Edge tormented an abducted Paul Bearer
With one diabolical act after another toward a helpless Paul Bearer, Edge clearly got inside the head of World Heavyweight Champion Kane. Has The Ultimate Opportunist already laid the foundation for a victory at Survivor Series?

Team Rey Mysterio def. Team Alberto Del Rio in a 10-Man Survivor Series Showdown Battle Royal
An action-packed night culminated in all of the members of Team Mysterio tangling with their foes on Team Del Rio. At the close of the conflict, Team Del Rio’s Jack Swagger found himself battling big odds against Big Show and Rey Mysterio. After Mysterio blasted The All-American American with a 619, Big Show pushed Swagger over the top rope for the victory. Is the win a prelude to what will happen at Survivor Series?

Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio Survivor Series Showdown Match ended in a No Contest
After their respective team members battled it out at the start of the night in a series of Showdown Matches, it was time for team Captains Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio to tangle. But before a winner could be determined, the match ended when Team Del Rio charged the ring and assaulted Mysterio. Just seconds later, Team Mysterio came to its captain’s aid and fended off the assailants. Putting a brief stop to the chaos, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long declared the action should continue in an official 10-Man Survivor Series Showdown Battle Royal.

Big Show def. Tyler Reks in a Survivor Series Showdown Match
Although Tyler Reks has proven to be a formidable force in recent weeks, he could not overcome The World’s Largest Athlete Big Show. With a massive chokeslam, Big Show chalked up another win for Team Mysterio.

Self-professed "Co-Divas Champions" Michelle McCool & Layla def. Kelly Kelly & Natalya
With both members of Team Lay-Cool in the ring, they capitalized on the advantage and double-kicked Natalya to the canvas. Layla quickly seized the moment and grabbed the pinfall. At Survivor Series, can Natalya find a way to overcome the odds when she faces the duo in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match?

"Dashing" Cody Rhodes def. Kofi Kingston in a Survivor Series Showdown Match
Even though Kofi Kingston came at “Dashing” Cody Rhodes with a high-powered offense, it was not enough to overcome Rhodes, who dropped Kingston with a jarring Cross Rhodes.

Kaval def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in a Non-Title Match
After a series of counter maneuvers, Kaval used an old-school bridge to pin Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler to get the biggest victory of his career. After his first win on SmackDown, Kaval reminded Ziggler and the WWE Universe that as the WWE NXT season two winner, he is due a championship match – and he wants it at Survivor Series against Ziggler.

Jack Swagger def. Chris Masters in a Survivor Series Showdown Match
Despite an impressive effort by Chris Masters, Jack Swagger found a way out of the Master Lock and went on to make Masters submit to his own signature submission move, the ankle lock.

MVP def. Drew McIntyre in a Survivor Series Showdown Match
Scoring first for Team Mysterio was MVP who chalked up a victory over Drew McIntyre with a well-placed kick to the head. The charged up Ballin' Superstar will certainly be an asset for his team come Sunday.

Alberto Del Rio clashed with MVP
At the start of the night, Survivor Series Team Captain Alberto Del Rio mixed words with MVP, challenging his claims of greatness. Despite MVP’s desire to tangle with Del Rio, the "Essence of Excellence" declared MVP would face Drew McIntyre.

Shoulder Blocked

Edge threw Kane for a loop before the match even began, emerging with an empty wheelchair – the very instrument of intimidation that had held Paul Bearer just two days earlier on SmackDown. Once the intense battle commenced, the ruthlessness that ensued became as much about the fate of Kane’s father as that of the coveted title. Absolute brutality dominated every moment, making it impossible for the WWE Universe to predict a clear winner. Kane countered the Spear. Edge kicked out after the chokeslam. Then, in the midst of endless turmoil, The Rated-R Superstar dug deep, finally hitting the Spear and falling onto Kane for the pin attempt. But, as he did, he did not realize that his shoulders were also on the canvas. As a result, the referee pinned both Superstars and declared the match a draw. The battle continued after the match, when an enraged Edge dropped Kane into the vacant wheelchair and hurled him through the ringside barricade.

Biggest Little Victory

The key to victory in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match is teamwork and that’s exactly what Rey Mysterio’s crew relied on tonight in their win over the underhanded Alberto Del Rio and his sleazy SmackDown squad. Proving that he truly is The Ultimate Underdog, Mysterio led his team to triumph by pinning Jack Swagger before helping Big Show lay waste to Drew McIntyre. The failure of Team Del Rio to find success tonight can be pinned directly on their cowardly captain. Perhaps the most selfish Superstar on the WWE roster, Del Rio took himself out of the heated bout after getting plastered by The World’s Largest Athlete’s Knockout Punch, leaving “Dashing” Cody Rhodes, Tyler Reks, Swagger and McIntyre to fend for themselves. The act was gutless, but shouldn’t have surprised anyone. After all, the arrogant aristocrat abandoned Team SmackDown in their match against Team Raw at WWE Bragging Rights and ran from a showdown with The Nexus two weeks ago on SmackDown. Unlike his disgraceful rival, Mysterio was the perfect leader for his team of Big Show, Kofi Kingston, MVP and Chris Masters. Although their side suffered the first eliminations when The Ballin’ Superstar and The Masterpiece went down, they kept their focus and rallied back by dispensing of Del Rio, Rhodes and Reks. After Swagger managed to stop Kingston with the ankle lock, Mysterio and Show secured the win by taking out The All-American American and the Scottish Superstar in the blink of an eye.

Warrior Falters

Despite a tremendous effort, a determined Kaval was unable to win the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series, falling to a sly, but bloodied and battered Dolph Ziggler. With his powerful girlfriend, SmackDown Official Consultant Vickie Guerrero, cheering him on at ringside, the bleach blond champion quickly turned the match in his favor when it mattered most. Ziggler secured the victory by rolling up an aggressive Kaval, pinning him for the three-count while holding his tights.

Not So Flawless After All

During a match that saw action spill over to the outside and into the front rows of the American Airlines Arena, Lay-Cool seemed to be on their way to retaining. But a miscue from Michelle McCool and Natalya had McCool right where she wanted her, applying the patented Hart-family Sharpshooter for the win. As Natalya basked in the glory of her first championship, Team Flawless was enraged at their loss, attacking the new champion from behind to the crowd’s chants toward McCool “You tapped out!” The sore losers continued to strike as familiar music struck and Beth Phoenix ran to the ring, clearing house of WWE’s Mean Girls and hoisting Natalya on her shoulders, telling the WWE Universe she is back, and business is about to pick up.

I was at the taping on Tuesday. It was a very good show. Not as good as RAW, but a good solid wrestling show nontheless.

yeah...although I am intrigued by the layout of SD now that The Glamazon is back. :) FINALLY!!! The Glamazon has come back to Friday nights!!! LOL

So Kane just classified himself as a human being? Not the devil's favorite demon? Why did he take out undertaker once again...because he humanized himself...just like kane is doing.

I guess with this mention of Buffalo wings and dodgeball, I shouldn't be surprised if I see Kane at my local Buffalo Wild Wings sometime...LOL. I'm sure it will be a bitch if he walks in on 10 cent Tuesdays...hehe :p
