It’s another interesting night as we have the four matches to set up the fatal fourway match to determine a #1 contender to the NXT Title. Other than that though we’re heading down to Australia to see what should be the final match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe for the NXT Title. As a bonus, it’s inside a steel cage. Let’s get to it.

It’s time to start the build towards “Takeover: San Antonio” as we have a four way elimination match to crown a new #1 contender. Tonight it’s Bobby Roode vs. Andrade Cien Almas vs. Tye Dillinger vs. Roderick Strong for the shot at Shinsuke Nakamura in January. We’ve also got Daria Berenato vs. Billie Kay in a revenge match. Let’s get to it.

One For Texas

Hopefully they can New Day Almas. He made a name for himself as ingobnerable. They should put him back that way, hell it was his gimmick before it was Naito's.

Nikki Cross facing Asuka is a tantalising prospect. You have the option of having a two-parter with Cross actually having the chance to put Asuka away, only for her to chew on Asuka's face past the traditional five-count and get disqualified or something, then Asuka beating her properly in the rematch. Just while we wait for Ember Moon, like.

The way Almas and Strong chop people, somebody's going to lose a nipple before long.

Debuting Almas as a pimp who does flips - shockingly - didn't really do him any favours but he's doing wonderfully in this new character.

Bobby Roode versus Shinsuke Nakamura is going to be fiiire.

Andrade made his own portion of this match very fun to watch. I won't call it his coming out party, but perhaps the invitation. I'll be watching his career with great interest.

I'm also eager to hear what's next for Tye, who was on the verge of... something defeatist?... before qualifying for this match.

They've told a great story with the women's division, haven't they? Asuka wins the belt, then potential contenders are moved up to the main roster within the same small window. She was left with zero competition. Now, Peyton and Billie have significant tandem momentum. Spaz Nikki is fun to watch, and Ember being booked as the natural successor, along with Daria who could be a surprise anchor in the division (if she lands convincing strikes for an MMA fighter). Suddenly, the competition happens all at once.

Asuka has to survive a multi-lady melee before dropping to Ember, if that is indeed the strategy for the division.

He needs to go full Ingobnerable and start attacking refs, walking out of matches and just generally not giving a fuck and never speaking english, give him the latina interviewer as the only person who can get promos off of him. Not like Naito's "I don't care, fuck y'all" but more like a "Like I give a shit LOL" approach.

I want him to win the NXT title because he still needs tonnes of time to develop.

Yeah I'm super invested in Almas. And Sanity for that matter. Roderick Strong bores me.

It’s a special week in NXT as we’re closing out the year with a house show taped over in Japan earlier this month. The main event is Shinsuke Nakamura challenging Samoa Joe for the title in a match we saw a few weeks back. This is also a two hour show, meaning the matches won’t have to be as clipped. Let’s get to it.

A First For NXT

As a long time viewer of Intervention , I think Nikki Cross was on her way to "spend time" with "a friend" to go get her "medicine" after that confrontation with Asuka

Man, these two weeks of shows could have been fantastic had they not already spoiled them. In sure the Aussie show will be a banger just like the Japan one was

I really loved this match! BUT IMO it should've ended when DIY did the Shatter Machine. That was just such an awesome "fuck you" moment, had it ended there, would've been absolutely perfect. But after that the match kinda lost it for a bit. Made up for it with that ending though, what a great visual!

The match they had before that was also literally perfect (when Gargano tapped out)

We’re back with another special show as it’s another two hour house show, this time from Australia. Again we’ve seen most of the main event but just like last week, we should get to see more than we already got a few weeks back. Other than that, almost none of this matters aside from having good matches. Let’s get to it.

With a Lot of Hitting Him in the Face

And already looks like he's overweight.

He's hasn't lost a pound since he left(may even have added several), but his ring work has gotten even better- which should have been impossible.

I'm still hoping that they form Heroes Eventually Die in NXT, it would be great for the tag division which is surely losing the Revival any day now, and would be a great vehicle to introduce End to the WWE environment. A feud out of the gate with Sanity could work perfectly if they did run with a Hero/End team.

From what I remember, it wasn't his physique that got him sacked, but his refusal to hit the gym in spite of being directly told to by management. Obviously, either his attitude or management's expectations of him have shifted.
