I cant see Edge becoming the US champ, it would make no sense.
Didn't really make sense for JBL to win it either but it still happened. WWE and making sense don't go together unfortunately.
The name change? Vince McMahon apparently turned to creative and said 'The Major Brothers aren't brothers? Why are we saying they are?' having apparently totally forgotten that Edge and Christian posed as brothers for almost ten years wen they aren't related at all. Is Kane the Undertaker's half brother and Paul Bearer his father? Didn't see Kane mourning his 'father' being buried in cement ever did we? The name change was a Vinnie Mac decision and based on the past, not a bright one.
The Edgeheads are jus as bad as Duece and Domino in my opinion. They have no tag chemistry, haven't heard a single promo which doesn't help and yeah which is which? (Oh, you can tell them apart from Edge because Edge tends to change his every now and again)
Helms joining? He's gotta make it back in the ring first and by the time he does they probably won't b the Edgeheads anymore.
The thing with stables IMO is that they need to have members with their own personalities having been defined already. The Nation for example had Farooq, The Rock, D'lo and Mark Henry and the Godfather, all gimmicks that had come together to join Farooq and the Nation.
Other examples?
The Hart foundation had BOTH Hart brothers, plus Jimmy Neidhart, Bret's long time tag partner, The Bulldog and later on Brian Pilman.
DX had HHH, HBK and Chyna, a former world champ, a guy well on his way to becoming champ and a woman who could cream most guys in a fight. The new DX had a returning X-pac, and added the New Age Outlaws, an established tag team later on.
The Corporation had the Rock, Ken Shamrock the Ultimate Fight guy and KOTR, the Big Bossman who was always up Vince's ass, Kane the younger, bigger version of the Undertaker and Test straggled along too.
The Ministry didn't work quite a well. Undertaker was pretty much the only big name. The Acolytes were there but hadn't really achieved anything. Mideon having split from the Godwins was a nobody, Viscera had been KOTR but never got anything out of it, and they also incorperated ANOTHER STABLE into the ranks with the Brood. From this Taker had a bunch of dumb muscle to help him war with Vinces Corperation when he, Shane and Vince were in cahoots the whole time anyway. And then the corperation broke up and the big names from that joined the Ministry and had HHH and Chyna too and it worked better.
Evolution had HHH the multiple time champ. Ric Flair, legend, dirtiest player in the game. Orton who'd already established himself as a prick and Batista was the odd one out, especially when he was on the shelf for months, came back, took out Goldberg and the fans thought, ok Batista's a big time player too.
JBL's cabinet? The Bashams, a tag team that just appeared, won the tag belts, lost them and weren't doing anything (just like D&D r doing now) and Orlando Jordan and tbh who cared?
Edge and the Edgeheads? Multiple time champ, could be described as a veteran + a rookie tag team. Until they become less grenn, this stable will suck more dick than it does now IMO
