The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Am I the only one who would really like to see Authors Of Pain and Sanity have their tag finishers switched?

The one sanity used seems much more logical for AOP.

I seem to remember reading something a couple weeks ago about Scott Dawson being on crutches at an NXT House Show and haven't heard anything since, is he seriously injured or was it just something minor that's better now? Hopefully the latter.

well it's nice that No Way Jose and Rich Swann got past round 1.

To bad there is no way in hell they get past round 2.

We’re getting closer to the second round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and it’s also the start of a fresh taping cycle. The other interesting story is the return of Shinsuke Nakamura to go after Samoa Joe. It’s fairly obvious that they’ll be facing each other again in Toronto. Let’s get to it.

I Love NXT And I Don't Know How Else To Say It

Not a fan of Strong's music.

Not a fan of Strong at all, but I think that's more a problem with all these "hottest free agent in wrestling" competitors coming in, and after that huge influx of talent from the CWC. I really just want to watch guys like Patrick Clarke, Otis & Tucker, and Tye Dillinger on my screens for NXT, rather than Shinsuke Nakamura, Aries/Strong, and Bobby Roode.

Strong's reaction was really bad. Like really. I don't know him at all but it wasn't exactly the greatest debut ever.

Nikki Cross is instantly a viable opponent for Asuka. Whoever saves Liv Morgan from the beatdowns by Billie Kay and Payton Rose (name?) will also look like a big deal. If they pull of a credible women's division in three months from where they were at the last takeover, we should never doubt them.

Can we just indulge in how good Samoa Joe is with a microphone in his hands? Just wonderful.

Roderick Strong has been my hero ever since he threw Will Ospreay at me. I wish Dragon Saga were still here so he could confirm that Aries and Strong were last ROH tag champions in 2006.

Some might criticise Sanity's music for sounding like it belongs to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle villains, yet that is its inherent beauty. The fools.

They were last champs in 05

06 was Chris Daniels & Matt Sydal

It’s the final night for the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. We’re also less than a month away from Takeover: Toronto and that means it’s time to start firming up a lot of the card. We already know a few of the matches so there won’t be many surprises but NXT is great at putting pepper on the steak. Let’s get to it.

My Kind of Show

I enjoyed the promo that Ellering cut. He didn't try to bury Jose and Swann. Makes me think they have a chance. More heels need to take note.

We’re down to three shows before heading north to Toronto and that means it’s time to start hammering out the rest of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The quarterfinals begin tonight and we’ll need to get down to the finals in the next three weeks. Some of the matches have been taped at house shows so it might be time to take a field trip. Let’s get to it.

The Hot Tag To Toronto

I can't see anyone but the Authors of Pain winning the tornament tbh.

Keeps the DIY v Revival feud going with Ellering popping in and out reminding them about his boys.

As if trying to look like the biggest jobbers imaginable, TM61 now wear NXT t-shirts to the ring. It's almost unfathomable. Like, they must know at this point, mustn't they?

DIY are going to beat the revival for the titles at takeover. Meanwhile authors of pain will beat TM61. Sanity can easily lose for no reason, authors of pain piss the tournament without beating anyone of note, but will still be the big deal.

Revival go up, DIY get titles, Authors of Pain get there next and Sanity can go after them after that with credibility. It's all good.

On the day The Revival leave NXT, and quickly become no-one of note, I'll do a little cry, partially on behalf of my thrice-dead friend Coco.

I'm holding out hope that they'll go to SDLive and pick-up their program with American Alpha. Maybe letting the crowd see them work each other will actually get both teams over; and somebody is going to need to step up in that division and prevent an eventual Uso reign of terror. I'd say the Authors are probably inevitable as a Raw act, while I doubt that DIY(or any other NXT team) gets a call-up until after Mania at the earliest.

We’re about a week and a half away from Takeover: Toronto and that means we’re in the final drive to the big show. There’s a good chance we’re going to see the semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tonight but on top of that we’ll be seeing the contract signing for the NXT Title match between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe. Let’s get to it.

Just Like Last Time

TM61 shouldn't win in any scenario.

Plus, time for The Revival to lose the titles has come.

Send them to? I don't know which brand needs them more.

SDLive needs them more by a WIDE margin. Their tag division is almost as dead in the water as their Women's division. Plus, as I had pointed out a few days ago, The Revival and American Alpha's in ring chemistry together could go a long way toward getting both teams over as main roster acts.
