Alright so now we have like what?, 3 tournaments going at the same time(that I know of)? really?....I mean fucking really?!?, we couldn't space this shit out more, or at least wait until until one tournament ended before starting a new one?, I mean fuck two of these tournaments are in the same damn section for fuck sake, you'd think that Shockey's tag tourney would take priority over all others right now, seeing as how it's the only tourney going on on the forums right now that is wrestling related on a fucking wrestling board

Before every tournament even starts, the mod and admin staff discusses this very matter. A lot of people are following in Shocky's lead, because it creates a lot more quality discussion than simply having a thread that asks "What's the Best Film of All Time?" Yes, the boards have tournament fever, but we've also decided NOT to do some in order to focus on the ones we have.

My advice is, if you don't like the tournament or think they are too much, don't participate in them. Plenty of other people will, especially with so many complaining that wrestling at the current moment is "boring."

Never have I agreed with Luther more. Justin, seriously. If you don't like them, it is so unbelievably easy to ignore them. All the people involves with tournaments have put SO much effort into them, who are you to just bitch unecessarily about them?

Unfortunately, the genuine question is buried under superfluous swear words and needless anger.

The idea that so many tournaments are going on concurrently is a valid point. We actually created a schedule in the board room for tournaments and major thread ideas. The Tag Tournament happens every year this time of year, and it's wrestling related. Shango and KB spent a month getting the movie tourney together, and it creates interest for those who want a break from wrestling.

The slasher thing is a mini-tournament for the Halloween season. I discussed with Shango, KB, and the rest of the mods if it'd detract from the main movie tournament, and I don't think it will. I'd rather see people go to the main movie tournament then the slasher, TBH, but this may be just the shot in the arm the Movies section needs.

All I know is, I brought up the idea of a Movie Tournament over the summer. Jake said no, because Ech was going to do one after the music tournament was over. A few weeks later, I believe it was like in thae beginning of August, Jake sent me a PM saying that I could run the WZ Movie TOurnament if I still wanted to. Pretty much his only condition was that I wait until after the Music Tourney. Jake told me to wait til October, so I waited til October. I recruited KB, and we've been steadily working this out for about six weeks. (Although I started researching and preparing for this way back in June.) I had no idea when Shocky was planning on starting his tournament, so I just went ahead and shot for October. My apologies to Shocky if he feels I moved in on his "Tourney turf".

But personally, I don't feel that the movie and tag tourney's get in each others' way, seeing as they are in two completely different parts of the forum. I've visited his tourney. Not so much lately, as I've been going full throttle on my own the last couple weeks. And I'm sure Shocky will take a peak into my tournament here and there as well (unless he doesn't like movies, but who doesn't like movies?!)

The LEgends Tournament is overkill. Mostly because it was so rushed I managed to convince Cory to put me in there. I'm going up against Hulk Hogan in the first round.

I asked for help by starting 2 threads and got ignored so i did the best I could with what people gave me. I asked for everyone's help so people would fell like they were involved and maybe participate in it. Had i gotten enough names from everyone Papa Shango would not be in this tournament. At least I'm waiting till everyone else's is done before I start mine.

You didn't get ignored. The legends tournament is a good idea, the timing was just bad. You were going up against a tournament that was huge last year and something huge that's never been done before.

Also, why bring this up once the movie tournament starts? Why didn't you mention this, like, last week, before Shango rushed to put this thing together?

This coming along now couldn't have been at a more perfect time if you ask me because of the servers crashing recently. If you haven't noticed, the boards still hasn't become as active as it was before that and I think having a couple of tournaments will bring some much needed discussion , especially in a place like the Movies section, which is one of the least active boards here.

I would like to point something out.

I see people say "Just ignore the Tourny threads". Well, when I come to the forum, I always click the "New Posts". And when 3/4 of the new posts are tournament threads, you can't ignore them. And so, you get tired of skipping over movie tournament threads that you're not interested in to find threads that you get interested in. Eventually, you just get tired of trying all together.

And, we have to skip over three tournament threads. So, it's not near as easy to ignore them as people seem to want to think.


Furthermore, having 235237987 different tournaments tend to devalue the tournaments we do have. I think WZ should decide which tournaments they like the most, and maybe do like 4 of them a year.

One thing I'd also like to point out. Yes, we have three tournaments going right now, but the tag tourney is on a hiatus and the slasher tourney has only a handful of matchups anyway. It's almost like there's 1.5 going right now which is hardly the headache its being made out to be.

Yeah, but there is ALWAYS at least one, usually tournaments going on. And when I say "always" I really mean "most of the time".

What happened to the days when people could just discuss wrestling without so many tournaments?
