The Truth Is No Longer Awesome

Dark Match Jobber
So on Monday Night Raw we witnessed some tension between Miz and R-Truth eventually leading to Miz turning on truth and delivering a Skull Crushing Finale to truth. This obviously is the breakup of Awesome Truth. What are your thoughts on the breakup and the impact (no pun intended) the awesome truth has made in the WWE?

They were never utilized to their full potential, though they were in the process of reaching it. It's upsetting knowing that one of the better teams the E has had in a grip is a now over.

What does this mean for Cena? He has nothing right now. Is he just going to hang around, now? Do they bury Truth now? What's Miz going to do from here? I'm uncertain, in the bad way, about the E's future. Just another unfortunate mishandling. They're very good at setting things up, it's the final execution they continue to fail at.

In all I am really interested in where Cena goes from here.

At the same time, it looks like Truth made a face turn tonight. His goofy character could go great as a face.

I cannot wait to see what they do with Cena, I mean the rock only comes Via satelite once every 2 months. So theirs no way to keep it going with him.

This is just a way to prime Miz to go against Punk. Del Rio is obviously going back need some refining before going back to the main event, and there' really no other heels for Punk to feud with. As for Truth well, more than likely he's going to be a comedy jobber. It's too bad, this duo had some potential and could've really done some things ,but alas this would've happened eventually.

I really do hope that R Truth doesn't go back to being a face. He works FAR better as a heel simply because it sparks a reaction from the crowd more. that and it had an element of old school heel, you know the ones? that could get a laugh as well as a boo.

not that this should be a surprise from someone who has been around learning the game so long.

The Miz will do fine on his own and can get into a title picture easily enough, i just sorta hoped him and truth would be the start of building the tag division.

and as for Cena... heel turn or not he has nothing till wrestlemania and i dont think they will push him at Punks title...yet. Maybe they should use him to get a heel over as a face? as lets be honest the minute someone beats cena legit, it will be taken as a big deal regardless of who likes him... maybe Ziggler fits this bill, but i would prefer him to keep working the mid card and building himself because its nowhere near stale yet and between him and cody the mid is interesting again(sorry getting off topic)

i think this fued needs to end between the 3 personally, i dont care what they do with Cena just now. But working the miz and truth fued needs to be done right... not that i know what right is myself. thoughts?

The split was obvious after last night's pay-per view. These two were buried as a team at Survivor Series, merely being fed to the wolves in a ceremonial squash match. Where else was there to go from there?

Though I completely disagreed with the way the duo was handled last night, I agreed that breaking them up tonight was necessary. The only complaint I can see from doing it so soon is that some might think it could have been dragged out, but I don't see the point in that. They haven't really been together too long, and I don't think too many people would have cared to see a drawn-out split between the two.

As it is now, Miz can break away quickly - perhaps the two have a match at TLC - and then he can go on to bigger and better things.

Cena. Why Cena?! Awesome Truth is now an afterthought. Cena made them look like chumps, but he is also one too.

I can't wait for next week because Truth is now face. If he keeps his gimmick, then I believe he will be very successful. Miz and Truth will have a match at TLC and possibly Punk and ADR, if ADR beats Punk for the Title.

I am now going to list the major faces and heels of RAW:
Faces- CM Punk, John Cena, Truth, and Triple H.
Heels- ADR, Miz, and Nash.

I believe this will be the TLC card for RAW:
-CM Punk v. Alberto Del Rio(C) for the WWE Title
-Miz v. Truth
-HHH v. Nash

What's up with the (?) for Punk and ADR? Where is John Cena? I strongly believe Cena will turn on Punk next Monday Night and cost Punk the WWE Title. Punk will then win back the WWE Title at TLC and start a feud with a HEEL John Cena.

I say this because Cena currently has no one to feud with, unless he has a short feud with Ziggler or maybe Brodus Clay. Cena will not have a match at TLC unless he turns on Punk or feuds with a midcarder.

i saw this coming i was expecting miz to beat the shit out of truth but after truth hit him and they left the ring i knew that miz hitting the skull crushing finale was on its way sense he was walking behind truth i think they will have 1 ppv match at TLC then miz will move up to the main event again to fued with cm punk over the wwe title (although im hoping miz faces punk at TLC) i think truths push is pretty much over now i just hope for the love of god....TRUTH DOESNT USE THE FRICKIN "WHATS UP?" THEME AGAIN! MY GOD THAT DROVE ME INSANE! :banghead:

agreed on the whats up point lol

punk and del rio will be the match at TLC i 500% guarantee it EDIT* to explain i dont think Punk has truly lost del rio from his coat tails yet, though i may be proved wrong before TLC i highly doubt it

let's be honest. This is more garbage writing from the WWE and further proof they don't give a damn about their product.

These are those times when you almost wish for a WCW or similar to be around where Vince actually has to try again...

If either is turning face, it would be Truth. Miz garners more heat than he does. R-Truth has done well as a comedy character who draws laughs that sometimes overrides his heel heat. Oh shit, I know what's happening. CM Punk vs. R-Truth vs.... Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz at TLC for the WWE Championship. That might be why they did it, so they could have them as singles competitors in a fatal four way. Then again, that's pretty much all of WWE's main eventers, so that wouldn't leave anyone for John Cena to face at TLC.

i was disappointed by this. i thought they still had a lot of potential as a team. and i was very interested to see them continue in a 2 on 1 feud with cena.

I think it was too soon... I liked their act together... now Truth is going to cone back as a face? He was great as a heel...

I saw a lot more opportunities for them together than seperate...

The problem is rumor has it someone involved in the main event of survivor series was also smoking legel herb with Evan Bourne and they didn't get suspended... I'm guessing Truth was the violater and that was how they wrote him off TV for a while... they just had to wait until after SS...

Sucks for the tag division... Two teams down...

So, Truth will likely be gone for atleast 30 days... I'm worried about how they bring him back, his heel character has been the best work of his career and them bring him back as a face against Miz would ruin him... They just as soon release him...

But, how do you bring him back as a heel and not address the Miz situation...

Horrible booking... Unless they just plan to release him...

I think we are going to get Truth vs Miz at TLC. ADR vs Punk will end in a DQ with Punk going through a table leading to a table match. As for Cena I say you have work a short 2-3 week program with Brodus Clay or have him cost Ziggler the title against Ryder. This can lead to a Swagger vs Ryder program and a Cena vs Ziggler program.

I'm pretty disappointed by this. I felt this happened way too soon and that WWE could've gotten more mileage out of these two by keeping them together. I really was enjoying Miz and Truth as a tag team and I thought they could've been pivotal in bringing back focus to the tag team division. I would've loved to have seen them win the tag titles. Damn shame, in my opinion.

That said, I kinda get why it happened. Besides Del Rio, I don't think there are any other heels on RAW besides Miz who can step up and believably challenge Punk for the title. I just hope this doesn't lead to a Truth face turn. I thought he drew a better reaction as a heel. Ah well, what's done is done.

They've been booked poorly for weeks now. They were no real threat. Cena said it himself tonight while burying them. So if they weren't a threat why did he need The Rock as a tag team partner? Cena beat both them up by himself on the Halloween show. Truth and Miz should have been booked as way more dominant and ruthless instead of looking weak every time they came out. So now they are broken apart. There's one less tag team. There's one less heel since it seems certain that Truth will turn face. It sucks because I thought they really worked well together but at least now they can throw Truth and Miz into more diverse storylines not having to do with Cena, Rock, or interfering in the title picture.

Why don't they have the miz and truth face each other as heels because that would be better than a face truth facing a heel miz and when its over they can both still be heels to go after cm punk

To be honest, how do we know that it was Truth that went face? People seemed to pop a bit for the SCF by Miz, so how do we know Miz isn't the face? Granted, Miz owns as a heel, but Truth hasn't been heel for even a year, so turning him face this soon seems kind of pointless. He's a good role heel, sliding in where needed, with Miz being a main eventer that was just there to give Truth the rub, I think.

Bottom line: They knew Cena was going to get a negative reaction, probably be booed out of the building (which he was) and needed someone to transfer the heat to. If they play their cards right, they could be building for a Cena heel turn, but if they do want to do it, they don't want to do it yet. I think that they want to establish Punk as a top babyface before turning Cena. This is partly why Cena didn't turn at SS. He's not going to have a match with Rock at TLC, and if he turns heel, he's got no one to feud with. It's unfortunate that they really don't mind screwing up Awesome Truth in the process, but they're handling Cena with kid gloves right now.

Of course, the obvious questions now are where Truth and Miz go from here, and where Cena goes from here. Truth and Miz likely have at least one match, but I think they really have no idea what to do with Cena right now and it's affecting the rest of the roster.

Anyone remember Rated RKO? Two heels, feuded against 2 huge faces (DX), got beaten all the time, and when hhh got hurt and they had to end the group, the 2 had a match (heel vs heel) and both went on to become bigger stars than they ever were before. I think the miz and truth will be just fine.

I'll tell you guys right now what's going to happen during next week's title match between Punk and Del Rio. Brodus Clay is going to interfere and get his big push. Clue #1 - Of all the promos Laurinitus has had with that cell phone in hand, the only person he's verbally communicated with is Brodus Clay, telling him that his debut was to be pushed back. Otherwise every communication with that phone has been via text. Clue #2 - Brodus is out to get revenge from CM Punk for that bodyguard gimmick where Punk treated him poorly.

Thoughts?

I'm kind of disappointed. I hate Miz and never will like him, and I was liking Truth's gimmick. Don't what me makes me laugh every time. But I thought they worked well together and was actually hoping to see them with the tag titles at least once, maybe it could have helped the dying division a little bit. Since Miz is no longer with Truth and will probably feud for a short time. I wish Miz would just go away now, he doesn't deserve to hold the world title. In my eyes he just looks like a midcarder for life or a tag team wrestler. Truth looks more like a maineventer than The Jiz does.

Yea, I don't know what in the hell WWE management is doing now days. First of all a crappy ending to the PPV and a weak Raw to follow. Then what do you see? Awesome truth breaking up? I know alot of people don't like them and say that theyre not even credible, but think about it, there are no other tag teams who are well established besides truth and Miz. They're both US champs before and Miz was WWE Champion. So thinking about it, this was a pretty good team. I mean breaking them up wont help miz nor truth. Miz could go into the main event picture again but Im sure WWE is pushing Ziggler next. As for truth? Hes probably going to have alot of promos only and won't ever be in the main event picture. SO I don't see why WWE even wants them to break up. I mean they could of faced Air Boom for the tag titles and become one of the best heel Tag team champions and be a threat to all WWE stars. I mean isn't that what WWE set the team out to be anyways? Who were the ones attacking refs and stars with crobars? Who were the ones that caused a walk out? Who were the ones that were too strong for cena that cena need the rocks help? Well I guess WWE just dropped the ball and stuck their heads up their asses again. EPIC FAIL.

I think it would be better if they had the Miz and Truth have temporary make up angle, Paper over the cracks. Keep it going 2 on 1 on cena until TLC but put a number 1 contender ladder match on it. This obviously would turn out triple threat.

Miz the main heel, Cena stays face for now, But truth could up until then have issues about trust with his inner psycho self just to test out whether heel or face would be better.

Truth wins (pushing him), Cena then throws a fanny attack and costs punk the title against ADR turning heel.

punk and cena then fued coz they both need to be free for mania as austin wants punk at mania. Can do the Beer against straight edge angle.

The miz wins the rumble and gets his title shot at mania.

I just feel Truth deserves and needs that main event push and he could be a very big face. Like when the rock left NOD
