The WrestleZone Tournament Has Begun

I never argued for the NWA International Heavyweight Championship. Come on now, Doc...lol
You made it seem like Bryan's ROH World Championship reign is somehow less of a world title reign than Brody's International Heavyweight Championship reign.

I mean, I voted for Bryan, mostly because I thought Brody would win easily and I wanted to show some support to my favorite guy, but jeeeeez.

Shelton and Hardy are two very different talents and I see the positives in both of them. However, Jeff is more over than Shelton in most promotions, he's put higher on the card, and he's more fun to watch (though that's just a matter of personal opinion). If Shelton wins, I won't be the least bit concerned, but I voted Jeff because I think he deserves the win here.

I just want to know what classifies as a world championship because we're talking about two different eras here.

Looks like you were wrong on Brody winning easily. Never underestimate, Doc. I have before.

Really? You thought Daniel Bryan, the number one wrestler in the heart of internet fanboys everywhere, would lose to some dude that most internet fans know for being stabbed in Puerto Rico? I've held off on voting because I'm sure Brody deserves it, but I don't feel like doing the legwork to convince me on why, and while I trust the opinions of KB and Sly, I don't want to vote for anyone until I've seen something of theirs with my own two eyes.

Danielson dominated a hell of a competitive title scene. I don't see why people are neglecting to give him credit for that.

JGlass, response for your shit post is forthcoming.

And while you are at it respond to my post as well. I want to know how winning ONE heavyweight title in an indy company and not even being the best tag team in the promotion in which he is wrestling equals thriving in a non WWE environment.

It certainly does more to equate to thriving than stinking the joint out in Japan, stinking the joint out on the indies, and being a shell of your former self in TNA.

Additionally, why does someone need to be part of the best tag team for you to consider him to be "thriving?" So because KOW are amazing, WGTT aren't thriving? Que?

I guess because E&C was the best tag team of the Attitude Era, the Hardy Boyz never thrived at the turn of the decade.

I'm rolling my eyes. In case you were wondering.

As you will find out Jeff has won a bit in the indy circuit as well. Shelton has just won that one little indy title. Yet Jeff has had the better career.

Also in order to be considered an indy success you have at least got to be the best thing in your indy promotion. It still does not compare to Hardy's successes in WWE and TNA but at least then you will have something to go upon.

Like I said Benjamin has won one title and is not even the biggest attraction of the indy he is working in. Yet he has thrived in a non WWE environment and Jeff who has won more indy titles than Benjamin and won the TNA world title sucks in a non WWE environment according to you.

Is it fair to say career wise that Benjamin is on the same level as Matt Hardy and Kane who beat Jeff Hardy when he was a "main eventer"?

So Austin Aries and Roderick Strong aren't successes because there's normally at least one man better than them in their home promotion? Tyler Black isn't a success? What kind of inane, meaningless standard is this? If this is the garbage you're going to throw at me, feel free to fold your tent now and stop wasting both of our time.

Dammit LJL, I didn't want to be dragged into the Hardy/Benjamin debate. I just wanted my written vote in there in case of a tie.

If Hardy isn't winning this by 9 p.m. on the 25th I'm going to have to get serious and fuck up some of these inane arguments in the Hardy/Benjamin thread. I also have two infractions to spare and I'm not afraid to use them.

Cool. Then you'll probably be banned by the time Benjamin wins. Works for me.

Especially since the wrestling industry has been heavy with drug use for decades. I don't condone someone using drugs, but to vote against a WRESTLER because of drug use is just silly. Back in the 80s, it seems it was harder to find someone who WASN'T on some kind of drug, than to find one who was.

I think it has more to do with his recent legal troubles, and being charged with trafficking as well as possession. That doesn't sit well with a lot of people, myself included.

His ring work has deteriorated dramatically outside of the WWE. Jeff Hardy needs Vince McMahon and the culture of the WWE to thrive most nights.

Even though I voted for Hardy, this is absolutely true.

I'm open to any Benjamin defense, but the drug argument is stupid and dead in the water.

When I vote, I think of each man when he was at his absolute best (Hardy 2000-2009). Using the drug charge, in this tournament, seems a bit weak.

I just can't believe that some people actually think that Danielson would have an easy time against Brody, plotkai must be some people's favorite word.

I'm surprised people have the nuts the go off on Bryan for being boring when to most people he's one the WWE's most exciting acquisitions in recent memory.

The whole point of the tournament is to compare two characters in a hypothetical match, to say whether someone is popular or not is not the point at all.
