Goldberg easily. Castagnoli won't have a chance. Goldberg will go right through him inside a couple of minutes.

Goldberg was a beast. There is nothing else to say than that. Goldberg beat Triple H, The Big Show, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, and countless others. He simply did not lose. Goldberg may be an ass in real life, but like The Ultimate Warrior, he should go DEEP into this tournament.

End Chant.

I think you get my point here. Claudio is a big guy that is great for his size, but in WCW, are you kidding me? Goldberg lost I think 5-6 times ever there. Why would he lose to a virtual unknown?

This is a match that if it last two minutes i would be shocked. This will be a classic Goldberg WCW squash match. Spear. Jackhammer. Over.

On the one hand you've got the most unbeatable man in a WCW ring fighting in a WCW ring. On the other hand you've got a ROH midcarder. This will be over in less than a minute. Castagnoli is basically the equivalent of a local jobber in a WCW ring, and Goldberg ate that sort of person for breakfast. Easily Goldberg.

This match will be shorter than Goldberg's entrance. Goldberg wouldn't break a sweat in this match so Claudio will be toast and he probably won't have a stun gun handy.

Goldberg squash right here. Goldberg was a beast in WCW and Castagnoli does not stand a chance in hell of beating Goldberg in his home environment. A spear and a Jack Hammer from Goldberg and it's all over. Better luck next time Mr. Castagnoli.

This was WCW's main man. With the undefeated streak, how over he was, and the people he beat it is so lopsided. Castagnoli does not stand a chance in hell against this beast.

Goldberg easily.

If this match lasts longer than 30 seconds, it's only because Goldberg was eating a sandwich with his free hand while holding Claudio up for a JackHammer. He could use the Spear first, but then what would he be JackHammering? A pile of gelatin-like carcass doesn't slam as well as a human body.

Goldberg should go deep in to this. Like KB said, he rarely lost in WCW. I know he only had 2 losses in his first 3 years there, and didn't lose much after that. Claudio is just the first in a line of "Who's next?"

The Music Hits.

And it is over.

Claudio would have shit himself before Goldberg entered the ring. He would be the kind of guy they would put into the ring for Golberg to boost his record, and that is all he is doing in this tournament.

Squash Match. Goldberg was a freaking beast, and he could destroy anyone. If he wrestled today he would still be huge, a solid lifetime main-eventer. He'll be tough to stop in this tournament and round 1 definitely goes to the monster Goldberg.

It will be a closer match then what people are saying, Claudio is a proficient technical wrestler, similar to what Regal did. Goldberg will win but not as easily as some people are making it out to be, I see a Regal situation occurring.

It's just a shame that ROH on HDNet just started, because someone like Castagnoli will benefit next year from more exposure. However, it doesn't matter how you slice it, it's perfect match for Goldberg. Goldberg was amazing in WCW, and he was fed guys like Castagnoli for the beginning of his career, which he dispatched with relative ease. It might start out even, but in the end, it will be a squash for Goldberg.

squash match

Goldberg in a WCW ring is practically indestructible, because that's the way he was booked for so long. How can anyone even justify someone that found the majority of their success in the minor leagues even standing a chance against Goldberg in this situation? For almost 200 straight matches Goldberg went undefeated, and most of those wins were against guys like Castagnoli - jobbers. Despite his success on the Indy Circuit, Castagnoli probably would have been mid card at best in WCW, and would have been fed straight to Goldberg if the opportunity ever arose.

I didn't realize Goldberg had been placed in the WCW region, hell, unless he runs into Bret Hart, Sting, or Hogan within the next couple of rounds, I don't expect him to go out anytime soon.

Winner, Goldberg

Get out the squash-o-meter. Goldberg takes this one easy and marches his way to round 2 without breaking a sweat in the ring.

A couple right hands, a kick or two, spear, jackhammer, pin. Ladies and gentlemen, that is the match. Goldberg was one of the most indestructible wrestlers ever, and there is no way he will lose to a guy that over half of the voters have never heard of. I can see Goldberg having a nice run in this tourney.

Goldberg should and will win this, but the shear massive amounts of disrespect I see Claudio getting in this match is all the reason I need to give the guy my vote, people should really do a little research, especially if they've never heard of the guy, as Shadow said this match would last a lot longer than what people are suggesting, it would by no means be a squash

There really doesn't need to be anything said by me at this point. This match goes to Goldberg. He had a better character, better skills, better intensity, better entertainment factor, and was a World Champion.

CC couldn't even make it in WWE development.

So we're in a WCW region. WCW pushed Goldberg to damn near legendary status. Ya know what? I'm not sure why. I'm guessing it's because of his size, but I got nothing else. Goldberg was a flash in the pan and did nothing to impress me. His matches consisted of alot of grunting and yelling with little else to offer besides forced intensity.

Goldberg will win this with no problem, but he's not getting my vote. Claudio will never be a great wrestler, but I've seen him wrestle countless solid matches. That's more than I can say for Goldberg.

Lmfao. There is no way that this is a close match. Goldberg would win in about 11 seconds. He's a beast in the ring, and would out-power Castagnoli in a heatbeat. This isn't close. Castagnoli isn't that good to be honest, and having done some reearch on him Goldberg beats him in most departments.

Given that this is WCW, Catagnoli doesn't have a chance here. Maybe if we were in WWE, Castagnoli might stand a chance...wait a minute, what am I saying? WWE rarely pushes anyone that they haven't made! Goldberg here, there's not even a question about it, save for how long the match would last. I would venture to guess 25 seconds?

Both bad and good news for Claudio. The bad nes is that Goldberg destroys him here. The good? I dont think he dies,. just spends a few months in the hospital.
