The truth about John Cena....

The Cena that got over is way different than the nowadays Cena. And although is really easy to hate him now you have to take a step back and realize how much he has changed in the transition towards the main event. His promos, for example, were pretty awesome and improvised to some extent, and the people loved that because the guy is indeed a funny bastard, I mean, I'm a freaking 'Five questions' mark and I dont even like Cena lol. His style in the ring has been pretty toned down as well, he has been forced to work on a more basic move-list that goes pretty much like...

Brawl - Brawl - Get owned - Come back with a (and i mean ONE) driver move - Get owned again - Come back with the clothesline/Knuckle Shuffle/STF/FU

And they work the ending from there. Back in the day Cena would replace the 'brawl' part with some very nice technical moves that actually made him look legit. Now he is like a hardcore rock band that's been told to play pop-punk.

i agree, nobody realizes that they only do the moves that vince tells them to do, and the thing about edge yes he can do a lot of moves on the rope and in the air but he has no strength and i think thats boring, edge looks like a walking toothpick out there.

Edge has a hard time of keeping weight on i remember him mentioning it in a interview right after he came back from his neck surgery, he had allot more muscle when he first came back.

What do you mean he has no strength?? Wrestling isn't a body building contest.

Obviously Wrestling isn't a Body Building contest............. But i think some people will agree tha WWE was founded on it..... If you're 6 ft 5 250 lbs of pure fuckin muscle you'll get a push like there's no tomorow...... If you're a Vanilla Midget..... Off you go to Smackdown an Job there.....

Maybe so, but I'm just trying to say is you can be great wrestler and not have the biggest muscles in the world.

Like Jewlz said, Edge had trouble putting on weight after his neck injury.

you got to have strength too and edge dont have it. you all seen what cena can do, he used to do a lot of moves and so you know he can do moves and strength, you cant say the same for edge. i think a wrestler should have both, strength and good moves.

Strength doesn't really play a big part, unless you're like Lesnar and have a gimmick like that. Edge is a great wrestler, and there have been others with not a lot of muscle but, still can wrestle great. Like I said, it's harder to put on weight and muscle after you've broken your neck.

The soldier gimmick is cause he plays a marine in his new movie but it just doesn't fit. like when Kanes movie came out they incorperated it into his character.

Uh oh i see a fight brewingg.. haha

If Cena didnt have any fans, they're would be no Cena merchandise, leading to plainly no Cena.. so the mans gotta be doing something right (:

John Cena has fans because he is cute, not because of his wrestling ability. I would know, I used to love Cena until I realized I only liked him because he was hot.

I know, he is doing something right, i think he is the most entertaining wrestler in the wwe right now, and if you all notice he is getting more cheers than boos lately.

I agree with that and thats how wrestlers should be potrayed in the business...... These days it's jus' Image over Talent.... Not only in Wrestling but in tha Movies an Music Industry as well..... They jus' see it as good business an easyer way of making money..... Wait till John Cena loses popularity and he doesnt sell as much merchandice as he does now.... I bet he won't be Flagship of tha Roster then when a new money maker comes into play..

Exactly. John Cena dose not entertain me, he annoys me by running around the ring like a "******ed gorilla" as Edge says.

you say edge dosent have enough muscle....hell look at some of the greatest of all time......HBK for example.........Edge may not have all the big mucles but it allows him to move around the ring n mat wrestle.......chris benio isnt the biggest guy nor was Eddie (R.I.P)......Cena is a damn body builder...he has his BA in body building.......untilk cena starts doing some mat wreslting he might as well forget about the REAL wrestling fans backing his gorila ass!

Looks are a big part of 'Wrestling' these days.. you dont see ugly women wrestling, why? because they dont bring in the cash. Now look at Maria [just using her as an example], shes not to great in the ring but definitly has the looks going for her.. you dont see as much heat about her as you do Cena? You all tend to say Cena is just like Maria but in man-form.

That's what I mean!! People can be hypocrites when they say Cena is horrible, but the diva search is okay. Women like Maria is why Victoria is just a jobber.

maria isnt running around with a tiel thats means everything in the wrestling buiz and turning it inot a bling bling peice of shit eitehr.........if we go off what you are saying then we ned to have cena revert to doing the kiss cam and starting at walls....then he would be ok....total time on tv.....less than 4 min...he could also go give ric flair a kiss like maria did!

Hey, Maria is Punk's gf, that makes her instantly cool.

awee Maria & CM Punk are dating? or did i miss something? && Cena doesnt tell the WWE writers what to do.. they give it to him. So dont go blame him for everything.

Hey guys, noticed a little negativity in this thread. I can be branded a newbie but let's not argue and fight. People are entitled to there opinion and there opinion should be valued. Wether you agree with it, disagree with it. I love coming on to these forums, sometimes you get a really good laugh as well as learning stuff along the way.

I won't lie, I will be up front and honest. I have tickets for Survivor Series tour in November. Breahead, Glasgow for RAW. If John Cena wasn't there, I would be absolutely devistated. I am a big fan but it starts before WWE.

As I was reading threw a guy kind of stole my thunder but he mentioned it. The greatest training ring in the world (in my opinion). Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). Just you won't appreciate John Cena for a wrestler until you view him on this. In WWE he had a great start but it was WWE's bait. Give the fans a taster and if they like what they see, we can hook them. I remember his match against Kurt Angle when Cena was of smaller mass, seemed more athletic and agile. He put up one hell of a great match with one hell of a great legend. I have always been a fan of OVW, ever since I was young.I knew all about Ermando Alejandro Estrada before WWE and you knew instantly he would be a hit and I was the same with Carlito. I remember his OVW debut when he started talking foreign. Anyway, I am drifting. Mr Cena! Yeah there are loads of video streaming web sites out there and download places. Streaming sites like www.youtube.com and www.vidilife.com and your usual download places, Kazaa, Lime Wire, Bit Comet etc. Type in John "The Prototype" Cena and you should get something. Just he was absolutely emence. You could really see his talent. He was heel and competing against a guy called Smelly (not the greatest character name). He was fantastic. There was also a documentary done about John Cena by the discovery channel which takes you threw his trials, wrestling school, OVW up until at the time "WWF" offered him a contract. Its really good.

Guys I understand I have rambled here and wasting a good couple of minutes of your guys life but if you check it out. I guarendamnte you will see the true 'wrestling' John Cena. In my personal opinion if he was allowed to wrestle like that in WWE, he would would be more than mid-card with his talent.

Again thats for you guys to judge!

Hey, you make a great point, the start of Cena is really 'mark out' worthy, but right now it's just blantantly obvious why some fans might've turned on him, the way he is been booked and the way his character is handled just craps on that awesome superstar prospect that he was in the beginning. And OVW is alright, is better than DSW though.

dont you agree that he needs to head back over to SD turn heel n fued with chris benio or someone............

Yeah its just something you come to expect of WWE. I made a point not that long ago about two of the best wrestlers (currently on the roster) I have ever seen. It surprises most when I tell them. They are Eugene and Simon Dean. Eugene is an absolute technical genuis. He has shades of Bret "The Hitman" Hart in him. Eugene has the potential to be great on the wrestling terms but again, would Eugene sell you a couple of millions of dollars worth of T-shirts. I find it highly unlikely. I would love to see him turn heel and lose the child gimmick. I love to laugh at his stunners and rock bottoms. They are great entertainment and its the whole entetainment thing I love personally about Raw but WWE has to realise wrestling is also entertainment. Perfect example last night was Johnny Nitro vs. Jeff Hardy. Wasn't a classic but was entertaining. Nitro's standing shooting star press type manouver, personally I found impressive.
Also Simon Dean. Talent hiding behind a "Dean Machine". He is very impressive again check out some old OVW stuff.

Just John Cena could have been the perfect opportunity for a guy like Triple H or something to pass the torch. (Personally Randy Orton seems the most likely now!) Cena has natural charisma which is a difficult thing because theres a lot of wrestlers that really have to work at that when they first arrive but he had that. He also had the talent. WWE could have had Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock rolled into one but like many things and many peoples careers. They put a block in the road and caused a diversion!

Here is what i think needs to happen for the world to really see how shity cena is. He needs to be put in a damn match with another very shitty wrestler....say goldberg or the great khali....maybe scott stiner....then everyone even vince would have to see that he totally sucks ass....every match he has thats a main event it witha very good wrestler and they have to carry the damn match what do you guys think?

see, basically cena's fan base is the children and the girls so it may sound like he has a huge fan base when he comes out, but that's just because children and girls are too loud.
