The United States Of America

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
Objectively better than the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. However, that means that China will get you first.

So, really, who's the real winner here?

In terms of Asian domination, obviously.

Though England is clearly the best nation in history. A special shoutout to Germany for taking the heat off of all the evil shit we did. Merka is still learning though; has a few questionable deeds for itself in the last hundred years. Attaboy!

This will another American century China while probably surpassing our GDP/GDI soon enough will still not have our influence over culture or global policy.

Going on birth rate projections India will soon surpass China in terms of population(perhaps in a generation). India also has a growing economy at the moment so to say that China is a lock to take over may be presumptuous.

I of course would like America to return to the economic policies and methods which made us great, but our government doesnt exactly seem too interested in that at the moment. Which is rather disturbing when you think about it.

When you have over a sixth of the world's population, I think both of those are questionable.
Population sure, they got that, but really I doubt we'll all be switching to the Chinese way of life anytime soon. But them? They already want the western (American) "middle class" culture, it's accompanying trappings, comfort and status symbols. They're assimilating quite nicely. They've been importing it for decades and don't look to be stopping anytime soon. We'll still be the arbiter of culture at least for a good portion of this century.
As far a global policy? China has a vested interest in the US dollar, wants our culture and will continue to buy it as we sell it, not to mention the US still spends more than any other nation (46% of the world's combined spending) on it's military technologies/defense, puts forth most communication innovations (the interwebs etc) and the old hegemony of American individualism and free market expansion still has some legs. Legs, I might add, that China has not been able to stand on either. Honestly, as China grows, we'll be the best of freinemies. Then, perhaps eventually, we'll get our little red books ready. *shrug*
