This is going to be an AWESOME, AWESOME show, especially considering this is a free card.

Jon Jones vs. Matt Hamill is going to be fucking epic, and for me it’s an impossible one to call. On one hand, you got Bones, who has looked unstoppable in his fights in the UFC thus far, but on the other, you have Hamill, who is one of the best wrestlers in MMA, with tremendous knock out power to go along with it. I just don’t know how this one is going to play out. Hamill’s a bit stubborn with his stand-up and he thinks it’s a lot better than it actually is. I think if he stands and trades with Bones, while Hamill will still stand a puncher’s chance, I don’t see him winning the fight that way. However, if Hamill sticks to his roots and takes Bones to the ground, then Hamill very well could find a way to win this one. I don’t know. But I do expect this fight to be fast pace, and very, very exciting.

I see Brendan Schaub completely dominating Roy Nelson. Sure, you might say I’m biased since I’m not a fan of Nelson in the least bit, but in all honesty… I just don’t see how Nelson stands a chance. Schaub is just too good on the feet for Nelson to hang with him there without getting knocked out, and Schaub is also too quick to be taken down by someone like Nelson, and even if Schaub is taking to the ground by some miracle, he’s still more competent there than the other two guys we’ve seen Nelson submit on the show. I just see no way Nelson wins this one, no way.

Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander is going to be awesome. I expect the fans to be going nuts during this one (who they root for… I have no idea), and I expect a KO in the 1st Round. Who wins… your guess is as good as mine. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on Houston Alexander, but at the same time… it’s hard to count Kimbo out, since he’s in there with someone who will, no doubt, fight Kimbo’s fight. So, whatever happens happens, but you damn well know it’s going to be fun as shit to witness.

Frankie Edgar is an unbelievable fighter and I fully expect him to beat this Matt Veach guy. I might be underestimating Veach, because I haven’t seen much of him, but it’s impossible to pick a newbie against someone like Frankie Edgar.

Marcus Jones vs. Matt Mitrione can go either way. It all depends where the fight takes place. If Marcus can’t get Meathead down, then Big Baby will most likely get knocked out, but if Marcus can keep the fight on the ground, then he’ll either submit Meathead or grind out a decision. I’m certainly rooting for Marcus, but he really, really, really needs to work on his stand-up, otherwise he won't win many fights in the UFC.

And as far as the Prelims are concerned… definitely pulling for Darrill Schoonover to knock out James McSweeney, but that’s really all I have to say. None of the other fights interest.

Nelson v. Shaub should be an interesting and pretty evenly matched fight. Shaub has shown some great KO power, but Nelson definelyt has the advantage on the ground. If he can take Shaub down and stay on top, I think he has enough experience to control him and get him into that crucifix thing or something like that. I'm rooting for Shaub, but I think Roy is the favorite here.

Jones v. Hammill is a fuckin' awesome fight. Two of my favorites guys in the UFC. Jones is exciting as hell to watch and has been dominant thus far. Hammill is a great story and a hell of a fighter too. He's had some great fights in the UFC and has went up against some pretty tough competition, I think he wins with his wrestling here.

I'm exciting for any Kimbo fight and he really needs a win here. It's pretty much just going to be the 2 guys standing and punching, which will be very exciting to watch. I want Kimbo to win and he has to if he wants to prove that he's legit, but it's really just s toss up, especially if he's knees are still hurting.

No idea who Edgar is fighting, so I'm guessing he'll win. Don't care much though.

I'm thinking that Marcus is going to dominate Mitrione here. It just seems so easy for him to take guys down to the ground, and I don't think Mitrione is a guy that is going to be able to get up easily. I'm going with Marcus by submission

As for the other fights, I'm pulling for McSwenney. A lot of people may hate him, but I think he's pretty awesome and I don't care much at all for Shoonover, he wasn't impressive at all. Also, I got Wren over Madsen.

Nelson/Schaub should be a fairly good fight in my eyes. Both have extremely well rounded skills. I give the edge to Nelson though since he has more experienca and has shown it throughout this season. I have mixed feelings for this fight. I wanr Schaub to win but I picked Nelson at the begining and will be backing him in this fight. At the end of the night I think Nelson has better skills and will win the crown to everyones dismay.

Hamill/Jones gets me all antsie in the pansies. Should be a real good fight. Hamill is a great wrestler and Jones is very good on the feet. Jones has looked damn near invincible so far and has impressed the hell out of me. I believe him to be the future of the LHW division. Hamill is just as good though and besides being spanked by Rich Franklin and a tough lose to Bisping he has been quiet impressive himself. I think if it goes to the ground Hamill will win but if it stays standing then Jones will win.

Kimbo/Houston should be the most exciting fight of the night. Both love to slug and we all know that the casual fans love that shit, hell I love that shit. No way does this fight ever see the ground besides the guy who gets knocked the fuck out. I will give Kimbo the edge here because I think he is tougher and punches harder.

Mitrione/Jones, we could very well see the first UFC death in history. I think Jones will come out with bad intentions on his mind and is going to inact those intentions on Mitrione's rattled brain. Jones will take him down and tap him, no doubt in my mind.

McSweeney/Schoonover will be interesting as well. I hope to god Schoone knocks James clean out. McSweeney is a complete dousche but aside from that he has a questionable gas tank and not real great skills all around. He likes to drop his hands which will get him knocked out against someone like Schooneover. Schooneover is my choice here.

I will take Edgar over Veach based on what I have seen from Edgar. He looks like a title contender but I will keep an open mind because this Veach guy is 11-0.

Also, JMT, how can you not be excited to see Mark Bocek fighting? Well maybe I understand but still. I think Bocek is a great talent with phenominal ground skills.

Schaub/Nelson-I am pulling for Brendan Schaub like hell here, I can't stand Roy Nelson but I really do think he will win here. I know Schaub has good stand up, but Roy Nelson apperently has only been knocked out once and Schaub ain't no Andrei Arlovski on the feet. Not saying it can't happen, just saying I don't think it will. I don't exactly seeing Schaub controlling Nelson on the ground either. If Schaub does win I think he does so by outworking Nelson on the feet and avoiding the ground at all costs and pulling out a decision. If it goes to the ground I wouldn't be surprised to see Roy lock in the big belly crucifix and pound his way to another win.

I like Matt Hamill, and haven't seen much of Bones Jones, though I've seen some of the cards he was on, but I don't know how the hell I missed him. I hope Hamill pulls this out, it would be another win under his belt, but not knowing enough about Jones I can't call this one.

You know, I used to be a Kimbo basher, flamed his youtube videos and everything, just blindy hated the guy, but TUF has made me a fan. I hope to hell Kimbo pulls this out he really seems like a good dude, and he really looks like he wants to learn and get better and shed his internet brawler days which I really respect. This one could go either way though, Houston can throw so who knows. I hope Kimbo knocks him out, I really do.

Marcus all the way, I think he takes him down and pounds the hell out of him, along with Titties, Meathead was one of my least favorites in the house so naturally I want him to get his ass beat. I am thrilled that The Darkness is the one to do it, Meathead pretty much sucks all round, and except for that he's strong he has no real strengths. I think Marcus should take this one. I can't see why he wouldn't.

I know everybody hates James Mcsweeny, but I hope heat beats the hell out of Titties. I know James can be cocky but isn't everybody usually a asshole on TUF to an extent? I think Chris Leben was a total asshole on TUF and he has many fans. So that hasn't really bothered me, I figured this was one of those types of shows where you just picked who you like and who you didn't so I hope James takes this and gets invited back to the UFC.

Whoa there now Rizza, let's not go comparing James McSweeney to Chris Leben. Leben deep down had a heart of gold, and the fact was, even if he was a bit of an asshole at times (only when he was drunk, mind you), he was still entertaining as shit, whereas McSweeney was just cruel and all around lame. Also, Chris could bang and had the heart of a fucking lion on the show, whereas McSweeney gasses after only a couple of minutes and his bark ends up being much louder than his bite.

To me, McSweeney just came off as a stupid jerk on the entire season, which is odd considering how cool all the Brits were last season on The Ultimate Fighter compared to the Americans. But I guess McSweeney has just spent too much time in the states, because there doesn't seem to be an ounce of class in that douche.

I really, really hope 'Titties' knocks his ass out, I really do. :icon_wink:

I always say that free MMA is the best MMA. Tomorrow night should be no exception. This is virtually a PPV quality card, that only lacks a true main event. The fact that all of these fights are attractions and should be very exciting should make this one of the best cards of the year.

Roy Nelson vs. Brendan Schaub should be a great final. Schaub has a lot of raw talent, and should someday be one of the top heavyweights in the division. However, right now, I don't think that he can beat someone who is so well rounded and experienced like Roy Nelson. Big Country is a former IFL Champion, don't forget, and he is a BJJ black belt. He also has shown that his gameplan has so far proven to work very well. He doesn't expel too much energy and uses that gut of his to his advantage. He's going to try to make Schaub work off of his back, and it remains to be seen how good his ground game is. Nelson's strategy is going to be to lay and pray his way to victory, and chances are that's what's going to happen.

I've been looking forward to Jon Jones vs. Matt Hamill ever since the fight was announced. I'm a huge fan of both guys, especially Jones, and I see Jones taking it. Jones is just a lot more explosive, and as good a wrestler Hamill is, Jones could be better. Plus, Jones has the definite reach advantage. This is a really good test for Jones to see how he stands in the division. Hamill's got the heart and determination, he's very hard to finish, and I see a very exciting decision victory for Jones taking place. Jones has some ever improving standup, and although Hamill has the definite advantage as far as experience goes, so far Jones has proved to be skilled beyond his years. I think he takes a very exciting decision victory here.

I can't wait for Marcus Jones and Matt Mitrione with the grudge these two have developed over The Ultimate Fighter. Jones is showing that he has the ability to translate his skills as a defensive lineman to a very good ground-based game. However, he needs to showcase a better standup game. I don't think we'll see that in this fight. I think Jones will look to take him to the ground right away and ground and pound his way to victory, which is probably going to happen.

A lot of people are underestimating Kimbo Slice against Houston Alexander. They don't think he's experienced enough, when really, he's been fighting his entire life. I think Kimbo will take the standup war... Alexander's true claim to fame is a fluke victory over Keith Jardine. Alexander's shown that one punch (especially by someone like James Irvin) is enough to beat him. One punch is all it takes for Kimbo, and he's a hell of a better striker than James Irvin is, that's for sure.

Matt Veach is no slouch... he's undefeated so far in his career, but Frankie Edgar's on another level right now, and he's emerging as a top contender in the lightweight division, proving himself against some real good competition. I think Edgar dominates his way to a decision win here.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, was this an interesting card, to say the least. I learned a lot of things from this card and I am sure you guys did as well. For instance did you guys know that Houston Alexander knows what a gameplan looks like and can follow one? Did you know that Kimbo actually has a half decent ground game? How about that a straight elbow to the face is illegal? And finally that Big Country is fat? Well I learned the answers to all of the above and will get to them shortly.

First and formost, Mark Bocek impressed me once again. He looked great in his dominate victory over Joe Brammer. He looked fantastic and I cannot wait to see him step up in competition.

McSweeney pissed me off as always. I was really pulling for Schoon in this one but it just was not to be. I didn't get to see this whole fight because the feed was cutting in an out on my tv, don't know why. Didn't realize Schoon was a military man. I hope his next trip goes smoothly and he returns to the cage.

Marcus looked great until he got knocked the fuck out by Mitrione. Mitrione really impressed me with his win but I am still not a fan. His after the fight antics for some reason rubbed me the wrong way and I hope he fails in the UFC. Quote me on that because I will not say that about many people.

Edgar looked good again. This kid should be challenging the lightweight champ anytime now. He really impresses me more and more every fight. That Veach kid is no slouch either. I can see a bright future for him as well.

Kimbo and Houston where do I start. Well I will start about 3 and a half minute into it. The begining was incredible boring but Houston showed that he can use a gameplan and use it I guess well. He kicked the leg and got away. Second round we finally got to see something good. Kimbo and Houston let loose on each other a little bit but I was more surprised by the ground game of Kimbo. He beat the shit out of Houston on the ground and looked good doing so. Then in the third round when both men were tired I thought they finally opened up a little more on each other. Kimbo wins, not a great fight but interestingly enough I was not disappointed either.

Hamill/Jones was another interesting fight. Hamill looked good for about 30 seconds and then Jones began to look like what I believe him to be. One of the baddest mother shut your mouths in the LHW division. That ground and pound was vicious as hell. I never knew that a 12/6? elbow was illegal, now I do. Hamill looked terrible with the blood covering his eyes and whatnot. I seriously though he might me dead or dying for a moment. The decision was shocking though. At first I, along with many other, though Jones had won, then it was announced that he was DQ'd which made me yell atr the tv. I thought if anything it should have gone down as a No Contest. Oh well, Jones proved that he deserves a step up in competition and hopefulyl Dana and Joe Silva do the right thing and give him some bigger fights.

The TUF finale was entertaining as hell to me. First we get Big Country coming out to fat by Weird Al which made me nearly fall in love with him. Nothing is better then a man who makes fun of his own fatness. Then we got Schaub throwing some great punches and hurting Nelson. Nelson doing his thing on top which I thought the fight would be over there but they got back up to the feet where Nelson threw a great fucking punch a knocked Schaub clean out. Nelson looked great in this fight and I think he will do well in the UFC. He will never be a champ but he will win some fights. Schaub on the other hand has a great future. I think he could very well be a champion someday.

All in all I thought it was a good card and all the video packages have just gotten me that more excited for Sanchez/Penn and next week when we get to see the world premier trailer for UFC Undisputed 2010.

Houston Alexander lost all my respect tonight. I don't buy into this "making a plan and sticking by it" crap, because that "plan" was absolute shit. Alexander should have had confidence in his hands. I mean, seriously... after Kimbo's lost to Seth Petruzelli, I thought Alexander's respect for Kimbo's striking and chin would never be that high, but apparently it was, which led to him fighting like a huge pussy. Him circling around the ring for 5 minutes is not strategy; it's being a fucking pussy.

Anyway, that 2nd Round was definitely fun; I'll admit that much. Kimbo got some good shots in, and got the best suplex I've seen in MMA in quite sometime. As far as his ground game... it wasn't very impressive, guys. He was fighting Houston Alexander, someone else who is illiterate on the ground and someone who is much smaller than Kimbo. Kimbo dominating HIM on the ground doesn't impress me. Also, Kimbo should have taken Alexander down after his success in the 2nd, but in the 3rd he just stood there taking those kicks, until one put him on his ass, which made Kimbo go for a single leg and he was able to take Houston down with ease. After they got back up I have no idea why Kimbo didn't take him down again. That was so fucking stupid and could have cost him the fight. Luckily for him though, it didn't.

I agreed with the judges decision in giving the fight to Kimbo, but honestly... I wasn't impressed by him whatsoever. He could have finished Houston in the 1st if he wanted to, but Kimbo was way too hesitant. But I am looking forward to seeing Kimbo fight again. Hopefully he continues to improve on the ground and in the clinch, and hopefully he can get his gas tank up.

As far as Houston Alexander.... well, I don't think we'll ever see him in the octagon again. Never have I been so disappointed in someone in MMA. Just an all around pathetic showing.

Anyway, as far as the rest of the card....

Ignoring the bullshit ruling, that Jon Jones is a fucking BEAST. I don't think he's on Anderson Silva level yet, but in a few years.... Jesus, this guy will be unbeatable. The way he manhandled Matt Hamill tonight was just shocking. Hamill is no fucking joke, kids. The only legit lost Hamill has ever had was against one of the most well-rounded fighters in the World in Rich Franklin, and Hamill had issues going into that fight. But tonight he just got tossed around and completely dominated. Unbelievable.

As far as the ruling... it was bullshit, but I don't think it matters. Also, props to Jones being such a class act. The dude's a devout Christian, and you can just tell by how he talks and carries himself that he's a good guy.

Roy Nelson shocked me tonight, to say the least. Completely shocked me. Not only did he get Schaub down, but he passed his guard and got side control. And when Schaub miraculously was able to defend off and get up, I couldn't believe it when Nelson knocked his ass out. That was the last thing I ever expected. But Nelson proved himself, man. I can't take anything away from him. He is definitely the real deal. His attitude though still really rubs me the wrong fucking way and I still can't wait to see him get his ass kicked, lol.

Marcus Jones.... so heartbreaking. Such a great guy, man. I hate to see him get hurt like that. But glass chins just don't belong in MMA, especially guys with literally ZERO striking ability. Marcus perhaps has the worst stand-up I've seen in any fighter ever in the UFC. He's that bad. But hopefully this wasn't the last we saw of him. I'm really pulling for him to bounce back. And as far as Mitrione is concerned... meh. I don't ever see him defeating anyone worth a shit.

Frank Edgar vs. Matt Veach was definitely the Fight of the Night. Veach was a tough little fucker, but he just wasn't ready for someone like Edgar. But yeah... Edgar shows once more just how talented he is. Seriously, when you see someone like Edgar so low on the totem pole, it just shows how STACKED the Lightweight Division is. It's truly unbelievable.

And as far as the two prelims that aired.... fucking McSweeney, still don't like the bastard. And decent showing from Mark Bocek in his fight against Joe Brammer. Too early to tell though if Mark Bocek is the real deal. If he is... then that's just another name for the Lightweight Division.

Edit: Also, words cannot express how awesome it was to see Joe Rogan interview Hulk Hogan during the show. I mean, first of all, to see Hulk interviewed by Joe Rogan during a UFC event, promoting TNA... is that something anyone could have ever thought of happening? I sure as shit didn't. That interview very well could have been the start of the next boom period in pro wrestling, you never know. So, that was cool. But what made it super awesome was Rogan's faces and mannerisms during the interview. Most of you probably only know about Rogan through his UFC commentating and perhaps the old show Fear Factor, but the guy is also a fucking genius stand-up comedian, who I respect deeply. I've seen all his acts, and I've kept up with his blog and forum for years now. To see someone like him, interview Hogan... you just can't imagine it, and Rogan acting the way he did during the interview was typical Joe. The guy fucking owns.

Shades of Kalib Starnes/Nate Quarry. That's all I thought of. I really thought at first that Houston's strategy was to try to make Kimbo dizzy and then try to go in for the kill... which in all fairness would have been worth a shot. But then it came apparent that he was just fighting like a pussy.

That entire fight was surreal. Whoever saw that going to a decision?! That second round was EPIC. Kimbo with some nice takedowns and demonstrating that he has a ground game... it was awesome to watch. I like Kimbo. He seems like he's a nice and humble guy, and he's supporting his kids as a single dad. It's not his fault that EliteXC took him to the bank and tried pushing him way over his head. I'm really glad that he's improving even more and that The Ultimate Fighter really seemed to help him out. Kimbo needs to polish up his submission skills now. He had Alexander in position to get subbed out, but he was unsure about how to finish him.

I mean yeah, Houston may be pretty shitty on the ground, but still give Kimbo credit for showing that he actually is working on a ground game and had enough confidence to go ahead and give it a shot against Houston Alexander.

Like you, I'm very much looking forward to his next fight, and I too am really disappointed with how Houston Alexander turned out. What impressive knockouts of Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara he had to start things off for his UFC career, only for it to evaporate so quickly to nothing. I was really pulling for Kimbo last night, but Alexander should have 100% taken that fight.

That DQ loss for Jones was complete bullshit. Yes, he used illegal elbows, but Jones had that fight won before the elbow came down. Just devastating ground and pound by Jones, and I've never seen Hamill get dominated that badly. Hamill was NOT intelligently defending himself as Jones was hammering away, and there even came a point where Jones was wondering when the stoppage was going to come. Mazzagatti is such a schmuck, and last night proved that more than ever. Hamill could have suffered some brain damage if that hadn't been stopped. Something needs to be done about Mazzagatti, who can pretty much be a danger to some of these guys. Last night demonstrated that more than ever. Still, Jones clearly won that fight, and I'm sure going forward, Dana and Joe Silva are going to regard that as a win for Jones, who proved last night that he's a force at 205. Jones has now proved himself against four very proven fighters. He's ready for the next level. He also showed how much class he had, not yelling and screaming about Mazzagatti's horrible decision as any other fighter would have had any right to do.

Give Matt Veach some credit. Everyone thought Edgar was going to dominate that fight. Veach hung in there, especially showing some explosiveness with some takedowns and slams. I didn't think he'd be able to keep up with Edgar's pace, and Edgar did finish him in the second. I think Edgar is one or two fights away at this point from a title shot. He's continuing to pass with flying colors so far in the UFC.

And finally, what a shot by Nelson to win TUF. You could tell Dana was so bullshit that he won.

Pretty good show, I was very pleased with the whole TUF season really, It was pretty cool with heavyweights this time, but next time I am hoping for Middleweights or Light Heavyweights.

James Mcsweeny FTW. I really like Mcsweeny despite his arrogance, and I am glad he put a hurting on Titties on his way back into the army, but I do respect Titties for giving up his fighting career right now to serve our country, much luck to Darrill Schoonover In Afghanistan. Anyways I was impressed with my boy James, he killed it on the stand up and was very improved on the ground as well. I loved the finish flying knee, head kick, punches to a TKO, that shit was beautiful, he did still have some weakness though, he got gassed easy, he gets too comfortable when he's in control and I hated the way he ignored the advice from the experienced cornermen. He should have been humbled to have Rashad Evans and Greg Jackson but he just brushed them off when they knew what the fuck they were talking about. Still, I am happy as hell he won, and I cant wait for him to come back and start climbing the ladder.

I was very saddened by Big Babys KO. Its such a shame he don't know how to throw a punch or guard correctly, because I swear he could have been a threat in the Heavy weight division. He is so damn good at taking people down and he's decent at controlling them there, more work on keeping people in position on the ground, and some good Mauy Tai or Kickboxing training, he could still be a pretty good fighter. I dont hate Matt as much either after this fight, he didn't throw Marcus under the bus as I thought he would and he seemed half-way normal, something he never seemed on the show, hell I might even root for him if he ever faced somebody I didn't know or didn't care for.

Wow, that first three minuets of that Kimbo fight was just awful. Im, surprised that Houston didn't get sick for real, I could never circle somebody for three minutes and not get dizzy as hell, his "gameplan" as they called it, was just terrible. I loved Kimbo in the second round, he let the guns blaze and really fucked Houston up good. The Kimbo-plex he pulled of was the shit too, and he has been working on his ground game, but I would wait and see until he faces somebody with ground game until we start deciding if he's improved enough to be a legit fighter in UFC. Happy as hell Kimbo won though, I can not wait till Slice steps back in the cage, I can't believe I used to hate this guy.

Not much to say about Hammil/Jones, except that Jones was clearly on his way to victory, threw an illegal elbow and got rightfully DQ'd. He should know that 12/6 elbows are illegal, this isn't a bar brawl, this is a sport if you break that rules and repeatedly throw 12/6 elbows you get DQ'd and lose.

I wanted Schaub to win this, but I really though Nelson was going to, Its the experience I think, and Nelson is pretty good fighter in his own right. His ground game his damn good, I even think I saw a youtube video of him beating Frank Mir in a grappling match, so I always think of his ground game as his bread and butter. I was very surprised to see Nelson just about knock him clean out on the feet like that. I think he was doing very well until he just got caught. Its happen to just about everyone at one time or another and on that night it happen to Schaub. Though in the end I think Big country will end up being a gatekeeper for the UFC's heavyweight division, to whereas if they let Schaub come back he could become a serious contender. I think that was his first loss in his MMA career, that lost might motivate this already highly skilled fighter to elavate to another lever and become a real contender.
