My goodness do I have to watch this shitfest? JYD is everything that's wrong with the WWE HOF. This guy was just flat out terrible and never won a damn thing of note in his life. For some reason he was popular, but I'll never get why. Then we have Marty Jannetty. This guy was so strung out he couldn't even stand up straight half the time. Shawn (who in fairness partied just as much) carried the team and was the superstar in the end. Marty never really did anything of note. he had a bullshit IC title reign and a forgotten tag title reign, so we'll go with him over the monstrocity that is JYD.

wow, how many failures can you have in one match? JYD was awful, Marty Jannetty was the loser of the Rockers, no-one's really going to actually care about the match. Damn the draws, at least one decent guy could have gone over the two over these guys.

JYD was just pretty damn awful and his big claim to fame really is that he was a close friend of Hulk Hogan's back in the mid 80s. He was featured on the old Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling cartoon series. JYD was a big wig back in Bill Watts' Mid-South Wrestling Association but never did a thing of real note while he was in the WWF.

Marty Jannetty is one of the biggest wastes of talent I've seen. Jannetty had a bright future in the industry and could have potentially been what Shawn Michaels is now but he went and pissed it all away. He and Michaels did have a few good matches together and they were a great tag team. As pityful as Jannetty's career became, he still had more to show for it than being Hulk Hogan's token flunky. I give it to Jannetty.

Apparently people either don't know about JYD or they think he's just that guy who was over with the fans because he used to toy with his opponents by biting them and acting like a dog. What these people fail to realize is that he had an amazing career, and with the exception of Hulk Hogan he was probably the most over face in the WWE from 1985-1988. This guy is a hall of famer for a reason. He holds victories over legends such as Greg Valentine, Ted Dibiase, Ric Flair, and Jake Roberts. He also defeated the Iron Sheik and Randy Savage in the same night to win the Wrestling Classic tournament in the WWE. This guy is a legend that would embarrass Marty Jannety.

So you're supporting someone who hardly won, who was Hogans friend and didn't win a singles title over someone who is a former IC champion? :lmao:

This is easy. Junkyard Dog is on the Legends of Wrestlemania game. Mart Jannetty isn't.

Junkyard Dog wins. Oh, and mumbo jumbo about being more relevant, more popular, more exciting, and so on.

If you're trying to draw comparisons between this and the Shelton vs Beefcake match then don't even try. Benjamin > Jannetty, JYD > Beefcake.

I know your taking the piss, but Savage and Steamboat aren't on there and Koko B. Ware is.

I think Jannetty fucked up. I truly think that had he managed to avoid getting sacked repeatedly and killing the momentum, his feud with Michaels could have catapulted them both upwards. I think his match at the 1993 Royal Rumble was great, but had it been at WrestleMania the year before, he'd have gone onwards and upwards. But what ifs don't matter, and Jannetty never really went anywhere, save for his brief IC reign.

Junk Yard Dog may not have won a lot in WWE, but he was huge in smaller promotions before he joined WWE, and he won The Wrestling Classic tournament, which included beating The Iron Sheik and Randy Savage on one night.

While I much prefer Marty Jannetty, I think Junk Yard Dog would win this one.

I'm going with Jannetty. Sure he was the weak link of The Rockers, but it's not like HBK was leading them to greatness either. He's able to move around the ring well, and will be aided by the smaller WCW ring, and cables. JYD was good for nothing but those damn crawling headbutts, and all Jannetty has to do is dropkick him.

Those headbutts got him victories over Ric Flair, Ted Dibiase, Jake Roberts, Randy Savage, Greg Valentine, and the Iron Sheik. Take away one win over HBK and what does Jannety have? A forgetful tag title reign with 1-2-3 Kid and then a career as a jobber.

It didn't seem to help him too much when he was in WCW. I don't think he ever won a match. JYD beat Ric Flair in a WCW ring. JYD wins this easily.

I agree with Big Sexy here. JYD has a bad rep. I mean he wasn't great or good, but he, in my opinion wasn't god awful. Jannetty messed up big time and he could have been something special. But I think JYD gets the win here and Jannetty will hit up a club after the match.

Easily JYD in this match. The man influential and over as all hell. Sure, it didn't translate to the main event level, but the guy had moderate mid card success in Stampede, the NWA, and the WWF, and later in WCW. he's not overly great as some have said, but he wasn't terrible as others suggest.

Marty Jannetty though, is a guy that has made a career out of being the "other Rocker". Outside of a pity title reign that was used only to enhance Michaels career, the guy has accomplished nothing. When your biggest achievement in your career is being the guy that got thrown threw the Barber Shop window, and launched the other guys career, that doesn't say much about your career.
