The [Official] South Park Thread

Last night's episode was awesome! The Inception jokes were hilarious, as was the child version of Mackey. I was thinking to myself "hey, this is kind of like Inception" then in comes the parody of DiCaprio's character. Classic. This is one of the best episodes I have seen in a LONG time. I give it an A- because it did so many things at once such as developing Stan's character a little further, the Inception jokes, and the inclusion of another certain famous character. If only there were more South Park episodes as great as this one.

Last week's episode was awesome. Any superfriends parody will always be great in my book. I got a little upset that there was a cliffhanger in the ending, but I am looking forward to see what happens tonight. I bet it will be epic. Maybe we will find out who Mysterion truly is (that other episode doesn't count). I give last week's episode an A- because they overdid the "I'm sorry" thing, and some of those were a little disturbing. Hilarious otherwise and I can't wait for tonight's show.

The episode last night was amazing, hilarious, and just plain awesome. The scenes with Cartman and Cthulhu were very strange making me laugh. One of them where they were flying reminded me of that scene in The Never Ending Story where Atreyu is riding Falkor.... I suppose that's what it was making fun of. By far the best of all though was the development of Mysterion's character because it cleared up nearly 14 years worth of plot holes.

Mysterion is actually Kenny, who revealed that he has a super power: HE CAN'T DIE.

My jaw litterally DROPPED. This was easily one of the biggest moments in the history of South Park.

Great episode last night. I laughed out loud a few times. The LeBron James commercial parody was possibly the greatest thing of the season thus far. Just awesome. This is shaping up to be one of the better trilogies they've done, looking forward to next week.

"The're my technicians."

Major improvement this week compared to last week’s episode. Last week, I disliked the fact that they had made Mysterion into just another Cartman lacky. They didn’t really project the whole, “Mysterion is much superior than the Coon” feeling that they portrayed in last season’s episode.

Though in the end, things turned out rather nice in this week’s episode. I love the intro, where it show Mysterion talking about what had happened in the previous episode and explaining how it is up to him to save the world; The whole comic book style was also a great addition to this. This episode delivered a good number of laugh out loud moments including the Lebron James parady and the Cthulu with Cartman moment. By the way, I love how they made Cartman into the manipulative bastard he is.

But I believe the best part of this episode was the revealing of Mysterion’s identity---which by now we should all know was Kenny. It just literally came out of fricken no where! Mysterion: “Pull the trigger, you pussy.” Kyle: “Dude, Kenny, chill.” When I saw this, I literally just dropped my jaw and burst out laughing---I laughed so hard for a good two minutes before I could calm myself down to rewind it through DVR to hear the same segment three times over; and even still, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. Leave it to South Park to be able to create such a lack-luster “revealing moment”, and still pull it off with amazing results. Only they are capable of doing such a thing.

Also, the addition of revealing the truth behind Kenny’s revivals was nice to see. Finally the question that we all had about Kenny since the show began has been answered.

Overall, best episode in the second half of the season by far. The previous episodes were alright, but this one tops them easily. For some reason, I get the feeling that the “Coon Saga” will lead all the way ‘til the season finale. I wouldn’t doubt it if it goes that far. Trey and Matt still have much to work with and they could easily drag this story out for the last two scheduled episodes for this year. Though then again, that might be pushing it a bit; a trilogy is good enough.

Who knows…one thing’s for sure, I can’t wait ‘til next week’s episode.

Last week's episode was pretty great. Cartman riding Ktulu singing songs of joy. Kenny as Mysterion was the best thing about the show. I guess we all had a hunch that it was Kenny, but it was really funny to see his identity revealed. I guess I would be pissed off too if I died on a daily basis only to come back to earth with my friends and family not noticing anything. The Lebron James commercial parody and making fun of BP and Tony Hayward even more were great. Can't wait till next week.

Absolutely loved this week’s episode. Hell, I'll even go as far as to say it was just as good, if not better than last week's episode. I applaud Trey and Matt for doing a wonderful job of making such a fantastic finish to the trilogy.

I loved the intro where they showed Mint Berry Crunch summarizing the previous episode through his comic book version. This episode shifts focus from the previous two; rather than focusing on ridiculing the BP oil spill, it concentrates more on the *special* powers that Kenny has and how he achieved them. To the same time, it is proven that Cartman always has and always will be the greatest manipulative bastard in the entire planet. His manipulation of the great Cthulu was hysterical. His “cute kitten” act was unbelievably halerious. I also enjoyed the way they showed Cartman trying to kill off the hippies at their concert and how he ends up killing Justin Bieber.

The best part of this episode, however, is the climax to the Cthulu battle. It was originally thought that Mysterion (Kenny) would be the one to defeat the great Cthulu after the shocking revealing that Kenny is in fact immortal and can never die. Unfortunately, much to my---and everyone else’s surprise---the real hero of the story was in fact, Mint Berry Crunch, a guy that was constantly ridiculed for not pretending to have a good special power. Mint Berry Crunch---as explained by the guy from the shiny white vortex portal---is from a different planet and he was sent to Earth to rid the world of evil. The funny twist in this was that it looked as if this “spirit” was talking to Kenny, but instead was actually talking to Mint Berry Crunch. When I saw this, I literally exploded in laughter thinking to myself: “Only South Park can pull off such a thing with great reception and results.”

In the end, Mint Berry Crunch returns to his planet and no one gives a shit about Kenny as no one is aware of his special powers. Kenny makes a remark on this and ultimately kills himself. The last scene is shown where Kenny’s mom gives birth to Kenny again and puts him in his bed. After doing so, she claims how her and her husband should have never gone to “that stupid cult meeting.” Thus, ending the episode.

Overall, I give this episode a solid A-. It was very well thought out; delivered a good number of laugh out loud moments; and had the perfect ending to this South Park trilogy. Over the past number of years, South Park has developed a great style of ending their episodes, and I believe this should be considered one of their best endings ever. Can't wait to see what they do for next week's episode.

I loved last night's episode...up until the ending. We go through all of this, 3 episodes in this giant storyarch...and they end it with fuckin' Mintberry Crunch saving the day? Like, I get it, it's unexpected and slightly amusing, but what the fuck I was hoping maybe just maybe we might actually get some kind of answer to Kenny's invincibility. Silly me for thinking that. Great episode otherwise, I get the feeling the scene where Cthulu kills Justin Beiber has already become a meme somewhere. Whole three-parter was excellent, but man that ending was so fucking anti-climactic and lazy, seriously pissed me off.

Otherwise, awesome stuff. Pretty good half-season so far.

I was let down by the ending too. Three great episodes with an anti climatic ending in the last minute of the show. I thought the whole Coon and Friends could have lasted for at least another few episodes. The highlight of the show was Justin Bieber and his fans being decapitated. Kenny has had the best role of anyone this season. I would have loved to seen an epic battle between Mysterion and Coon. Even if it was a slap fight like Cartman vs. Kyle was in the Cartoon wars episode.

It was a fun ride and it sucks to see the saga come to an end. I don't know how the writers are going to top this next week.

I loved the ending. May have been the best part. I don't really care if the only reason they did it is because they probably couldn't think of anything else, it still amused me greatly. Shablagoo, my friends. Shablagoo.

Great three parter all around. Definitely much better than Imaginationland, which was pretty weak for the most part. Great season so far, as usual.

I liked this trilogy. The swerve at the end with MintBerry Crunch being the chosen one with the super powers was funny stuff. That makes sense when you think about it because he was just kind of there pointlessly doing nothing before, making you think why is this guy THERE? Now we have our answer. Making him be the brother of the goth girl was a good add too, a reason to bring MintBerry Crunch back for more weird episodes in the future. Still not as good as the revelation of Kenny being Mysterion though. In some ways it was even better than Imaginationland, which I also liked.

I was disappointed with last night's episode. It's like they tried to be so stupid that people would find it funny.... That has worked in previous episodes before but I just couldn't get into this one. Stan's dad getting all excited about the cooking shows was really weird. However I did like having him become the new chef and trying to make a cooking show at the school, only to get interrupted by all the other famous tv chefs. The best part was Cartman's impression of Ramsay because it was so funny that Stan's dad fell for it even though it was very obvious that it was Cartman. Not that great of an episode, but it had some funny moments.

The most recent episode of South park was okay. Watching Randy become obsessed with cooking was kind of funny. Cartman as Chef Ramsay was probably the funniest part of the episode, but I wished we could've seen more of it. The shake weight stuff didn't do it for me. I really tried to get into it, but after a while, It just became boring, because they kept doing the same routine over and over again. I'm still enjoying this season, but this episode was one of the weaker ones so far.

I liked it better than Mitch and Dagger did. I was losing it during the phone call and the initial joke of the shake weight, but I agree it got a little boring by the end. I really liked this episode though. Something that helped a lot was that the chef that hosted the big cook off at the end (he hosts Good Eats and I can't think of his name) was at the book store I work at a few weeks ago and people really do get as into this stuff as Randy did as the place was PACKED. I really liked this one though and it's a shame that they're off until March as I'm going to miss them.

The show wasn't as great as the trilogy, but I found it pretty funny. I have been waiting for someone to do a satire on the the ridiculous shake weight. There are even commercials for shake weights for men. There are lots of people obsessed with the cooking channel, so it was funny to see Randy obsessed with it. This has been a really fun season thus far. It sucks we have to wait a few months for new episodes, but the old ones are funny keep sakes.

Agreed- the Shake Weight episode was awesome, and I felt the funniest one of the season. Loved how she had to put her finger in the back of it. I wasn't aware that it was the last new episode for awhile, that kind of sucks.

Also, I may be in the minority with this thought, but I would be for them to drop trilogies and just do 3 completely different episodes. I liked the BP trilogy this season, but I'd much rather have 3 totally different episodes...I feel like the fans get newer and fresher content.

I'm in agreement with Mitch and Dagger on this one. This episode really wasn't that great.

To be honest, I found this episode to be boring for the most part. I mean, sure it was jam packed with a great number of jokes and gags; but if you think about it, most of the jokes that were shown were basically all the same one meaning it got to be too repetative and ultimately to the point where it wasn't funny anymore.

For example, the segments when making a satire on the shake weight crap---they were all basically the same joke over and over and over again. Stan's mom is seen doing something. The weight shake thing is nearby. It says, "It's time to work out." Stan's mom walks up to the shake weight and starts shaking it. In response, the shit starts saying, "Come one. Oh yeah. Faster. Faster. Harder. You can do it. Come one. Switch hands. Come on. You can do it." While this was funny the first one or two times, it really started to get rather unfunny the more this gag was played out. It even got to the point where I would just want to skp the segment because of unfunny it was.

As for Randy being obsessed with cooking... well it was good, but not that great. I mean, I get that it was supposed to be a paraody on what some people in the world tend to be like whenever they see a cooking channel or some famous chef cooking, but I just found it a bit too boring. The only real funny to this was when he starts *********ing in the opening segment of the show. Beyond that, I found it to be pretty *meh*. Then again, I find a good number of South Park episodes that are based on Stan's dad to be pretty *meh*.

Overall, I must admit that I am fairly dissapointed with South Park's season finale. You would think that after coming out of what could possibly be considered one of their best stories ever (The Superhero saga), they would make a fantastic season finale to end this great season...But no, that didn't happen.

Nevertheless, South Park has and always will be one of my all time favorite shows and I will continue to support it 'til the very end. I am sadened that we have to wait until March for the next episode because quite frankly, that is just too long of a wait. Oh well, nothing we can do about it...

I figured I'd go ahead and bump this old thread seeing as the new season of South Park starts up this Wednesday. There hasn't really been any insight into what the premier episode will be about, but the season premiers are usually pretty good since they have a lot of time to think about them.

I actually own every season of South Park on DVD and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with the news that the 14th Season DVD set will feature episode 201 in the same form that it aired on Comedy Central, meaning it will still be all edited to shit. What a fucking crock. The best part about owning the DVDs are the uncensored episodes and the commentary, but they're going to go with that still? After all of this time? Fuck, man. I guess the commentary will still be interesting, if they even get to do that this season.

At any rate, what are you looking forward to seeing parodied on South Park this season? I have to assume we'll get to see Charlie Sheen get blasted, so that should be fun.

Can't fucking wait man. South Park is my second favorite show of all time behind Scrubs. I have seen every single episode multiple times over and I still find myself laughing at most episodes. I am going into this season with extremely high standards, and I have a great feeling that I will not be disappointed. I agree with you that Sheen will be parodied. I can also see another Jersey Shore type episode, or maybe just The Situation considering his Roast fail. Either way I am looking forward to this season more than ever.

This annoys me but doesn't surprise me whatsoever. The thing is, every single South Park season I own on DVD still bleeps out some of the swearing. To me, that is fucking bullshit and I don't expect to be treated like a God-damn child when I spend money on a show that I have basically seen before on Comedy Central and elsewhere.

That being said, I am really looking forward to seeing the new season and possibly the last season of one of the best TV shows of this generation. I had forgotten all about the last episode of the last season and had to watch it a couple of weeks ago. Still, it showed me that South Park is still able to make me laugh and that gets me all excite about what we can expect from the new one. I think you have it Nate, Charlie Sheen is going to be absolutely fucked in this season and I cannot wait to see that happen.

Another thing that I hope they address is Libya and Egypt. For me, South Park is always funny when it is poking fun at things that should be serious in everyone's eyes. I honestly hope that some of these things are going to get the treatment and I assume they will.

Here's hoping for a great last season.

What a fucking great episode that last one was. Holy shit, I had to watch it twice to fully understand what I had watched. Just every part of the episode was full of laughs. The poor lady all the way on the end of the centipede was overlooked slightly as she never really had any lines while she had to eat shit all day. That must have sucked. The bits with Cartman were fucking funny as well. Can't wait for next Wednesday.

While I did enjoy the show, I don't think it was quite as good as some are saying it was. I loved the whole Cartman side story though and cracked up every time he went into a spiel about how he likes to be kissed or taken to dinner before he's fucked. The Human Centipede thing was kind of bizarre, and definitely dark. Funny, but I wasn't laughing hysterically or anything. I did love the Apple store though and the council of Geniuses, that was pretty ace.

Hopefully this isn't the peak of the season's writing already.

I wasn't too crazy about last night's episode. The Humancenatipad stuff was really, really gross, but I did laugh it a couple of times. The stuff with Cartman and his mom was kind of weird for me. Cartman always throws these temper tantrums where he acts like a whiny little bitch, and his Mom usually caves in to his demands. As far as the Cartman storyline goes, the ending to last night's episode was kind of weird, because I felt like the storyline didn't go anywhere. Last night's episode had it's moments, but I didn't think it was that great.

It was a weird episode to come back with. I'm sure more people would have enjoyed it if they watched the ridiculous Human Centipede movie. Cartman has an Ipad that shits in Kyle's mouth. How great is that? When Cartman brought a fake Ipad to school, I thought the episode would be about the whole birther fiasco. It was funny for me because the movie had an angry Japanese man just like the episode. I've been wondering if anyone would comment on the silly User Terms and Agreements for updates online and on PSN.

I thought it was a brilliant episode yesterday.

The iPad/Human Centipede thing was definitely an odd choice to bring back the series but I think it made sense. Not only did it poke fun at Apple, it also poked fun at one of the worst concepts for a movie in the history of film. I thought that it was a really fun plot that added some familiarity to the episode. Everyone seems to be talking about iPads these days and it was really funny to see South Park tear the ass right out of it.

The secondary plotline was amazing and was the highlight of the episode. I enjoyed how everything seemed to tie in together. I loved the Cartman bit at the beginning when he was trying to defend his iPad, that was the highlight of the episode if you are not counting the many occurrences of Cartman “Getting Fucked” by numerous different people. The part in Best Buy was ridiculously good and I had to watch it through my fingers. Honestly, I thought that it needed the Cartman plot to make this episode work and it was made all the better because of it. Cartman was at his absolute best and it was a joy to see it back on our screens with Cartman written perfectly.

Oh! And I am never updating iTunes ever again.
