What Pay Per Veiw would you change and why?

avriltt234

Occasional Pre-Show
There have been a couple of threads on here asking people what they would change about certain PPVS like WrestleMania 24.

My Question is what Pay Per View would you change and what would you change about it?

There are a ton on cruddy B-rated PPV's that I would change and almost every PPV from 2005-20010 where Cena wins a world title to close the show, Not to mention Extreme Rules 2012-MitB 2012 Cena winning & closing out the show, but I will pick one that really stands out to me:

WRESTLEMANIA 25

1.) HBK/Taker I NEEDED & DESERVED to end the show. Best match ever IMO & the shear energy in that building for that match was AMAZING!
2.) HHH/Orton should have been 2nd to last & been NO HOLDS BARRED! This match was WAY too slow paced & technical, ESPECIALLY AFTER Taker & WHC matches. Adding a hardcore stipulation could have really brought this feud full circle.
3.) NO KID ROCK! A WASTE OF TIME! A would have given Hardy's Extreme Rules match almost 25 min. & about 5 min. to IC title match.
4.) I would have switched Divas Battle Royal & The Dark Tag Match. The girls didn't even get introduced and Santina went on to do nothing! The tag match was pretty good & unifing the titles played a BIG part in WWE later on that year!(Jeri-Show,DX,Show-Miz,Jericho/Edge feud)
5.) As much as it plesently suprised me, I wouldn't have made the WHC title a triple threat. I would have preferred Cena vs. Edge & Big Show vs. Legends, that way atleast beating 4 legends makes sense.
6.) The MitB ladder match. I would have added Chris Jericho, ECW champion Jack Swagger, William Regal, Cody Rhodes w/Dibiase & Manu & Evan Bourne to CM Punk, Christian, Kane, Shelton Benjamin, & Kofi Kingston. Have Jericho win his creation at the 25th Anniversary of Mania and later cash it in to win the WWE championship. Before that though, Punk would turn heel & attack Jericho & try and take the breifcase from him before strating the feud with Jeff.

Note: I was there and this Mania was great but with these changes could have possibly been the best of all time IMO.

Also another PPV that comes to mind that could have been ALOT better was:

THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH 2008
- Cena vs. Lashley could have been EPIC. And if Lashley won the WWE title I think it would have done EVERYONE good. Lashley was over, good, & a fresh face. He could have done ALOT more, especially on RAW & w/the WWE Championsip.
- Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy could have won the U.S. & I.C. titles respectively, but both matches were kinda short and w/weak heel endings.
- A decent triple threat ended with Khali as World Champ?! DOH!!! The very second in time WWE had someone to take the title off of him, why didn't they do it?!?!?!?!??!!
- Morrison vs. Punk should have been given more time. Not to mention Punk DESERVED to win that title on PPV, not an ECW taping.

Note: I really wish Benoit showed up & won the ECW title that night instead of any tragic events that occured. That would have been AMAZING!

I'm going with Starrcade 87. That was a crucial night for the NWA as they were forced to go head to head with the WWF's Survivor Series. The NWA could of generated a lot more interest if they made the most of their recent buyout of the UWF. Flair goes into Starrcade as World Champ. So here goes,

Ric Flair vs Dr. Death Steve Williams-Steel Cage Unification Title bout
Blanchard/Anderson vs Road Warriors-Tag Title bout
Lex Luger vs Barry Windham-US Title bout
Dusty Rhodes vs Manny Fernandez-Street Fight
Rock N Roll Express vs Midnight Express
Nikita Koloff vs Ivan Koloff- Russian Chain bout
Sting vs Eddie Gilbert-NO DQ
Sheepherders vs Fantastics-Texas Tornado bout
Ron Garvin vs Kevin Sullivan-Tape Fist bout
Terry Taylor vs Mike Rotonda- TV title bout
Freebirds vs Larry Zbysko/Rick Steiner

Wrestlemania 25

First match should've been - Rey Rey v JBL not MITB. And it should've been atleast 12 mins.
2nd -MITB and I dont have a problem with CM Punk winning it since his heel title reign after this was entertaining unlike his current one.
3rd - Diva battle Royal with NO Santina. Since it was 25th aniversary WWE shouldve made an attempt to bring someone like Trish or Lita for this
4th - Jericho v Legends - Wouldve loved to see Mick Foley in the match. But props to Steamboat for making much of a joke match.
5th - Matt Hardy v Jeff Hardy
6th - Cena v Edge v Big Show - I would've had Edge win by conjuring up some dirty work
7th - UT v Shawn (Since the rematch was gonna rightfully mainevent the next WM it's okay for it to be the penultimate match esp since we all knew what the result of this epic match would be)
8th - Triple H v Orton - dont mind Trips winning but it shouldve been with McMahons & Legacy interfering with pretty close calls and in the end with Trips celebrating with the McMahons similar to the way Benoit and Eddie did. Afterall Trips & Orton's war started because of Randy taking his revenge on Trips by taking out the McMahons

There's too many I would change for me to name here, but one thing I would change is that the Royal Rumble winner's match would be the main event of every WrestleMania, with the sole exception of WM26. Other than something massive like HBK's retirement that year, NOTHING should be higher billed than the Rumble winner's title shot. And the other World championship match should always be immediately before the Rumble winner's match. Ever since WM23, WWE has put "distance" between the high-profile matches at most PPVs, and I hate it. The most important 3 or 4 matches on a card should be the last 3 or 4 matches on the card, ALWAYS.

I'd change Survivor Series 1997.

NO screwjob for Bret. He does the clean job to HBK, OR a "booked" screwjob. Then goes to WCW.

The reason I'd change that, is then when WCW closed down in 2001, we could have seen Bret back in the WWE right away (maybe even before WCW closing) and we could have see him main eventing with the likes of Jericho, benoit, HHH, Angle and more!

Now I know thats quite the stretch.. but thats my answer!

THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH 2008

Note: I really wish Benoit showed up & won the ECW title that night instead of any tragic events that occured. That would have been AMAZING!

This was the 2007 GAB and the Benoit incident occurred a month earlier during Vengeance: Night of Champions

I can't recall an ENTIRE PPV I would have changed but there are matches to others I would have changed

I would have had Mankind go over Taker at KOTR '98. Had he gone over, people wouldn't just be talking about the 2 big spots but would be talking about how he still managed to win.

Wrestlemania 8, I would have had Savage/Flair end the show instead of Hogan/Justice. I think a title match SHOULD end the PPV and Hogan/Justice wasn't enough of a marquee match to end the PPV. Granted hindsight is 20/20, it also helps my cause that the entire Justice/Hogan ending went HORRIBLY wrong on so many levels and the Warrior return (that I assume is what led to that match ending the show) went no where and Warrior was gone a few months later.

However the biggest one for me would have to be Luger/Yokozuna from Summerslam 93. I've heard reports that the reason Luger didn't win is because the Lex Express wasn't getting over enough. Regardless of how over the Lex Express became, I still feel with the time and money spent he should have gone over. However if they didn't want Luger to win they should have had Yoko beat Luger in the ring. The count-out victory for Luger seemed like a very flat finish to the PPV.

My mistake on the typo, it was GAB 2007.

And while the Benoit incident HAPPENED around NOC 2007, I have heard multiple sources claim it was Great American Bash 2007 in which he was supposed to win the ECW Championship and from what I hear, at the time was going to have a very long reign with the title. That's why the Punk/Morrison was thrown together with guys like Miz & Evan Bourne eventually getting involved, when they weren't really to carry a whole brand.

The most important 3 or 4 matches on a card should be the last 3 or 4 matches on the card, ALWAYS.
And I COMPLETELY AGREE with this. That's why I made the comment about Cena ending all current PPV's. World Titles & HIGHLY billed feuds like the Royal Rumble winner, should ALWAYS take higher billing over A Hollywood movie Star(Not just Rocky, But SNOOKI?!? & That BS!) & people with the last name Cena.

Wrestlemania 26.
1) I would have put the tag team title match on the pre-show. It didn't get nearly enough time and was a poor start to the show, but the card was so stacked that there was no chance of it getting the time it needed to shine.
2) Open with Money In the Bank. It's exciting, you don't necessarily need much background story to it, and it gives the show some oomph from the get-go.
3) The WHC match next. No disrespect to Edge or Y2J, but it was never going to be the match of the night, and the title didn't seem as important as The Streak or the WWE title or even Hart's revenge. Put it on here, slow the pace down, get some big names out there to set the precedent of good wrestling.
4) Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon. Don't get the Harts involved; just make it a Street Fight a la McMahon-Hogan and let them brawl to the conclusion. Better to watch, and is the first dramatic "story" of the night. (Like putting HHH-Taker in the middle of WM 28).
5) CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio. Gets back into the "wrestling" side of things, and not as dramatic as the previous bout. They did some fine work here anyway.
6) Orton vs Rhodes vs DiBiase. Another good match, breaks the monotony of singles match after singles match.
7) HHH vs Sheamus. I was OK with HHH going over here, especially as Sheamus looked so dominant anyway, and again it's a slugfest so it mixes the card up a bit.
8) Cena vs Batista. However I'd have Batista go over here, as his title reign was only just beginning, plus the faces went over pretty much all night, and it'd be Batista's second win over Cena at a grand stage (after SummerSlam) so he'd look like Cena's bogeyman (making the eventual triumph that much sweeter).
9) Divas Match. Women deserve a spot on the card, plus it gives the audience a break after the title match and/or a toilet break for those at home who don't care about them.
10) Taker vs Michaels. What can I say? This was perfect.

I had another PPV that came to mind as very good, but could have been EPIC!!!!!

WRESTLEMANIA 27:
Wrestlmania Guest Host: The Rock
(In order of appearence)

-DARK MATCH: The Corre(Barrett, Gabriel, Slater, & Jackson) vs. The Big Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston, & Santino
-Alberto Del Rio w/Ricardo vs. Booker T
-Grudge Match: Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes
-Unted States Championship: Daniel Bryan(c) vs. Sheamus
-Divas Championship: Beth Phoenix(c) vs. Trish Stratus vs. Kelly Kelly
-World Heavyweight Championship: Edge(c) vs. Christian
-Ladder Match for the I.C. Title: John Morrison(c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
-John Cena vs. The Miz w/Alex Riley - Special Referee: Stone Cole Steve Austin
-No Holds Barred: Triple H vs. The Undertaker
-WWE Championship: Randy Orton(c) vs. CM Punk(Royal Rumble Winner)

That stupid squash with the Corre should have actually been a match and been the dark match. Bryan & Sheamus deserved a solid 15 min. match with most likely Sheamus coming out on top. Del Rio was pushed too soon & should have had a match beating a legend like Booker T. Cody & Rey was great but should have been billed higher. NO ONE wanted to see Snooki, why not Trish putting over Beth?! Christian/Edge at Mania for the world title would have been EPIC! SO MUCH HISTORY THERE! I would still have Edge walk out as champ. With no MitB, why not a ladder match featuring the two best young talent? I would have LOVED to see this match! Morrison retains. Miz & Cena didn't deserve the main event. But why not add SCSA to this match instead of the Lawler match?! That means SCSA & Rocky interacting on stage!!!! Instead of a segment backstage & even more legends to boost the match, with Rocky still costing Cena. HHH/Taker was PERFECT! But should have been 2nd too last or last. Punk should have won the Rumble and beaten Orton for the title, maybe the Summer of Punk 2.0 would have gone over even bigger?!

3) The WHC match next. No disrespect to Edge or Y2J, but it was never going to be the match of the night,
Also I found this HIGHLY ironic, as I would easily call Edge/Y2J match of the night at Mania 26. HBK/Taker II was different than HBK/Taker I, but nowhere near better IMO. But to each his own.

I would probably change Survivor Series 2001 but it would be very minor changes.

I would of made Jericho jump to WCW instead of Kurt Angle just because Jericho was a WCW guy originally so it made sense for him to join and it would of made the match seem more authentic than just a bunch of turncoat WWF guys vs loyal WWF guys.

Shane, Booker, Jericho, RVD, and Austin just on paper seemed like a more logical WCW/ECW team due to their history. Even remove Shane and put in DDP or Ric Flair(considering he came out the next night wouldnt have hurt to bring him in a month prior)

I would've changed the WWF Invasion card just a little bit. I realize none of the major WCW stars couldn't be there because they were still under contract to Time Warner at the time, so I'm gonna be realistic & leave them off and will also leave off The Rock & HHH since Rock was doing his film and Trips was injured. If I were to include those guys in, it would be more like a fantasy card rather than a realistic card.

1) Edge & Christian vs. The Impact Players (Justin Credible & Lance Storm)

2) WWF Light Heavyweight Champion vs. WCW Cruiserweight Champion
X-Pac vs. Billy Kidman

3) WWF Tag Team Champions vs. WCW Tag Team Champions
APA vs. Kronik

4) Chris Kanyon vs. William Regal

5) Taz vs. Tajiri

6) Raven vs. Matt Hardy

7) Sean O' Haire, Chuck Palumbo, Tommy Dreamer vs. Billy Gunn, Albert, Big Show

8) Hardcore Match
Mike Awesome vs. Hardcore Holly

9) WWF Hardcore Championship
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy

10) Team Alliance (Booker T, DDP, Rhyno & The Dudley Boyz) vs. Team WWF (Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Undertaker & Kane)

Wrestlemania 27
This had potential to be great.
1. US Title: Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan
This should have opened the show. Having it be the dark match was stupid. Daniel Bryan and Sheamus could have put on a great match to start the show. It would got the crowd going. Have battle royal in the dark match.
Backstage segment
The rock announces that the WWE Championship main event will be a no disqualification match and that Alex Riley will be banned from ringside.
2.Mixed tag match
3.Cole vs Lawler
Just have it be shorter.
4.Randy Orton vs CM Punk
5.World Heavyweight Championship:Edge vs Christian vs Alberto Del Rio
Edge wins. It would be his last match. He deserves it.
6.Streak Match:No Holds Barred. Undertaker. Triple H. Enough said.
7.Rhodes vs Rey
8.WWE Championship:The Miz vs John Cena.
Have them go back and forth with the weapons for 15-20 minutes until The Rock comes out. He watches from ringside for a bit until he comes in and Rock Bottoms' Cena and Miz wins. Miz gets a Peoples Elbow and Rock celebrates as the PPV ends

wrestlemania 26:
it was a show with a lot of potential and with great matches:
dark-finlay wins the 26 man over the top rope battle royal by last eliminating zack ryder.
1}rey mysterio defeated Cm Punk
2}10 diva tag team match.
3}money in the bank ladder match.
4}chris jericho {C} defeated edge
5}bret hart defeated Mr.McMahon
6}big show & the miz {C} defeated john morrison & R-truth
7}triple H defeated sheamus
8}randy orton defeated cody rhodes & ted dibiase
9}john cena defeated batista {c}
10}the undertaker defeated shawn michales

Most of us had our own dream cards or predicted cards going into each of the Pay Per Views, ofcourse I disliked some cards or thought that some cards could have been better or changed for good.

Wrestlemania 25: (Except for HBK/Taker, no other matches on the card interested me, it was silver jubilee Wrestlemania so I expected it to be big and interesting. I changed 5 out of the 8 matches on the card). So I may change it:

John Cena vs Randy Orton- WWE Championship (Referee: Stone Cold)
HHH vs Edge- World Heavyweight Championship
The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels
Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy- Extreme Rules Match
Chris Jericho vs Ricky Steamboat
CM Punk vs Christian- IC Title
25 Diva Battle Royal
MITB: Rey Mysterio vs Kane vs MVP vs Shelton Benjamin vs Kofi Kingston vs Finlay vs JBL vs The Bigshow

I would change the 2000 King of the Ring Tournament, Kurt Angle will still win but did we really need the finals to be Rikishi vs. Kurt Angle? Especially when Benoit and Jericho were in the tournament. I would have the Bracket look like this ...

Here's the original tournament

- Quarter Finals-
Val Venis def. Eddie Guerrero
Rikishi def. Chris Benoit via DQ
Crash Holly def. Bull Buchanan
Kurt Angle def. Chris Jericho

- Semi Finals-
Kurt Angle def. Crash Holly
Rikishi def. Val Venis

- Finals -
Kurt Angle def. Rikishi
- See the problem here Jericho, Eddie, Benoit all were eliminated in the 1st round. Killing any interest in the tournament. It's cool too see Angle win the tournament but with Benoit and Jericho gone in the 1st round it was obvious Angle was winning this.

This is how I would have changed it w/o changing the participants

-Quarter Finals-
Chris Jericho def. Chris Benoit - Yes this will be Quarter Final bout but really, why not have a great opening round match to get the crowd going. I mean these two were feuding anyways so why not have them in a match?
Eddie Guerrero def. Bull Buchanan
Kurt Angle def. Crash Holly - Short Match
Rikishi def. Val Venis - Rikishi wins but Val Venis attacks Rikishi for revenge

- Semi Finals -
Kurt Angle def. Rikishi - Rikishi enters hurt but Val Venis attacks him during his entrance. Then Angle capitalizes and beats a hurt Rikishi in a short match. Saving time in the tournament while setting up the eventual Val Venis/Rikishi feud which actually had a pretty good cage match next month.
Chris Jericho def. Eddie Guerrero - Another great match with Jericho and Guerrero.

-Finals-
Kurt Angle def. Chris Jericho
So here's the story. Chris Jericho, who was already crazy over probably the 2nd or 3rd most over face at the time since Austin was injured, had to face two grueling matches with Benoit and Guerrero. While Kurt Angle, also over as a heel, made it to the finals rather easily. Both were equal in skill and credibility at the time, though Jericho probably had more, but the more rested Angle was able to beat Jericho in the finals. It would still be a solid match.

I would change WrestleMania's IX and XI. These are considered two of the weaker cards in WWF history and I think the potential was there for each card to be saved.

WrestleMania IX:
Matches that should remain:

Shawn V Tatanka and Perfect v Luger

Outside of that everything else should have been changed one way or another.

Money Inc v Steiners:
This one is a no brainer for me. Steiners were new, but they were the hottest face tag team and a WM title victory could have been really huge for them and maybe kept them around longer.

Razor v Crush:
Just about anything would have been better then Backlund. The purpose of Razor's match was to put him further over as a heel. Crush could have accomplished this better.

Yokozuna v Macho:
Yoko should have still been getting over as a top heel instead of winning the title here. With my revised ending to the Rumble (shown later) Yoko could have had a match against the man he eliminated and going over on Macho would have made Yoko a greater opponent for Bret down the road.

Undertaker v Bam Bam:
Just like the Razor situation, anything would have been better then Gonzalez. Bam Bam was supposed to be on the card but was pulled. These two could have had a great match and this could have given Taker his first big WM wim much sooner then it originaly happened (WM XII).

Bret v Hogan:
This should have been the main event for this card. Bret should have got his big win here to fully propel him as the top face of the company. Hogan could have been a suprise entrant in the 93 Rumble at like 28, 29 or 30 and win to set up this title match.

Also Doink would have been involved as he was a character for them back then. He would have went over on a lesser level face.

Updated card:
World Title Match: Bret Hart v Hulk Hogan
IC Title Match: Shawn Michaels v Tatanka
Tag Title Match: Money Inc v Steiners
Yokozuna v Macho Man
Undertaker v Bam Bam Bigelow
Razor Ramon v Crush
Doink v mid card face
Any tag team match

WrestleMania XI:
Matches that should remain:

Yoko and Owen v Smoking Guns, Diesel v Shawn (with added wrinkle), LT v Bigelow (but not the last match)

Changes:
Starting with Luger and Bulldog. They should have been pitted against one another which would have lead to them being a tag team. They could have had the first of 2 singles matches here with a rematch at the following IYH PPV. After splitting the matches they team up and go after Yoko and Owen at SummerSlam.

Razor should have still had his IC title and been involved with Diesel and Shawn for a triple threat IC title match. This assumes, Diesel never wins the title and Shawn doesn't win the Rumble.

Since Jarrett never beat Razor, he would move on to the 1-2-3 kid

Bret would beat Backlund at Survivor Series and retain the title up to Mania. Taker would come back from his injury and take care of the Million Dollar Corporation and Yokozuna sooner to set himself up to win the Rumble:

Updated card:
World Title Match: Bret Hart v Undertaker
IC Title Match: Razor Ramon v Diesel v Shawn Michaels
Tag Title Match: Smoking Guns v Owen Hart and Yokozuna
Lawrence Taylor v Bam Bam Bigelow
Lex Luger v British Bulldog
Jeff Jarrett v 1-2-3 Kid
One or Two more filler matches depending on time left on card.

Not that I would have a problem with a Angle/Jericho final, but Angle and Rikishi put on a great match. Angle belly to belly suplexing Rikishi off the top rope was a great spot and ending to that match. Also Rikishi was being pushed alot at that time as it was just a few months before he was revealed as the guy who ran over Austin.

I recently rewatched the 92 Rumble and WrestleMania along with reading up on the goings on during this time and have came up with an alternate WrestleMania VII.

Opening Bout: Papa Shango vs The Ultimate Warrior

Instead of using these guys for the run in DQ spot to kickstart their fued, I would have this be the opening match. I would start with Shango coming to the ring first and the announcers saying that he has a mystery opponent. As everyone waits to see who it is, Warrior's music hits and the place erupts. The match itself would be short (like 3-5 minutes) with Warrior dominating up until the end where Shango wither gets himself counted out or disqualified. This would not only start their fued but also keep it going. But most importantly, this would be a great way to get the crowd jacked from the start.

2nd Match: Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart

Shawn originaly fought Tito and Owen fought Skinner. I think they would have been better served facing each other. At the time these where two young up and comers both fresh off the tag scene. Give these guys 10 minutes of some fast paced back and fourth action and no matter who wins they each get good exposure and a showcase for their skills in this match.

3rd Match: WWF Tag Team Title Match Money Inc (c) vs Legion of Doom

Money Inc defended the titles against The Natural Disasters and LOD redebuted with a promo. It was about two months prior to this night when Money Inc. won the titles against LOD to set up their departure. With LOD back by Mania, they should have challenged Money Inc. to a rematch for the titles and won. This wouldn't have been anything special, but LOD was huge back then and the fans would have been into this match for the 6-8 minutes that it lasted.

4th Match: Tatanka vs Rick Martel

This was a WrestleMania VIII match and I would not change a thing about it. Tatanka was on his streak and Martel was a good heel for him to continue it with. This match also gives the fans a chance to relax before the next match.

5th Match: Intercontinental Title Match Roddy Piper (c) vs Bret Hart

Another original WM VIII match that needs no alterations. This was a great match which served to push Hart furthur and begin his assention to the main event.

6th Match: The Undertaker vs Sid Justice

With Undertaker becoming face shortly before this match, and Sid becoming heel this would have worked. Also with Vince's preference of monster wrestling matches this makes sense. With the changed card, if this would have changed future events and Sid would have been on the roster longer maybe Sid wins as he was pushed pretty hard at this time. But if Sid was still on his way out shortly after this event then Taker would get a huge win and a great way to begin his face turn. Either way this would have been around 10-12 minutes of power moves.

7th Match: Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs Macho Man Randy Savage

These guys had a pretty intense fued at the time and a match here made sense. Now, this could have been some sort of gimmick match like a steel cage or no DQ as the fued was intense. Either way these guys could have put on a great 15-20 minute battle.

8th Match: The Nasty Boys vs The Natural Disasters

Pure filler to break up the upper midcard matches with the main event. These teams were relevant back then and so was the divison so this match makes sense (especially since The Natural Disasters just turned face). This would have been a 5-7 minute match where the winner is of no real concern.

Lex Luger Interview

I would still have this happen at Mania. The purpose was to pimp Vince's new bodybuilding league so it serves its purpose and having it here gives more buildup to the main event.

Main Event: WWF Title Match Ric Flair (c) vs Hulk Hogan

This was the match Vince and everyone else had in mind when Flair joined the WWF back in 91 so it only makes sense to happen here. While this means that Flair v Savage doesn't happen here they could have always had that match latter on like at SummerSlam. This is Mania and it deserved Flair v Hogan. Now this match wouldn't have been anything special in terms of the wrestling, but the phsycology and fan reaction would have been enough for this match to last a solid 20 minutes. With Hogan on his way out for nearly a year after this Flair retaining makes the most sense with it occuring through some sort of cheating. Now this couldn't happen because Vince couldn't feed his guy to Flair, but I don't have that problem. This also continues to push Flair which should have been the focus all along. Following this, the focus could then be shifted to Warrior, Macho, Taker, or Sid.

I recently rewatched the 92 Rumble and WrestleMania along with reading up on the goings on during this time and have came up with an alternate WrestleMania VII.

Opening Bout: Papa Shango vs The Ultimate Warrior

Wrestlemania 8 was my favorite Wrestlemania ever. Im very torn about keeping Savage/Flair or going with the orginal plan and dream match of Hogan/Flair. I do like the blow off of Savage/Jake in a cage. That could have been epic. Sid/Taker is the obvious choice for the big man match and would have worked pretty well. But remember, by changing Savage/Roberts and Hogan/Flair there is no Sid heel turn and no Taker face turn so Sid is the face and Taker is heel (Id prefer it this way). Money Inc vs LOD would be my choice for the tag titles too.

Heres what I would change on your card:
Id keep Shawn/Tito as the opener. Shawns first big singles match and I think it worked to his advantage getting the rub from a established veteran like Tito. Shawn/Owen was still a year away from being a technical classic.

Id keep the 8 man instead of Disaster/Nastys. It also gives more guys oppurtunity to get on the WM card.

Id keep Skinner/Owen as filler between Roberts/Savage and Hogan/Flair.

Flair retains after getting dq'd from shango/perfect run ins. Id also keep Warriors return to save Hogan from Flair/Perfect/Shango beating. That way we still get the Savage/Warrior/Flair feud in the summer of 1992. Savage takes the title off flair at SNME in june 92 and we everything plays out the same after that in the summer of 92. SNME from feb is now in june since its not needed for the sid/taker turns.
