The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake: like the look, like the dubstep theme, pity they're doomed to fail.

Edit: But I just became a believer in the luchas.

Edit2: Holy fuck at that main event. That tornado DDT. Christ almighty.

I totally lost my shit at that DDT. It was incredible.

Sasha Banks is a hidden gem in NXT.

She has improved tremendously. People call Charlotte's improvement great but Banks went from someone who was a bland mediocre wrestler into an absolutely amazing heel who I never grow tired of watching.

I don't believe such a transformation took place - I always remember Sasha being on this level.

That first tag match was nothing if not short and sweet. Enzo Amore could read a list of pizza toppings to that crowd and get them hyped as fuck. How great was Big Cass' throwing Enzo at Gotch in the corner? Have you ever seen anything like that before? The right team won; Dagger is still dead wrong on the Vaudevillains.

Triple H on this show. JBL hasn't been anywhere to be seen for a while. Considering how NXT is the best wrestling show there is, I'd like to think that shows how surplus the GM role actually is. The Takeover 2 accouncement that we've all known about for a long time. And an announcement of a new GM. Huh. JBL's four appearances were worthwhile. The new GM's not Hogan, is it?

Tyson Kidd before, during and after his match with Tyler Breeze demonstrating his newly grown personality. The question is: did he always have it or is this genuinely a new development?

Becky Lynch's new gimmick of "diva killer" or whatever is all well and good but it's nowhere near as hilarious as her diddlydiddlydiddly river dancing gimmick was. The women's match didn't have as much hair-pulling, screaming and weirdly ineffectual punches as I'm accustomed to - please take it away. Charlotte making up for the borefest against Summer Rae the other week and probably regaining some confidence from it.

Everyone but Renee Young was playing the "horrendously obnoxious and pedantic announcer" role this week, it seemed. I must remember to apologise to Coco about her one day, should he turn up alive. Tom Phillips is the one that gets a spot on SmackDown? Fuck that!

"MOJO RAWLEY IN ACTION NEXT." Oh. Goody.

But it was a trick and Enzo Amore came out instead. NXT, you kidder, you!

But then Mojo actually comes out. And he's still fine. Really needs to stop using the arse splash and stop being a babyface though. Quite liked his promo: "You think all I am is a smile?"

Kalisto's Sub Zero entrance gear is cool but not as cool as SAMI ZAYN'S NEW TIGHTS! Landmark moment there. Great middle ground between the sleakness of the originals and the endearing busyness of the second. Kalisto asks the crowd if they want Sin Cara tagging in and the crowd responds with deafening silence. Do luchadors come any more generic? Adam Rose wrestled like Kruger and Kalisto wrestled like the laws of physics don't apply to him.

That one handstand move Kalisto did was fucking sick.

Neither tag team still feels like they should defeat the Ascension though. But the Vaudevillains need more screen, I'm dying to see more of those two.

I also wouldn't be against seeing more Tyson Kidd. It would be a miracle if they allowed him to bring this personality to the main roster.

The vaudevillians are an nxt only gimmick.
Tyson Kidd is main roster talent, but probably won't be taken seriously
Becky lynch is shit, like a female mojo rawley but worse
Mojo Rawley needs a new finisher and a heel turn.
Sami Zayn is perfection. He needs new entrance music though and the ole chant needs to change to 'Ole Ole Ole Ole, Sami Sami'

This slipped to the second page? You fucking *****.

Two things have happened in my life: 1) I've gone almost completely deaf in my left ear (hopefully soon to be remedied) and 2) I've realised I can watch NXT on a Thursday. If I had to guess, I'd say I saw a recording that originally aired in Saudi Arabia. Hey - that's where Gelgarin is!

When a crowd uses the term "jobbers," one might feel justified in claiming they've jumped the shark. And that's just what those little Floridian bastards do this week when The Ascension - spoilers - squash some jobbers. I'm writing the word down and not yelling it out at a wrestling show, so it's OK.

The new general manager isn't Hulk Hogan! The new general manager is

William Regal.

Oh-ho, yes. One only hopes this doesn't mean he's given up his other gig.

These turds in the crowd are getting way too fucking uppity, man. How they manage Goldberg chants with their own dicks lodged so firmly in their mouths is anyone's guess.

Sasha Banks and Bayley are two of NXT's most talented wrestlers - it's always a pleasure to watch them perform. Sasha was impressive as always and Bayley continued her transformation from comedy act to legitimate contender. At this point, I'm not sure who I'd rather see win at Takeover out of Bayley and Zayn. I think Bayley.

Though having Zayn lay out everybody in the ring and grab the title belt is a good way to hype me up.

When they pull the trigger with Sami winning the belt, it will be a glorious day. If the way they have been booking live shows is any indication, then we just may see that happen.

We’ve got something to look forward to now with Takeover II just a few weeks away. All of the titles will be on the line but the champions need some challengers. As for tonight, the main story is the debut of the new General Manager to replace JBL who left for undisclosed reasons. Let’s get to it.

That Old Feeling

Part of me feels they're purposely doing that end result on the Live Events just to throw us off. I've honestly just come to accept Zayn never winning the belt as the ultimate blue balls. Though the place will erupt if it does happen.

Sasha Banks needs more screen time, that will surely happen when Bayley takes the belt.

I don't think Zayn should be promoted to the main roster for some time, for the reason that he's too good in NXT.

Zayn fits in very well in Full Sail with the primarily smark audience because they can successfully analyse a good worker. Many of the casual WWE viewers can't do that, and as a result, I don't think he'll transition with the normal audience, very much like prior NXT promotions.

It doesn't really help that outside of a plucky underdog, Sami doesn't necessarily have a gimmick that stands out, and it's difficult to establish a plucky underdog right off the bat. It needs time and dedication to pull off, something WWE are known not to have.

I'd rather him in a small area where he can thrive than a big area where he'll become irrelevant. Plus, there's always the possibility of Steen, Devitt and KENTA feuds, which will be fucking awesome.

Zayn and Neville aren't simply needed any longer. KENTA, Devitt and Steen are on the way up and will soon make them obsolete.

Although as of right now there's no spot for them. Zayn would be a perfect post Mania debut.

Sweet straw man. You've figured me out.
It's not like the fucking roster is stacked already.
It's not like WWE signed a big name Indy talent well over a fucking year ago and he still hasn't debuted.
It's that I hate too many good wrestlers around at once!

Christ you're dense.

If they were to ever turn Cesaro face (Which they should cause they clearly have no idea what to do with him as a heel), I think bring Zayn up & having them two for a tag team based on mutual respect could be a good way to debut Sami.

Again, it's almost as if the roster is so stacked that they can't do anything with someone like him.

Say whatever you want about Bull Dempsey(because he's shit) but he stands out compared to everyone else.

They can easily get everyone on TV, especially since Kenta, Steen, and Devitt can all be face or heel. It's easy for WWE to tell us how great they are, but by having those three interact with guys like Zayn and Neville, they will get some instant credibility from those that either ignored or didn't believe the hype. It really isn't hard to add 3 people to the roster.
