Utilizing "Part Timers"

Occasional Pre-Show
I'll try to keep this brief - seems like all my posts/threads are essays.

WWE currently has several superstars of the past appearing on a part time basis. They're usually used for dream matches, boosting PPV buys, or picking up the slack when the ratings are slipping.

If you could control how each of these stars are booked, how would you do it?

For the sake of organisation, please list who you'd put them against (and why), when you'd do it, and a brief overview of the feud.

The past superstars I can think of are:
Brock Lesnar
The Rock
Stone Cold Steve Austin (under contract and feels he's got two years in the tank - I suppose that qualifies)
Triple H
Booker T
Undertaker

Feel free to add any more!

Eg:

The Rock: I'd put him against John Cena again. I thought they had good chemistry on the mic and in the ring, and there's so many more places they could go with it ie getting titles involved, heel turns etc.

In my story, I'd have Cena lose his next few high profile matches and blame The Rock. Say he's not demeaning The Rock's victory at WrestleMania, just that Rock's disappearance straight after meant Cena couldn't get any closure and it's been throwing him off his game ever since. Cena calls out Rock for a while, maybe wins the WWE Title to lure Rock out - Rock finally shows up to win the Rumble and answer Cena's challenge. Cena wants Rock again, Rock wants Cena's title - it writes itself. The only risk is, if Cena wins then Rock hasn't kept his promise to be champion, but if Rock wins, Cena's lost to him at two straight Mania's - and you've got to get the belt off Rock in time for his next movie.

But the angle would be good at least!

Now your stories!

Well as for Booker T, I think WWE missed a big opportunity to reuinite him with Goldust when he was feuding with Cody Rhodes. But I digress.

I think WWE also mishandled Brock Lesnar when they brought him in by thrusting him into a match right away at Extreme Rules. I think they should've gone with Cena vs. Punk in a re-match in Chicago for the WWE Title at Extreme Rules, with Brock Lesnar in a Special Enforcer role. Lesnar could end up fucking over Cena in the match, unbeknownst the Punk (OR WAS IT???), allowing Punk to get the win and retain the title. This would lead to Cena vs. Lesnar at Over The Limit, as Cena would obviously want payback, and would create a storyline where we think Punk and Lesnar might be in league together, with Paul Heyman pulling the strings behind the scenes. At some point, this is indeed revealed to be the case, when Punk interferes and helps Lesnar beat Cena at Over the Limit, and Punk/Lesnar essentially become a Two Man Power Trip managed by Paul Heyman. Punk holds the WWE Title, and Lesnar ends up winning the World Heavyweight Title from Sheamus at No Way Out, probably in a Cage Match to play off of Lesnar's "cage fighting" background (kinda stupid, but whatever).

At SummerSlam we get (probably) the biggest Tag-Team Match in history: CM Punk & Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman vs. John Cena & Triple H with both World Titles on the line and the stipulation that if Punk/Lesnar win, Heyman becomes General Manager or gets Triple H's power or something. Which Punk/Lesnar would win.

Long story short, Punk and Lesnar eventually implode and end up facing each other at some point like Survivor Series, or WrestleMania if you can stretch it that long, in a Title vs. Title match and Punk ends up winning to unify the World Titles into the Undisputed Championship.

I have no idea if this would be possible due to the nature of Lesnar's contract, but I just booked him as though he could appear whenever I wanted him to. At least this would have been a long term plan, and probably would have generated more interest than what they ended up doing.

At WrestleMania, I'd probably also do Undertaker vs. John Cena, as the Biggest Star in the company and as a guy with a reputation for winning most main event matches, John Cena would pose a great threat to the Streak, and if you're going to turn Cena full heel, what better way to do it than by having him beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania...the crowd would actually shit their pants

Part timers and legends should be used to get new talent over. It's nice to see familiar faces and WWE loves bringing back the veterans to get some quick pops from the crowd, but in my opinion, it serves no purpose to have them beat regular roster talent. You have a guy like Road Dogg as an agent who was popped big at the Rumble. Why, while people still have him fresh in their minds, do you not have him out the next night on Raw. Cut a promo about how he appreciated the crowd remembering him and all that BS only to have new, young talent come out to talk about these old guys stealing spotlight. Jump him, engage in a small feud with him. Doesn't have to culminate on a ppv, but a few weeks on Raw and you can get a new, young guy over. Edge and Orton's careers skyrocketed to the next level by feuding with legends. Coincidentally, NAO went to the next level after feuding with Foley and Funk. Nostalgia acts are great and necessary if they are used for the proper purpose.

I actually rather like the assembly of part timers and how they get used.. sometimes. Yes they should be used to help elevate current people pushing for toptier status - but what they're doing now brings a chance of surprise that we got during the monday night wars, and that built ECW when they turned national (which is always a bad example) - when bigger shows draw near the "fallen fans" (the ones who have given up) begin tuning in again to see who will come in from the parttimers so we can have our nostalgia fix.

Example - I was never really a big vader guy but I popped when he appeared on raw - it was a pleasant surprise. If they bring him in for a match in say.. 3 months and have him lose out to say Drew MacIntyre or Mason Ryan - then he helps elevate them while staying fresh and raising ratings indirectly because we tuned in hoping to see somebody different come to the show.

So John Cena loses several high profile matches, calls out rock and blames him for his loss of form. But somehow Wins the WWE title to lure Rock into the challenge.
Please, where is my shotgun of Logic? Cena loses all the high profile matches but can beat the Champion for the title? Are you serious bro?

I hope my idea's are better...but TBH im only doing this to make sure I dont get another warning for spam. I have plenty of those....Mods suck.

Brock Lesnar -
After a series of Wins against the likes of Tripple H, Ryback, The Big Show, Mark Henry, Kane and the Funkasaurus Rex....sometimes having two matches in one show and still dominating. Brock Lesnar is Challenged by the Undertaker who has seen his dominance and believes that this is the time he can finally be beaten and retire. " Im getting old, and if you feel up to the task you can come try and finish me off ".
After an extremely dominant match at Wrestlemania where Taker is bloodied and destroyed Taker manages to defy the odds for 21 - 0 and Brock is gonne until Vince slips out the Cheque book once more.

The Rock -
O.K. Wishful thinking here but this is Fiction after all.
Picture the Scene, a new face is out there and along with Punk and co the Merch sales are flying and the Bea*/Make a wish. are more than being taken care of.
Que John Cena Heel turn!!! Cena goes after the title Vs any Heel take your pick. John Repeatedly loses via Heel cheating tactics, interference or by mistakes made by a friend who was just trying to help....let’s say Kingston.
Kingston and Cena Tag vs the Champion and another Heel of your choice, Kingston is pinned during the match and as a result Cena is no longer the #1 contender.
Cena beats down Kingston after he tried to apologize, relentlessly kicking him in the corner and throwing him at ring steps and barricades.
Next weeks Raw, Kofi tells josh Mathews backstage that he doesn’t know what was up with John but he will let it go just this once as he is a friend and John's mind was not in the right place that night.
Kofi has a match in the main event against one of the opponents from the tag match, Kofi wins but is then attacked from behind by John Cena, more of the same. John takes the Mic and talks about how he is sick of people getting in the way, people treating him like he is some sort of cash cow, pussy footing around him and pretending they like him when really they just suck up to try and befriend their way to the top where he is. These phony’s aren’t in the same league as him, why do they feel the need to get in his way when he is top dog and would be champ if he was allowed to just get on with things alone.
Suddenly "john, john" The Rock via sattelite, cuts a promo on the fruity pebble son of a bitch, #Tag on twitter and a series of catchphrases. "I had respect for you John, I didn’t like you but you were true to yourself, but now I realise I was right all along and the respect I gained from you that day at wrestlemania 28 was just me basking in the moment."
Wrestlemania Rock v Cena 2, this time Cena is officially a HEEL.

SCSA -
Sheamus has lost the title he has lost his feud with a HEEL of your choice, Brogue kicking anyone and everyone at the end of matches he wasn’t even involved in and well and truly back in HEEL territory. After a previous Brogue kick which Cost Santino Marella his opportunity at being the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight championship in another match that Sheamus was not even involved in Santino stands in the middle of the ring and calls out Sheamus, an emotional Santino both angry and upset asks "why?, this was my one chance and you ruined it, Why?".
Sheamus comes out, cuts a promo mocking Santino and then Brogue kicks him out of the ring, Santino staggers up and goes at Sheamus only to be nocked down again, and again, and again. Santino barely able to stand is constantly coming at Sheamus crying with anger, showing heart and determination but to no avail.
Laughing, Sheamus picks up Santino, still trying to fight back and stands him in the corner, readies himself for another Brogue kick then....................................... " *CRASH* " Stone colds music hits, the Crowd goes MENTAL Austin slides into the ring, gives Sheamus the two fingers, a kick in the nuts and a Stone Cold STUNNER.
Austin Celebrates by giving Santino a pat on the back and they both celebrate with a BEER or five. (yes Cm Punk was too obvious a choice.)

Well anyway, I hope you liked em, and I think they would really work quite well. Although some of them are SOOOOOO speculative.

WM29, id book cena vs undertaker, what way better way to retire than beating the face of the company W-undertaker. Brock Lesnar vs Rock, make punk lose his title due to injury from Brock himself, after losing to punk, and Brock wins the vacant title at idk elimination chamber? W-Rock, would set up a nice punk vs rock after a big return. HHH vs Sheamus, maybe HHH can make that heel turn ive been waiting for since he took over, but if sheamus is still champ by then this would be perfect as HHH cud be one of the few threats to sheamus, and hopefully hhh puts his buddy over instead of filling his own ego W-Sheamus. Booker T vs Dolph Ziggler or Damien Sandow, even tho dolph is in the title picture right now i cant see him winning,i think damien sandow will become great through this year but i dont see either one in title pictures for WM, Booker T is simply good at making younger talent look good (eg. cody) so a win for either of these superstars at WM would help their careers and give us an entertaining midcard feud.

i forgot stone cold. every1 says austin vs punk any1 thought about austin vs ..... daniel bryan? i think it would be fun to watch them wrestle and the what vs yes chants? bryan kick YES austin stomps WHAT

Yeah... my bad :P No need to get THAT angry about it...but yeah, stupidity on my part there. Sorry.

Seems to be some confusion as to what this thread is about. It's asking for example feuds you would write for a pool of part-time talent..there's already enough threads about whether or not part timers are good for the business. If you don't have any feuds you'd like to see these part-timers in, don't post in this thread.
