The new cinematic camera for entrances are boss. Nia Jax looked menacing and Tye Dillinger looked like a fucking star. Nia needs a change in theme (or at the very least, removal of the lyrics) and Tye needs his shirt on the store, and they're both golden.

I don't know what it is about him but he's always annoyed me.

As a promo, he impressed me. As a wrestler, he was very advanced at being basic. His promo and wrestling abilities don't match. He needs to pick on and mesh the other around it. However, this is the first time I've seen him in years, and he's still the same as I saw him when I was watching TNA weekly.

He'd be a great hand for the home-grown talent, though.

Nia Jax's new look (Well, new for me) really, really works for her. Instantly more of a fan. I hope for positive things with her and am looking forward to the inevitable Asuka match.

I've never been an EY fan. I find it mostly just hilarious that he's in WWE at all considering he told fans to kill themselves if they didn't like Slammiversary.

If Tye Dillinger doesn't become NXT Champion ever it'll be a crying shame. As a dude who seriously did not like Gavin Spears, he's absolutely incredible now and his entrance is money.

I don't think Nia Jax is as effective as she can (and damn well should) be. Her look is so incredibly unique and impressive. She is not selling me on what she's supposed to be. If it weren't for Corey Graves jabbering our ears off every time she came out to the ring, I don't think fans would make a connection. I think she really needs to work on her entrance in a sense that, now that they've tweaked the initial camera angles to emphasize her eyes, she needs to tell a story with them. I think she's failing to do so.
Not to mention that for such a big lady, she doesn't seem intimidating in the ring.

She should be Awesome Kong-ing EVERYONE. During random women's matches, her music should hit, she should be slowly walking out and just decimating everyone, followed by her standing in the center of the ring with a mean look on her face while the camera zooms into the eyes that they're trying to base her character around. No talking, no smiling... just chaos.

You can see the potential is there with her. She has her family to pour decades of wrestling knowledge into her. She has the size and look that makes her stand out. She has the work ethic and dedication. She just needs something to piece it all together and I'll tell you one thing; pairing her with Eva Marie is not doing that. It's more like making her a Tyrus-like lacky with more emphasis on the dumpster-fire Eva Marie. Sure, Eva's improved tremendously and has potential to be an incredible heel women's champion. But the women's division doesn't need another Barbie Doll. They need a Nia Jax.

One of the hottest free agents in pro wrestling, Bobby Roode, may no longer be a free agent.
PWInsider.com is reporting that they were told that Bobby Roode has signed a deal with WWE NXT. He allegedly signed the deal with WWE NXT at last night's WWE NXT tapings in Florida. He was backstage at the tapings but did not appear.

Also, D-Man, regarding your earlier post about Nia Jax: I absolutely agree. With more presence and harder hitting offense she could be something special. That's what NXT is for, after all. I feel she can develop into something good and I really hope she does. Her look is absolutely killer. I just hope she's given the room TO develop before she's thrust into the limelight for good. She has a lot of weaknesses now, but those will hopefully be fixed in time.

She's been wrestling for literally - literally, she made her in-ring debut at a house show one year ago tomorrow - a year. Her match with Bayley in London was of a high standard. One has to take into account that she's still very much developing, yet is already very good - almost as if it were in her blood.

I agree with all of this. I feel the only missing piece to her puzzle is her character and crowd connection. Lack of in-ring talent was never even a question in my mind.

Has anyone ever explained why she and Eva are a team? What does Nia get out of this?

As far as we know, in a backstage segment on some random episode of NXT, Eva Marie approached Nia Jax with the options of talking business. They walked off into a private room, and a few episodes later, they became a duo.

The meeting was behind closed doors, so we do not know the details. I guess we'll have to wait until one of them leaves in disgust, and talks about it on Colt Cabana's podcast.
