dogg, so I figure I'd do it now with one of my favorite songs futuring Nate Dogg. From his album The Eminem Show, the song Till I Collapse by Eminem focuses on Eminem's ability to cause huge amounts of controversy over a few lyrics. He talks about people misinterpreting his lyrics and not actually knowing what it is he is talking about. One of my favorite lines from the song is where he is listing his most inspiring rappers. Great rappers like Kurupt, Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z etc, but when he isn't compared or added to the list of great rappers, it doesn't bother him because they're envious. Eminem's lyrics here can't just be interpreted through one listen, Em's lyrics go deeper than that. Sucks this song didn't really get the credit it deserved because Em does a great job here. Nate Dogg did a phenomenal job in back up vocals and lead vocals for the chorus. Dude had a great singing voice and here, he shows it. Damn.

R.I.P. Nate Dogg.

Amazing song. Again a song that may not be as popular as the other tracks but Plant in his full swing here. One of the best debut albums ever as well.

The title track, and the final song from Alice In Chains latest album, which features Elton John on piano and is a heart-felt tribute from Jerry Cantrell to his close friend and former lead singer Layne Staley.

It is a heartbreaking piece of music, which was wonderful to see played live. It may not be to everyones tastes being totally different from other AIC songs, but I think its great and a fitting tribute to Layne.

RIP

Foo Fighters-Rope

From their forthcoming album. I actually had to listen to listen to this a few times before it grew on me but its a great song. Dave Grohl's singing is as great as ever, The guitar riffs are excellent and the drumming is awesome.

This song popped up on the shuffle this morning on the drive to work.

Smashing Pumpkins, 1979

I'll always remember this song for being the 1st song I heard on the radio on my 16th birthday. I took the morning off from school to take my driver's test. After I passed, and I was allowed to legally take my white Chevy Blazer out by myself, 1979 was the first song that came on the radio.

I still get chills when I hear it...take me back and makes me feel like a kid again.

Morrissey's first solo single after the break-up of The Smiths, and I would say it rivals anything that his former band released.

"Suedehead" is a fantastic record, so relaxing and catchy and Moz's vocals are at their very best. Much of his solo material I do not care for, but he has released a few brilliant tracks and I would say that, along with "Every Day Is Like Sunday", this is his best.
