The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

I love Nak. But Jesus Christ, if Cena or Reigns did what Shinsuke did on NXT this week, the internet would have a meltdown.

Send them to? I don't know which brand needs them more.

SD have had to use the Spirit Squad and the Headbangers in recent months. It's not even a contest.

Plus, I think Raw is the obvious choice for the Authors of Pain, who'll likely be the next major tag team call up after the top guys. So give SD the Revival.

If Reigns did something like that, I might be tempted to actually cheer for him. I feel like Cena might've actually done something like that years ago.

On the day The Revival leave NXT, and quickly become no-one of note, I'll do a little cry, partially on behalf of my thrice-dead friend Coco.

Revival are so ridiculously old school that I can't imagine the WWE brass not loving them.

DIY look great losing so i worry about them.

Ellering's management is probably doing a lot of favours for the authors.

ALSO, Authors to win am i right? WWE announced that Ellering is gonna be suspended in a shark tank so will that affect things? The Authors have beaten TM61 before but they seem to be high on TM61.

My truly biggest fear is for No Way Jose who is quite talented but that gimmick has about as many legs as a slug.

If No Way Jose remains as such and is called up to main roster, there lies a Tyler Breeze V2.0. He should undergo a complete gimmick change.

It’s the go home show for Takeover: Toronto and that means we get the big final push tonight. Normally that means good thing from NXT as they have this down to a science but there’s a first time for everything. The other interesting note is something called the Return, which has been hyped up in recent weeks. Let’s get to it.

Top guys... out.

If I had any confidence in the WWE and particularly RAW making something of the Revival, they are the perfect team and gimmick to dethrone the New Day.

There would be some nice symmetry too given the similarity between them and the Brainbusters, who ended Demolition's record reign.

So takeover.

What an awesome show. The crowd was hot but not overbearing, every match exceeded expectations, besides maybe the Dusty Classic final which was fine but nothing special.

DIY vs. Revival was one of the best tag team matches I've ever seen, easily a MotY contender in any promotion.

Dillinger vs. Roode was great, Mickie put on a surprisingly great performance with Asuka and Joe/Nak was intense and heated, as expected. I liked Joe going over, really reinforces his "I do exactly what I say I'm gonna do" heel persona.

Here's to another great Takeover that the main roster show probably won't come close to touching.

Would have liked to have seen Sanity appear in some form.

Also WWE could do a lot worse than using Mickie James permanently either for RAW, Smackdown or NXT. She got herself into tremendous shape, especially in the wake of being hit by that train.

What train?

Roode is becoming something special.

Joe winning gives me hope for Lesnar VS Joe at Mania. But not this year. They really need to build Joe on the main roster in 2017 and then setup Brock VS Joe for Mania 34.

Worth the wait if done right.

Also, I need to rewatch the Tag Team Titles match.

This is a special episode as we’re past Takeover: Toronto and since there hasn’t been time for a full taping, this show was filmed before Saturday’s show, meaning this is again in a huge arena. Things changed a lot in Toronto as two titles changed hands, including the NXT Title. Let’s get to it.

Thank You NXT

What's with Eric Young's voice? Sounds like a gerbil is gnawing on his vocal chords when he speaks. Is that normal or a gimmick?

Now this should be interesting as this show was taped on the same night as last week’s Smackdown, meaning they’re in a big arena instead of the tiny Full Sail. I’m always curious to see how things translate when they go somewhere else, especially when it’s not an NXT crowd. Let’s get to it.

I liked GRaves as a worker. Great heel but psychology wasn't always there for a guy with a submission finisher.

The taping results sound delicious.

Samoa Joe is a real dark horse for wrestler of the year. Like everything he does is absolute magic. Great matches with Zayn, Balor, Nakamura, strong promos and excellent character work.

He deserves a real strong run on the main roster.

Pretty good. Great working punches.

Thank you! There was something about Corey Graves that he did as well as anyone else but I was struggling to remember what it was - and it was the punches! I think Graves could have been big, but I actually like him much more now that he's an excellent commentator rather than a pretty good wrestler.
