TNA iMPACT Video Game

ye, i'm a little fed up that the game isn't available on ps2. TNA should respect that not everyone can afford £425 for the ps3.

You have to remember that this game is slated to come out in 2008 in which all likely hood there wont be too many games coming out for the PS2 or the XBox.

Also those pics Jake put up are screen caps of the trailer that Midway/TNA put out. But the thing is the trailer's graphics were not what the games graphics will be the trailer was generated to show you what the game could possiblt be like.

Gaming companies do this all the time. I dont have any doubts that the graphics will blow those away.

Two things that I noticed.

1) If you look, there is a poster of the Turning Point 05 PPV, with Team 3D. And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't Jeff Hardy out by then? So that shows that Jeff might not be in the game. Of course, I could be wrong.

2) Those pictures have been englarged, so the pixels are distorted a small bit, so that makes the graphics look kind of bad. Plus, it's only a vid, and it won't be the actual graphics..

But, at least us TNA fans are getting a game!

It says online that it was cancelled for XB but still up for PS2, Im hoping this game has a legends portion and elevation X.

if they did actualley have legends they should have

Curt Henning
Ken Shamrock
Scott Hall
DDP
Malice

and alot of other people from the earlier days.

Jeff Hardy is definitely not in the game. Neither is Monty Brown. They cant be since there under contract to WWE and they are just working on the game this year since its comming out next year.

Legend imo should be:

Macho Man- He had a brief stint in there when it was the Legends of Wrestling vs. Jeff Hardy, Aj Styles and Machoman when he didnt show up.

Malice- He also had a brief stint and had a feud with the likes of Sabu and etc.

Those are the only two I can think of that havent been there for a while. The main thing they shoul work on though is definitely the roster, graphics to be good on next gen and the way the different and ''invovated'' match systems.

At TNA's Bound For Glory pay-per-view this weekend, Midway Games will be holding a major media launch for "TNA Impact: The Video Game." This is the first pro wrestling video game associated with a major promotion other than WWE since WCW shutdown in 2001. The game is scheduled to be released in May for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Playstation 2.

Both Samoa Joe and AJ Styles have spent a lot of time with Midway producers fine-tuning all the details of the game. So far the following as been confirmed:

- The Impact video game will feature 20 TNA performers that are all customizable within the game. Top names on the game include Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Sting, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, Abyss, and AJ Styles.

- Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Sting, and Jeff Jarrett will be featured on the cover of the game.

- The Six-Sided ring will be included in the game and will feature the TNA specialty matches The Ultimate X, The King of The Mountain, and tag team matches and Fatal Four Ways. Midway is teasing that the game will feature "Online Tournaments".

- A story mode will be included into the game that is said to be similar to WWE video games. Story mode will allow players to create and choose a career path based on decisions that they take during the storyline. Gamers will be able to choose the look of their character as well as their managers who will specialize in different fighting styles.

- Mini games will be included in the game as they will be played to help enhance a character's appearance and abilities as well as unlock hidden features in the game.

- There will also be a Create A Wrestler mode where you will be able to create your very own performer.

Finally, some details. It would all be sweet for me... if it wasn't for the tiny roster. Twenty wrestlers is a bit stingy isn't it? I bet they're probably sacrificed pretty much the entire X Division just so Team 3D can be in it. I'll still definitely be renting it out though, although I'm greatly saddened that Senshi probably won't be featuring.

Yeah it really is good to finally see the recent details on this game however I dont know if I will be purchasing it because like you said the roster is very small and there will defenitely be a major deficieny of X division guys and way too many Dudleys. either way I will at least give it a shot and if the game quality really is spectacular and I can use Chris Sabin then I may actually end up buying it in the end, probably not though

This game could end up having 10 guys, a 4-sided ring, & the crappest graphics in the world.. but it'd still sell big, just because of 2 reasons.

1. Its T.N.A.'s first, ever, wrestling game. And because of that, it'll be something different from W.W.E. -- even if the only difference is the "name."

2. It is promising to feature "T.N.A. ONLY" things, like the 6 sided ring, & the King of the Mountain, & Ultimate X matches. This feature alone will sell this game. I'm waiting with more than excitement, just to try out the Ultimate X match, as well as the King of the Mountain match.

I think the 20 man roster will be a let down, has the entire 20 men been annunced? I know the main guys.. Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Christian, Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, Rhino, & Abyss are all in it.. but who're the others? I swear I heard Senshi would be in it.

I think it'd be a major mistake not to add L.A.X., Team 3-D, or V.K.M. - W.W.E.'s games are having major issues because of the lack of mid-carders & a Tag Team Division, being in thier games.. but if only 20 guys are in.. I've just named off 17 guys alone.. & that doesn't include many X-Division stars. Although I bet Chris Saban & Petey Williams will make the cut, but guys like Alex Shelley, Sonjay Dutt, Sharkboy & Eric Young will be dropped.

Also, what about mid-carders like Robert Roode, Ron Killings & Lance Hoyt? And finally.. no sign of either Chris Harris OR James Storm? If they leave America's Most Wanted out of T.N.A.'s first game, that is what will send me over the edge. A.M.W. has been the heart & soul of the Tag Team division, like A.J. Styles has been to the X-Division. (I know A.M.W. aren't together, but that doesn't mean they deserve left off the game)

The up side is, you could easily create all of them I'm sure, with the CAW mode. Unless they screw you outta any good attire. (W.W.E.'s SD franchise is doing that lately, with the weirdest, crappest layouts to put over attires)

Regardless, its still a must see, must rent, possibly must buy game.. just because it'll be their first ever.

Here's a Pic of Christian,I think this is incredibly detailed and it looks very real,im looking forward to this game,i wonder if they can beat wwe's games ?

That's surprisingly detailed and pretty amazing if it does represent what will be present in the complete game. I think that 20 men is way too small, there's going to be hardly any tag teams, if any, and the X Division roster will be tiny. I just don't understand why they would release a game that seems incomplete.

I just don't understand why they would release a game that seems incomplete.

W.W.E.'s done it for years.. lol They always manage to add something to make the original seem out-dated, but yet manage even more to piss the fans off by altering, taking out, or not adding ENOUGH to the new version.

I've said it for years, since they've done it. The crotch blur is annoying & doesn't belong. I get that they don't like "smart" people making nude caws, it has no place in a wrestling game. (except for, unless Hornswoggle will be included this year) But why punish ALL of us?! I dispised not being able to full create a guy & tights with designs on the crotch & butt. Without them, he just has crap on his legs.

Anyways, that was a side rant on a different topic. My view on that (above) graphic is shock & amaze. Christian looks HIGHLY detailed & most likely, the reason why there are only 20 guys.. is to allow each of them the very best in polygraphs/gons? & to allow the very best in design for all the match-features. (Ultimate X, six sides of steel, King of the Mountain, etc)

Look at the W.W.E. games. Their Elimination Chamber, sucks! They can't even fit enough space in their games to allow for entrances in all the match types. While MOST people cut through the intros anyways, I like them. It takes all the fun out.

Also, one final side note. T.N.A. mentioned having different arenas, including Japan. If you notice, Christian is likely IN the Japan arena's entrance. (I see japanese writing behind/beside him)

Well here is some more updated some and i have to say this game looks good. I mean deccent enough that i'm sure you can play and be satisified with. From some of the background stuff they showcase in one video looks like Midway games is doing their best to make the game seem realistic and I have to say i can not wait. Now I'm not expecting much on this first one as i believe it will be on par with WWE but i'm excited to see what midway has done with this when i get to play it. So here is some new videos of the game and some pictures.

I was worried about there only being 20 wrestlers. But now it says over 20 wrestlers. I am excited about how they put the career mode and having a manager to help train you. I can't wait for this game.

More than 20 customizable TNA superstars

What do you imagine the word "customizable" means to them? Does it mean move-sets can be altered, outfits can be changed? What?

It'd be awesome if you could change the "color" of their outfits, yet not change their overall outfit. (remember the N64 games, you could alter colors, but the outfits remained the same, unless you put another wrestlers entire outfit on them, of course)

Also, in that video (the 2nd) that A.J. has.. I noticed L.A.X., Eric Young, & Scott Steiner. Those 4 hadn't been mentioned before. Also, with Sonjay Dutt & Senshi helping put the game together, wouldn't you imagine they'd both be IN the game?

(Side note: I realize Chris Kanyon helped do the same thing for several SD games, yet wasn't featured in them - but maybe this will be different)

whatever this game comes out to be like it will be better then the same old WWE Smackdown Series. i mean ell in the cell has been in since what Smackdown 2 and they still have not changed how it brakes through the middle. common..

WWE's day of Reckoning series for the gamecube in my opinion had to be the best wrestling games i ever played. it had the same gameplay style as the N64 hits but the graphics of the cube. the season mode was legendary as well. going thru the WWE lower league and working your way up was a great idea.

if this game is anything like that i will be impressed.

Definitely. That game is the benchmark for the wrestling games of it's generation (and potentially of all time for me...aside from Fire Pro, anyway). I just hope to high heaven that the TNA game has an extensive CAW layout and PLENTY of save slots. That's the one thing I really disliked about DOR. There weren't nearly enough save slots for created wrestlers on one memory card. I'm such a friggin' nerd that I bought five more memory cards to house all the created wrestlers I've made. What's funny, though, is that whenever I have a game night with all my buddies, we don't play anything except for the damn wrestling game. We've been playing DOR for almost two years and every Saturday we log nearly five hours at a clip before trying another game. It's probably because of all the created wrestlers, or just because the game is so damn fun. I'm also praying that the gameplay depth is immense for TNA Impact. I couldn't give a rat's ass about seeing phenomenal graphics if the gameplay is weak (see the Smackdown/Raw series). I'd rather have a next-gen system version of Day of Reckoning with the same graphics as what is on the Gamecube version, but then just making it VASTLY deep so that you never run into anything old in the game in terms of moves or anything else.

From what i've seen so far this game looks incredible, and i hope that it is a great game,i've noticed about the models of the superstars and that is everyone in this Game does not have Rock hard abs like in wwe games,it's so stupid that everyone has rock abs in wwe games.

Even though they only use stock movesets, the animation and fluidity of the new Impact! game looks way better than the asswipe SVR series. This is the first time I've been excited for an stateside wrestling release since I was let down by Day of Reckoning 2...which was a fat pile of shit.

This is a gameplay video and it also features a battling promo between Christian Cage and Samoa Joe before, during, and after.

Man sorry but look at Kurt Angle im a big wrestling fan and i have to say that looks exactly like Kurt Angle, the wwe games version looked like him but not as good.

I only hope that they give Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, LAX ect thier new entrance themes okay its difficult to redo the entrances so keep the ones they have but at least update thier titantron and themes.

I also found out that you can copy TNA wrestlers and edit them to your pleasing so you basically have the original Kurt Angle in the game and the edited one separate which is a good idea because they need the original models for the storyline mode.

Each arena is different atmosphere theres a Japan one, UK, Mexico and i hope they have the Asylum in there somewhere granted not with a square ring because that would involve having to do all of the moves again ect.

The games gonna fucking rock for us real wrestling fans and real gamers who appreciate a good game not like casual gamers who wont appreciate the game or will act like they loved it all along.
I just hate how people who have never seen TNA or wrestling will now want to watch it and will say all the wrong things about it, for example they might not know who Jey Lethal is supposed to be and think thats an original character clearly its a spoof of Mach Man Randy Savagebut a good one at that.
OR they might try and act like there TNA biggest fan when clearly they didn't even know about it before, some ****s like NEDS CHAVS, whatever bad stereotype you have in the USA will be really gay and you'll hear them talking about TNA and it will piss me off.

When i first watched TNA i did my research into it so that i didnt get the wrong end of the stick which is clearly what will happen when the game comes out.

Im going to have a stay puff man sized argument with the guy in Geforce a game shop in Glasgow whos gonna blab about TNA to customers coz hes not that old prolly his 20s and im gonna have to give a lesson in wrestling. Gonna have to kill anyone who gets the wrong idea about TNA man they would say Angle is shit and gay but really is one of the best technical wrestlers of our time all just because he plays a heel character. HECK they wont even know what a heel is.

CLEARLY THE BEST GAME EVER NEXT TO HALF LIFE 2 AND THEN GRAPHICALLY ITS GENIUS but fuck its gonna ruin TNA in a good way, people will start to watch it after seeing the gmae and then blam they get all the wrong ideas about tna game seriously just watch everyone who has never heard of tna get all the wron ideas about it like they will say Angle has allways been in TNA

What are you talking about?

If anyone has never seen TNA and pick up this game they are probably a WWE fan. Non-wrestling fans don't buy wrestling games. So that would mean they would know Kurt Angle was in the WWE before TNA.

But back to my quesion, what are you talking about? How would that ruin TNA anyway, if someone thought Angle has always been there? This game won't ruin TNA, if anything it'll give them some new fans which TNA needs.

I hope they give the individual wreslters their own animations, like when each person does a body slam or suplex, no two are the same and they add their own unique flaws to the move, that would add to the relizism of the game and increase the interest of the game to me.

why dont non wrestling fans buy wrestling games coz some of them are really good games its just another game to play heck i dont like football but i still play pro evolution soccer heck i dont even like ice hockey that much but i still always go the Detroit red wings in nhl

okay im a liar i was just pissed about people who have never even seen TNA will pick up the game and say like what i thought Angle was in WWE or summit, it will get them fans but most likley not even wrestling fans will get that game.

Its just that when someone new comes into something they might start by watching and asking or researching first then decide what they think in refusing to say opinion coz you can have one but still be wrong so you dont deserve an opinion the first place coz thats like me saying mars bars are actually made from cereal clearly they are not but some wont and just form their own idea about something straight away like they might think Eric young was amazing or that abyss was a kane clone clearly not or that TNA was a shitty fake WWE game

it would give them viewers but they dont want to turn into another current day WWE do they want to get decent fans that will respect the program and the guys in the show and buy their merchandise

its like any sport like football/soccer its fucked up coz one guy might like a team and the other even tho the other guys team won the league would say that team is shitty without explanation fair do's if they didnt deserve to win coz they got a penalty for some absurd reason or somthing but most of the time its like racists who only hate a person coz they have a certain skin tone even tho they might be sound as really nice and hardworking

From what I've seen it looks more like a fighting game than a wrestling game IMO. I mean from the gameplay footage it looks like it's more fast paced and strike based gaming rather than using grapples and such. For example the gameplay footage of Sting and Angle. It just didn't feel like them in the ring. It looked like a wrestling version of Street Fighter. I mean the graphics are really good for a wrestling game but is it really gonna be a wrestling game or more of a fighting game?

But I do plan on picking up a copy before I give away true judgement.

I haven't seen that much but from the little I have seen of it it lookspretty good. It'd be hard not to have a better game than the last game wwe put out, which was jsut bad overall. The graphics were teh only redeeming quiality. Supposedly there's a feature where you can make your own music in this game. That and the 6 side ring should make a great game overall.
