The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

TM61 are the Tye Dillinger/Elias Sampson of the tag team world; they're jobbers to the stars.

That's because the NXT tag division almost always follows a very distinct pecking order. TM61 came in with The Revival on top, American Alpha still around, and Ciampa/Gargano finally getting their full push after having occupied the same role that TM61 now currently occupies in the division. Teams like American Alpha and The Revival had to do their time in the wings, do their share of jobs, and hold down the mid tag ranks as well. If you're good in the tag division, you will get your turn; and TM61 are outstanding. I promise all of you will see it once you've got to see more matches from them, they just really know how to work and tell stories, both guys just get it, especially as tag wrestlers. I can't wait to watch them work a couple long affairs with the Authors of Pain, they play the "babyface in peril" role perfectly against powerful, aggressive tag teams.

TM61 is pretty dull. Ring work is great but lads, get a character outside of being australian. The same can be said for the Authors of Pain but there's intrigue there. Ellering in kayfabe won't even reveal their names.

It’s the go home show for Takeover: Back to Brooklyn and that means it’s time for the big hard push towards New York. Odds are we’ll be getting the big showdown between Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura, possibly with Nakamura getting taken down as payback for embarrassing Joe last week. Let’s get to it.

This Is What They Do

So James Storm is finished up with TNA according to himself. Called it a "BS contract dispute." He also said he would be teaming with an old friend very soon. Beer Money in NXT?

If Nakamura beats Joe, Boddy Roode and Austin Aries are in the wings waiting for a title shot. If Joe beats Nakamura, Andrade Almas, Hideo Itami and possibly No Way Jose are in the wings waiting for a title shot. Joe and/or Nakamura can get brought up to the main roster at any time. They've got options.

Personally, Itami should be brought to the title picture, no matter who wins the belt. Nakamura/Itami is the biggest dream match NXT can provide (let alone one of the biggest dream matches in the wrestling world, that's also physically possible to happen), and would make for an amazing main event for a Takeover. Joe/Itami means we finally get a resolution to the "who attacked Itami?" storyline, considering Joe is the only guy left who was around during the night Itami got attacked, as he made his debut, and his characters' intentions were to become champion by any means. They can spin it to say Joe knew he could best Breeze, Balor, and Owens, but was unsure of Hideo Itami.

Joe has to be Shinsuke. Shinsuke has looked way too strong leading into this match...

Why the fuck do people keep blathering this madness.

Its fucking Nakamura. He was brought here for a reason. Get this belt on him and let him carry the brand til next draft.

Its really not complicated

I'm not predicting who will win, because both scenarios are excellent for NXT. I'm leaning towards Nakamura wins, considering a pissed-off Joe can feud with anyone, including William Regal (which, now that I think about it, has been an angle for quite sometime). Should Nakamura lose, all he can do is dream matches, or another title shot, before being called up.

Okay, now I'm convincing myself Nak wins.

No, only one scenario is excellent for NXT.

"If Joe wins, Andrade and No Way Jose are ready!"

That reads like you are telling a fucking joke . Especially in comparison to having Aries and especially Roode in place

I think it goes back to Aries' booking that him losing to Jose seems like a legitimate option.

Itami is still lacking a bit but I wouldn't mind being next in line for a title shot. Joe/Nakamura could go either way but Joe winning is completely plausible. Doing some of his best in ring work in years and killing it on the mic every week let's not rush him up to an Inevitable SD! Apollo Crews feud just yet.

I was going for the face/heel dynamic. Standard booking 101.

Although, heel vs heel could be interesting.

I think the point he was making wasn't to question if they should look for a natural face/heel dichotomy, as much as it was pointing out that keeping in line with a preferred face/heel dynamic would lead to the notion that Nakamura winning is a much easier scenario to book going forward.

The fact is that Roode and Aries could easily, believably, and credibly be entered into the title picture right away, while Finn's exit has left Nakamura as the only babyface who can currently occupy that lofty of a position on the card. Itami is capable of being pushed at that level, but probably needs a little time to work himself back into such a placement(as evidenced by his exclusion from the Takeover main card); while "Cien" has failed thus far to get over at the level that was expected, and Jose, while probably outperforming expectations, simply doesn't have the ability, experience, or worldwide name value to stack up with every other guy in NXT that we have mentioned as an option at the top of the card. (In fact between Andrade's ridiculous gear and Jose's constant dancing, they're likely better suited right now to be competing for a male stripper title than they are for the NXT championship).

With all of that noted, I still feel like Joe/Shinsuke could go either way, and they could just continue that program no matter which guy wins in Brooklyn. Also Joe/Itami does write itself and Itami definitely has the cache for the spot and time does exist to build him back to championship level before another Takeover.

I also concur with the idea of a future Itami/Nakamura dream match being an unmistakably huge ace in the hole that NXT possesses as advantage over the rest of the world- its one of the biggest never-before-booked dream matches that still exists in pro wrestling(though they did meet once in NOAH in a tag match, but never in singles). But this isn't a match that should be happening anytime soon, and it should be saved for 2017 and should likely be at least one of the two men's farewell to the brand.

Yea, that's what I was going for....that your two top face options after this are a guy with a joke gimmick and a guy who is about as over as an overflowed gas station toilet

I know what he was referring; I wasn't confused about the situation.

No Way Jose would be a great contender to the NXT championship, if the match occurred on a weekly show. NXT have done big weekly shows in Full Sail before, should the difference between Takeover shows be too great to not have a title bout. If Joe retains, and No Way Jose beats Austin Aries, I wouldn't put it past them to have a filler feud between Joe/Jose. He's improved greatly, has gotten over with his gimmick, and he had me sold when he showed a physical side, and cut a great promo on Austin Aries.

Also, I find it weird that, once this upcoming Takeover is finished, Andrade will have competed on television/the network as many times on Takeovers as he has for the weekly NXT shows in Full Sail. Despite the lack of character, and inability to get over, they sure do have a lot of faith in him to give him a spot at Takeover. (I'd argue that having Tye Dillinger as his first, and second opponent, with Bobby Roode being his next one, with such a GLORIOUS theme song and rich backstory, that Andrade was doomed to get over from the start).

I'm doubting Aries as the next contender, though. Aries/Nak has happened before, and Joe/Austin is something that could happen, but I'd see Itami/Joe or a Nak/Joe rematch occurring much sooner. I think it'll be Roode, or Itami, as the next big title feud... and with rumours spreading that Australia is hosting the next Takeover, sometime in December, ~ 4 months to build the match, Itami and Roode could very well be the guys to challenge the NXT champion; it'll be enough time to build (Roode)/rebuild (Itami) for a title shot.
