The WZ Bowl Mania Pool

IrishCanadian25

Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
So a few weeks back, Justin organized a Wrestlezone Forums College Bowl Series pool on ESPN.com. With the first week just about in the books and the big games approaching, here are the standings:

1. Death is a Right. Currently 4-2 and with 14 points.

2. Justinsayne. Also 4-2, 13 points. Not far off.

2. A.J. Tied with Justinsayne, same score.

4. Brian Becker. 3-3 with 11 points, though he lost one of his high confidence picks and his max points dropped. Rumor has it Jonny B red repped his picks and blew his chances to win the tourney. :)

5. IC25. I'm sitting at 2-4 but with a lot of ground left.

6. Big Wes. Big Wes layed a Big Egg so far. 0-6. No points.

Lol, what was it all about?
I'm inclined to say here I understand none of what you said lol. Yet for some reason I'm intrigued, :lol2:

I blame Memphis. Where is Deangelo Williams when you need him? They must've never woke up.. :icon_cry:

LOL! I am winning, i forgot about this but I knew I was going to win when I signed up. Gotta make my NFL picks now.

I am still sticking with the underdogs. Its funner this way.. So if i win, I will be lucky..

Ahhh yes, I forgot about this, well not really, just forgot to make a thread to update the standings and what not, nice to see I'm tied for second especially since I just blindly guessed on most of my picks, LOL

Central Michigan lost after a nice comeback... I guess they forgot football was a 60 minute game not 59 :(

As of 12/27:

1. Justinsayne. Now 5-2 with 20 points. Pulled ahead HUGE here, but it's still very early and the major confidence picks are still to come.

2. Death is a Right. 4-3, just got passed up by Justin. Still very much in this thing, with 14 points.

3. AJ. Also 4-3, but got passed for 2nd as he is now sitting with 13 points. Nipping at DIAR's heels for 2nd place.

4. Brian Becker. Just like his pro football posts, he followed up a weak performance with nothing additional and still has 11 points and a 3-4 record.

5. IC25. Times are tough for our hero, now 2-5 with only 7 points. Oh well, at least there's always...

27. Big Wes. At 0-7, Wes dropped from 6th place to 27th place despite the fact that no new members were added. I don't come up with the rankings - it's all computerized in a system I call the "I.C.C.S" or "Irish-Canadian Championship System."

Texas vs Arizona State tonight, with a big Friday and Saturday looming on the horizon.

maybe because I am taking upsets. If everyone is taking people that are favored their is no shot of winning. I took Central Michigan, the same Central Michigan who got blown out by Purdue earlier this year.

If only Central Michigan had been as defensive last night as you are now, they'd have beaten Purdue!

...and I had Central Michigan too...

Well they were underdogs, and rightfully so, Purdue handed it to them in their first meeting, and handed it to them last night. Central Michigan should not have been in that game. the only reason why they were in that game is
A) Painter had 2 interceptions.
B) Purdue lost a fumble
C) Lefevour (sp) threw no Interceptions.
D) Central Michigan as a team was turnover free
E) Lefevour has the ability to extend plays.

As of 12/28:

1. Justinsayne. 6-2 with 28 points. Justin pulled ahead HUGE last night.

2. IC25. Told you so. 3-5, but with 15 points. I'm coming for ya, Justin, thanks to Texas.

3. DIAR. 4-4 but with 14 points. Still poised to make a major move.

4. AJ. 4-4 with 13 points. Not far behind 2nd place at all.

5. Brian Becker. 3-5 with 11 points. Underdogs have done a lot of damage to Brian's chances, but he's not out of it. Someone who is...

132. Big Wes. 0-8. The Miami Dolphins of the Bowl Pool. Let's put it this way - I have 15 points to put me in 2nd here and I am ranked #255,471 in the nation on ESPN.com. Wes's national ranking requires exponents.

Huge weekend coming up, we'll see where we stand Monday.

alright.. I knew i should have never went with all underdogs. I thought ASU was favored though... I don't know, but this goes on for quite some time...

As of 12/30:

1. Justinsayne. 9-5 with 62 points. Strong weekend despite going 3-3. Got lots of extra points from confidence picks.

2. IC25. At 7-7 with 59 points. Now extremely close to Justin. Me Want Title Match!

3. DIAR. 8-6 with 58 points. Quite literally nipping at mine and Justin's heels.

4. AJ. 8-6 with 57 points. Also very much in this thing.

5. Brian Becker. 4-10 with 15 points. Justin had 15 points after day one. Names his team "I am Better than You" and proceeds to do this. Ouch.

7829. Big Wes. 0-14. It's amazing to think he could have picked 14 straight losers. In fact, I am more impressed by Wes than anybody right now. To think, had he gone 100% against his original feeling he could be top 25 in the nation right now.

Going into New Year's, it's crunch time.

As of 1/1 @ 1:20 am EST:

1. IC25! 13-8 with 164 points. HUGE New Year's Eve for our hero! I'm coming from out of nowhere like the Milan Miracle himself!

2. Justinsayne. 13-8 with 134 points. Good record, but no confidence points. Still a contender despite HIS FACE!

3. DIAR. 12-9, 128 points. Still kicking.

4. AJ. 12-9, 124 points. In a slap fight with DIAR for 3rd.

5. Brian Becker. 8-13 with 94 points. Like the roadkill on the side of the highway still twitching. Just squash it with a rock.

38972. Big Wes. 0-21. Dude, how the HELL did you pick 21 CONSECUTIVE WRONG ANSWERS!? Doesn't luck factor in ONCE!? The top player in the nation is 20-1, and yet I find YOUR record vastly more impressive. WOW!

Wes, try not to win a single game. That'd be an awesome way to ring in 2008. New Years Day is HUGE. Go Rainbow Warriors!

Hey!!, I can score a possible 147 pts. today (just figured it out), I saved all my confidence picks for the end, for the real games;)

EDIT: FACE!!!!...LOL:p

So did I, Justin. I never selected any confidence scores so each game increases my chances to pull ahead too.
