Tiger and Sergio Go To Popeyes

Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia have been "feuding" so to speak the last month or so. The feud turned ugly (or hilarious) with a comment made by Garcia last night. He was asked at a European Tour function if he would be inviting Woods to dinner during next month's U.S. Open. Sergio responded by saying:

We'll have him 'round every night. We will serve fried chicken.

The comment made by Sergio was absolutely hilarious but can also be seen as racist. Tiger was none too pleased by the comment and Sergio has since apologized by saying he meant it in a joking manner. Here is a response from ESPN personality Michael Smith:

So what are your thoughts on the comments and the responses? Racist? Hilarious? Both?

It's a racist statement, but it doesn't mean he's racist.

Sergio clearly doesn't like Tiger Woods and is jealous of his success. And to apologize for what he said was even worse. Garcia wants to keep his sponsors happy, which doesn't mean he's any less of a racist - he just has a poor choice of words.

That being said, it'll be quite awkward once Tiger and Sergio run into each other again.
