Welcome to the fourth installment of my "Turning the Page" series, where you get to book how you would turn a particular Superstar either heel or face. Surprisingly, I got quite a few requests for the All American American American American American, Jack Swagger.
Jack Swagger debuted in the WWE as a heel in October of 2008, where he was given a lengthy winning streak. That streak extended into 2009, where Swagger defeated current ECW Champion Matt Hardy to win the ECW title, his first taste of gold within WWE. Swagger retained the title at the Royal Rumble in Hardy's return match.
Swagger remained undefeated into February, where he was handed his first singles's loss at the hands of Finlay due to a distraction from the returning Christian. Swagger would retain the ECW championship in Christian's first attempt, but Christian would ultimately win the title from Swagger at Backlash 2009.
Swagger would chase the title for some time, losing both his return match at Judgment Day, as well as at Extreme Rules in a triple threat Extreme Rules match. His final attempt to win the ECW Championship was also unsuccessful in a five man Scramble Match at The Bash. Swagger would soon after be traded to Raw in June 2009, where his first match saw him be the second opponent in a Gauntlet Match against then WWE Champion Randy Orton. Rather then face Orton, Swagger attempted to ingratiate himself to Orton, taking a countout loss. Swagger did little of note following that on Raw, save a feud with MVP and the pursuit of the US Championship against Kofi Kingston, of which he came up short on many occasions. Swagger's luck began to change, however, when he qualified for the Money in The Bank match at Wrestlemania with a win against Santino Marella. This culminated in Swagger winning the MITB match at Wrestlemania, and quickly cashing it in five days later when he took advantage of an injured Chris Jericho at the hands of Edge.
Jack Swagger then went on to have one of the worst World Title Reigns in recent history. After successfully retaining the title against both Jericho and Edge in a triple threat match on the following Smackdown, Swagger retained the title in an Extreme Rules match at ER 2010 against Randy Orton. It was when Swagger transitioned from 'feuding" with Orton that his flaws were exposed. He began to feud with the Big Show, where he showed himself to be quite broing while generating go-away heat. After retaining the title at Over the Limit in an awful match against Big Show via DQ, Swagger dropped the title to Rey Mysterio at Fatal Four Way. He would then lose his return match to Mysterio as well at the Money in the Bank PPV.
Swagger has done little since then, often going missing altogether from WWE TV, orn wrestling on SUperstars. He took on a more serious persona for as time, but then adopted a mascot in the Swagger Soaring Eagle. Clearly, creative has been lost for some time as for what to do with this great in-ring talent. A re-packaging could certainly benefit the All AMerican American. Here's your chance.
The purpose of this thread isn't to show why you would turn him face, but explain how you would do it. I also want to know why you believe this would be successful. If you disagree with someone, feel free to rip their post to pieces. Just be sure to add what YOU would do instead. Here's what I need to know.
1. How would you successfully turn Jack Swagger face?
2. Why would this scenario work for him?
3. Should Jack Swagger turn face in 2011? Why?
Have at it.
