Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring for his European Title shot. He is followed by Ryback. Seth goes for a lot of kicks and high knees but is swatted down time and time again by Ryback. Seth looks to chop Ryback down at the knees, and at one stage gets Ryback onto one leg. However, Ryback uses his power game to recover and take Rollins out with a clothesline. Ryback throws Rollins into the ropes and hits a vicious sidewalk slam. Ryback picks up Seth and hits a running power bomb, before lifting him up once more for Shell Shocked. Ryback hits his finisher and the referee makes the count.
Ryback bt Seth Rollins to retain teh European Title
Backstage we see Triple H arrive at the arena, to be greeted silently by Mark Henry. We see a recap of Mark Henry beating Triple H last week.
Sheamus is interviewed backstage about his match with Daniel Bryan tonight. Sheamus says he has already beaten Bryan in triple threat matches this year for the World Title so it has to be easier one on one. Sheamus runs through the list of people he has beaten since winning the World Title from Triple H at Resolution in January. The list is Wade Barrett, Triple H, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Bully Ray, and Dolph Ziggler.
Kofi Kingston comes to the ring, followed by Damian Sandow. Kofi goes on the offensive early, knocking Sandow down and going for quick covers which Sandow kicks out of. Sandow recovers to push Kofi against the ropes and knock down with European uppercuts, but Kofi bounces back to his feet and clotheslines Sandow down. Kofi hits the boom drop and goes for a quick cover. Sandow kicks out on two. Kofi looks for Trouble in Paradise but Sandow ducks out of the way and hits a swinging neck breaker to knock Kofi down. Backstage, we see Titus O'Neil, Chavo Guerrero, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre talking about taking about Big Show in the Battle Royal match. The camera pans back to see Leo Kruger looking on, smiling and looking a little deranged...
We cut to Trent Barreta and Richie Steamboat talking about how they are the future, and how CM Punk called out Barreta last week. Barreta talks about Colt Cabana being an insurance policy, and says tonight he will need to pay a premium.
Antonio Cesaro and Kassius Ohno come to the ring first for the four way Tag Titles match. Out next are Justin Gabriel and Christopher Daniels; followed by Tyson Kidd and then Kurt Angle. Kane then makes his way to the ring, followed by John Cena.
Kane and Cesaro start this one off. We are reminded that Kane or Cena don't have to be pinned to lose the match, and that they have been so dysfunctional lately, that it is likely we will see new Tag Champs tonight. Cesaro locls Kane up and hits some shots to the chest before making the tag to Ohno who brutalises Kane with hard shots, forcing him into the corner, where Angle makes the blind tag. Angle goes after Ohno, and catches him in the ropes. he pulls Ohno away from the ropes and hits a German Suplex. Angle holds on and makes it a second and a third, before Ohno can wriggle out of the hold and make a tag to Christopher Daniels. Daniels and Angle hook up, and Daniels pushes Angle against the ropes and clotheslines him down. Daniels looks for the BME, but Angle ducks out of the way and looks for the ankle lock. Cena comes in to break it up.
Angle and Cena square off, before Angle tags in Tyson Kidd. Kidd goes to work on Daniels, as Cena leaves the ring. Tyson sets up Daniels for a figure four leg lock, but Daniels gets to the ropes. Daniels shuffles over to tag in Justin Gabriel. Gabriel nails Tyson with a series of kicks, knocking him down to the mat. Gabriel looks to climb the ropes looking for the 450 splash, but Cesaro makes a blind tag, and knocks Gabriel to the floor. Cesaro comes in to pick up Tyson and looks for the Gotch Neutraliser, but Kane gets in the ring to break it up. Kane picks up both Cesaro and Tyson and hits a double chokeslam, before leaving the ring. Cesaro and Tyson are still the legal men. Tyson crawls over to make the cover. 1 2 Cesaro kicks out.
Kane starts to make his way up the ramp, but is chased by Cena, who confronts him and asks him what he thinks he is doing. Kane tries to keep walking, but Cena drags him back to the ring area and throws him into the steel steps. In the ring, Cesaro has tagged Ohno, who is monstering Tyson Kidd in the corner. Daniels makes a blind tag on Kidd, and this time hits the BME on Ohno and makes a cover. 1 2 Ohno kicks out.
Daniels picks up Ohno and throws him into the corner, but Cena makes the blind tag. Cena is in the ring like a house on fire. Cena knocks down Daniels with a shoulder block. He then does the same to Ohno, and also knocks down Angle who tries to interfere. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle on Daniels, before lifting him up for the Attitude Adjustment. As he swings Daniels around, Daniels makes a tag to Kane who gets in the ring and grabs Cena by the throat. Daniels escapes out of the ring as Kane delivers a monster chokeslam to Cena. Kane looks to leave the ring, but turns around to cover Cena! The referee looks confused, but Kane orders him to make the count. 1 2 3 Kane retains the Tag Team Titles by pinning his own partner!
Kane & John Cena bt Antonio Cesaro & Kassius Ohno, Justin Gabriel & Christopher Daniels, Kurt Angle & Tyson Kidd to retain the Tag Team Titles. After the match, all six opponents enter the ring to attack Kane. Kane tries his best to fight them off but is eventually overcome and knocked to the mat. Gabriel hits the 450 splash, Daniels hits the BME, Angle drags him up for the Olympic Slam and Tyson puts Kane in a sharp shooter. Cesaro and Ohno make their way up the ramp, watching on, as Cena recovers. Cena delivers an Attitude Adjustment on Kane, before picking up his Tag Title belt and leaving him in the middle of the ring.
Backstage, Derrick Bateman confronts Triple H and says as the American Hero, he needs to know who the other seven participants in tonight's match are going to be in the interest of national security. Jack Swagger walks in and says he is the only true All American American. Triple H tells them they are both nuts and leaves. As Bateman and Swagger argue, we pan back to see Brodus Clay watching on. Brodus doesn't look like he's in the mood for dancing. He comes up to Swagger and Bateman and tells them he is in the match, and They Do Know That!!
Jeff Hardy is in the ring first, followed by Chris Jericho for the Legends Title match. Hardy gets the upper hand early but tries to go the top rope to early, and Jericho moves out of the way of the Swanton Bomb. Jericho tries to get Hardy in the Walls of Jericho, but Hardy makes his way to the ropes and the hold is broken. Hardy makes a comeback, nailing Jericho with a series of elbows and kicks, forcing Jericho into the ropes. Hardy whips Jericho into the ropes and follows up with a kick to the gut. Hardy hits the Twist of Fate and makes a cover, but Jericho kicks out on one. Jericho gets to his feet and counteracts with kicks and elbows of his own, before knocking Hardy to the mat with a high knee. Jericho goes for the lionsault and hits it clean before making the cover. 1 2 Hardy kicks out. Jericho looks frustrated and picks up Hardy and throws him into the ropes and follows up with the Code Breaker. Jericho covers again, but Hardy kicks out on two again. Hardy takes advantage of Jericho's frustration and starts to get the upper hand, knocking Jericho down to the mat again. Hardy climbs the ropes and looks for the Swanton but Jericho gets back to his feet and catches Hardy and turns it into the Walls of Jericho in the middle of the ring. Hardy tries in vain to get to the ropes, but Jericho keeps dragging him in. Eventually Jeff Hardy is forced to tap out.
Chris Jericho bt Jeff Hardy to retain the Legends Title. After the match, Jericho gets a mic and tells the crowd that he is the best at what he does, and no one can beat him for the Legends Title. Jericho says everyone else is too old, too fat or too slow. As he drops the mic and starts to leave the ring, Sting's music hits, and the Icon makes his way to the top of the ramp. Jericho looks like he has seen a ghost as Sting returns to ASW for the first time since April, when he beat Mick Foley at OLD SCHOOL.
Backstage, Joey Ryan, Harry Smith and Heath Slater are talking strategy for the Battle Royal match. It seems they may have formed an alliance for tonight.
Sting is interviewed in the back and asked why he came back to ASW. Sting says he has never won a title here, but if there was ever a title made for him it is the Legends Title, and Chris Jericho's days are numbered.
Daniel Bryan comes to the ring to a chorus of YES chants from the crowd. Sheamus follows and the World Title match is next.
Bryan looks for the test of strength to start but is easily overpowered by Sheamus. Sheamus knocks Bryan to the mat, and steps back as Bryan looks more determined than ever. Bryan goes for the test of strength again, but this time kicks at Sheamus' knees, knocking the champion to the mat and going for a quick cover. Sheamus powers out at one, sending Bryan flying across the ring. Bryan unleashes a series of kicks to Sheamus, forcing him against the ropes, but Sheamus counters and hooks Bryan up before unwielding the ten forearm shots to the chest. Bryan collapses back into the ring and Sheamus covers. 1 2 Bryan kicks out. Sheamus drags Bryan up and hits the Irish Curse back breaker before following up with White Noise. Bryan again kicks out of the subsequent cover, leaving Sheamus frustrated. Sheamus pushes Bryan into the corner and steps back looking for the Brogue Kick. Sheamus looks for his finisher but Bryan grabs Sheamus' leg and takes him down and locks in his No Lock submission move. Sheamus makes his way to the ropes and forces Bryan to break the hold. Sheamus gets up looking pissed and again goes for a quick Brogue Kick. Bryan ducks underneath it and as Sheamus turns around, Bryan jumps up and catches him in a guillotine choke hold. Sheamus is stuck in the middle of the ring and can't make his way to the ropes, but refuses to tap out. Sheamus buckles down to one knee, as the referee raises his arm and it drops once. Bryan cinches in the hold tighter and Sheamus' arm drops for a second time. Sheamus drops to the mat as Bryan keeps the hold locked tight, and the referee hold Sheamus' arm up for a third time. It drops again and the referee calls for the bell.
Daniel Bryan bt Sheamus to win the World Title, despite Sheamus never actually tapping out. Bryan grabs the World Title and starts to embrace the YES chant from the crowd as he raises the title in triumph.
Daniel Bryan makes his way up the ramp and backstage, where he is asked if he has a preference now on who wins the Battle Royal. Bryan says it doesn't matter, as he will be the World Champion forever and ever and ever.
The bell rings and the rules of the Battle Royal match are explained. Two men will start, and another 28 will enter, one every two minutes. Participants are eliminated when they are thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the floor. The last man in the ring will become the #1 contender for the World Title at Supercard on December 28.
We start off with Chavo Guerrero making his way to the ring. He is followed by Harry Smith and we are reminded about the animosity between these two as former tag team champions try to make it on their own.
They lock up and Smith gets Chavo in a side head lock. Chavo pushes him into the ropes and follows, trying to quickly knock Harry over the top rope with a clothesline, but doesn't have enough momentum. Harry pushes Chavo to the mat, and hits him with a high knee drop. Harry picks up Chavo and throws him in the corner and tries to lift him up onto the ropes. Chavo counters with forearm shots, eventually pushing Smith out of the corner, and Chavo escapes.
They are joined now by Dean Ambrose Ambrose goes after both men, with a flurry of punches and elbows, before turning his full attention to Harry. Chavo tries to help Ambrose lift Harry up, but Ambrose knocks him out the way and Chavo falls back to the mat. Harry kicks Ambrose down, as Heath Slater makes his way to the ring.
Slater goes on the attack on Ambrose, and we are reminded they had some words last week. Slater throws Ambrose into the clutches of Chavo, who nails him with a belly to belly suplex. Samoa Joe is the next entrant, and he comes in to clean house. Joe knocks Chavo and Slater to the mat and then hits a running clothesline on Harry Smith, who falls over the top rope and to the floor. Harry Smith is the first man eliminated. Joe turns his attention to Chavo, as Slater and Ambrose lock up in the corner.
The next man in is Richie Steamboat who works with Slater to try to lift Ambrose up onto the ropes. Ambrose powers out of it, leaving both men on the mat, and then assists Joe with attacking Chavo. Joe and Ambrose combine to toss Chavo out of the ring. Chavo Guerrero is eliminated.
As Chavo makes his way to the back, Trent Barreta comes racing to the ring and assists his tag partner Steamboat with attacking Slater, while Joe and Ambrose are now locked up. Baretta and Steamboat double team Slater with missile drop kicks, knocking him over the top rope and onto the floor. Heath Slater is eliminated. Barreta and Steamboat square off against Ambrose and Joe, before Ambrose turns on Joe and all three gang up on the Samoan submission machine. The music of Alberto Del Rio hits and he comes in to join the assault on Joe. The four on one is eventually too much for Samoa Joe, and he is thrown over the top rope by all four men. Samoa Joe is eliminated.
Alberto turns his attention to Barreta and Steamboat, knocking them both to the floor with powerful knife edge shots to the chest while Ambrose looks on. The ninth man to enter the match is AJ Styles making his long awaited return to ASW. AJ hits a missile drop kick on Alberto who gets tangles up in the ropes. AJ hits the Pele kick on Ambrose knocking him to the mat, before going back to work on Alberto, with help from Barreta and Steamboat. The next man in is Jack Swagger who fights off Alberto's attackers and frees him from the ropes. Alberto and Swagger combine to knock AJ down, and then knock Barreta and Steamboat out with vicious clotheslines over the top rope. Trent Barreta is eliminated. Richie Steamboat is eliminated
Next in the ring is Leo Kruger, who walks over the top rope and simply sits in the corner, watching the action around him. Swagger and Del Rio double team AJ, and lift him up onto the turnbuckle, but AJ fights out, kicking Del Rio to the mat before hitting a bulldog off the top rope onto Swagger. AJ confronts Kruger in the corner, while the other two are on the mat, but is blindsided by Dean Ambrose who lifts AJ up and over the top rope to the floor. AJ Styles is eliminated
Ambrose goes to work on Jack Swagger, as we now see the long awaited return of Cody Rhodes. Cody looks at Kruger in the corner, and decides Alberto would be a more suitable target. Cody and Del Rio lock up, as Swagger starts to overpower Ambrose on the other side of the ring. Kruger continues to watch the action without getting involved.
The next man in is Bully Ray who goes straight over to Kruger and lifts him to his feet. Bully slaps Kruger a couple of times, before the giant South African lifts Bully up over his head. Bully is saved when Swagger and Ambrose run into Kruger accidentally, causing him to drop to his knees and release Bully Ray. Titus O'Neil is in next and tries to capitalise on the wounded Bully Ray, as we recall Titus saying he was out for revenge on Bully for the attacks on D-Von and Percy Watson a few weeks back.
Drew McIntyre is next in and the ring is starting to fill up. We currently have Ambrose, Del Rio, Cody Rhodes, Jack Swagger, Kruger, Bully Ray, Titus and McIntyre. Drew teams up with Swagger to try to eliminate Del Rio, but Alberto survives and slithers over to the other side of the ring. Swagger and McIntyre turn their attention to helping Titus O'Neil eliminate Bully Ray, and they have him up on the ropes when Brodus Clay comes in. Brodus assists them eliminate Bully Ray. Bully Ray is eliminated.
Brodus then double crosses Swagger and McIntyre, stiff arm clotheslines take them both out. Drew McIntyre is eliminated. Jack Swagger is eliminated. Joey Ryan is next in but has the misfortunate to run straight into Brodus Clay who lifts him up and eliminates him before he can get in any offence. Joey Ryan is eliminated.
The next man in is Big Show who wastes no time, picking up a tiring Ambrose and tossing him over the top rope. Dean Ambrose is eliminated after being in the ring for 31 minutes. Show keeps the carnage going, attacking Cody Rhodes from behind, and ending his match. Cody Rhodes is eliminated. We are down to Big Show, Brodus Clay, Leo Kruger, Alberto Del Rio and Titus O'Neil. Entry #19 is James Storm who comes to the ring looking apprehensive, and scopes his options before nailing Leo Kruger with the last call superkick, straight over the top rope. Leo Kruger is eliminated. Storm goes to do the same to Big Show, but his leg is caught and he is thrown to the mat as the music of Triple H plays and the five time former World Champion gets in the match.
Triple H teams with Brodus, Storm and Titus in trying to get Big Show up onto the ropes as Alberto watches on. Alberto sneakily attacks Titus from behind, scooping him up and over. Titus O'Neil is eliminated. As Titus leaves, he is passed on the ramp by the veteran William Regal. Regal joins in on the attack on Big Show, but Show sprawls everyone down to the mat. Show and Del Rio take Storm apart, but everyone stops as the music for the next entrant hits. It's Mick Foley! Foley comes into the ring and goes after Del Rio, saving Storm from the double team assault. It's mayhem again as the ring fills up with the entrance of Austin Aries. Aries, Storm and Foley combine to eliminate Alberto Del Rio, whose 32 minutes is now the longest in the match. Alberto Del Rio is eliminated.
Kane's music hits and everyone stops in the middle of the ring. Kane however is not a participant in the match, and comes through the crowd to surprise Triple H from behind on the ring apron. Kane chokeslams Triple H over the top rope and onto the floor. Triple H is eliminated and the next man in is actually the return of The Miz.
Triple H and Kane battle back through the crowd as The Miz goes after Mick Foley. Next out is CM Punk who also goes after Foley. Regal gets involved, and Foley is thrown out of the ring and onto the floor. Mick Foley is eliminated.
Punk turns on Regal and sets him up for the GTS. Instead of hitting the move, he puts Regal in an airplane spin and tosses him out to the floor. William Regal is eliminated just as Colt Cabana comes in, and we are reminded Cabana is CM Punk's insurance policy. Punk and Colt combine to eliminate James Storm, before turning their attention to Brodus Clay and Big Show who have been locked in a power struggle for the last few minutes. James Storm is eliminated.
Aries has Miz up on the top rope and launches an amazing missile drop kick to knock Miz onto the floor. The Miz is eliminated. The next competitor in in Mark Henry. Henry assists Punk and Cabana lift Brodus up to the top rope. Big Show launches himself at the scrum on the top rope, knocking Brodus, Punk and Colt to the floor. Brodus Clay, CM Punk and Colt Cabana are all eliminated. Punk looks pissed as he gets up on the ring apron, trying to taunt Big Show, but is swatted down by a WMD from Show. The 28th entrant is Derrick Bateman. Bateman shapes up to Mark Henry but is quickly knocked down to the mat. Henry turns his attention to Aries, and pushes him into the ropes. Henry charges at Aries, who pulls down on the top rope, causing Henry to topple over and onto the floor.Mark Henry is eliminated. Henry gets up and onto the ring apron, reaching over to grab Aries and lift him up. Bateman helps complete the demise of Aries. Austin Aries is eliminated .
Wade Barrett comes to the ring and sizes up Show and Bateman. He gestures to Bateman that they should team up to take out Big Show, but then double crosses Bateman and goes on the attack with high knees and European uppercuts, forcing Bateman against the ropes. Show goes to charge at both of them, but Barrett ducks just in time, and Show knocks Bateman out of the ring. Derrick Bateman is eliminated.
Barrett and Show size each other up, as the music of the 30th and final entrant plays, and Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring. Ziggler takes an age to enter the ring, as he teases getting in before removing himself to the apron on several occasions. Barrett eventually lifts Ziggler in over the top rope and throws him to Show who knocks Ziggler out with the WMD. Show lifts Ziggler's lifeless body from the canvas and chokeslams him over the top rope. Dolph Ziggler is eliminated.
Show turns his attention to Barrett, who ducks another WMD attempt, before pushing Show against the ropes. Barrett tries to lift Show's leg up onto the ropes, but is stopped by Show who laughs at Barrett, and kicks him to the mat. Show lifts Barrett up over his head, but Barrett fights out of it with a series of elbows. Both men trade blows in the middle of the ring. Barrett ducks a clothesline, and kicks Show against the ropes. Barrett charges at Show and hits a savage clothesline, knocking Show over the top rope, but Show hangs on to the top rope to stop himself dropping to the floor. Barrett launches himself back into the ropes and kicks Show's hand off the ropes, and he tumbles to the floor. Big Show is eliminated.
Big Show lasted 35 minutes in the match, longer than any other competitor, but the winner of the Battle Royal match is Wade Barrett.
Wade Barrett wins the Battle Royal match
Wade Barrett is going to Supercard for a shot at the ASW World Title. Barrett raises his arms in triumph as the show ends.
