The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

WWE posted a video on Facebook that showed Itami completely losing his shit post-match.

Ohno tries to calm him down multiple times but Itami pushes him out of the way and you can tell that Ohno was getting pissed, so I'm assuming that we're getting an Ohno vs Itami feud

Itami/Ohno have fantastic chemistry so I'm pumped.

Get skinny first ohno.
He doesn't even need to get skinny first. Just wear a non-skin-tight shirt and pants/shorts. Hell the New Face of America is bigger than him and nobody cares, because he hides it well.

So with the Ciampa turn, and both DIY members presumably moving into singles action, we are now looking at a NXT singles division that includes:

Roode, Itami, Strong, Ohno, Black, Almas, McIntyre, EY, Lorcan, Ciampa, and Gargano. And that doesn't even include the likes of No Way Jose, Dain, Murphy, and any of the top UK brand guys that the company decides to use at NXT, who are all very nice roster pieces as single's guys in their own right.

Can we fairly say now that the current NXT roster is the deepest and most loaded that it has ever been in the Full Sail era as far as male singles competitors goes?

Velveteen Dream's elbow drop is just great.

I agree with you to an extent but what exactly has Lorcan done? He's being horribly mismanaged. And while the males singles wrestlers roster is packed, the tag team division is not. The same could be said for the womens division but at least the womens division is packed with fully realised characters like Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, Asuka, Nikki, etc. The tag division has the authors and who else? The two big guys? Who follows them? TM61? And if they win then who faces them?

I mean, KO could do to lose some fucking weight too but I get what you're saying and you're correct.

The mens roster is deeper, no doubt about it. At least in terms of quantity of good talent. I'll buy a ticket to see that roster.

However, on that whole list I do not see a single guy on there that is legit main roster Main Eventer. None of them come close to a guy like Balor, Nakamura, or even Owens in terms of guys that could be seen as main roster draws, and people someone will buy a ticket to see. Maybe Black could be eventually it's too early to tell.

And putting Buddy Fucking Murphy in that list even in small print is just hysterical. Guy's been nothing since his team ended a year ago. I mean they also have Kona Reeves and Angelo Dawkins don't forget about them....

As were you, they both could lose some weight, as I should have clarified originally.

Granted I also don't think Kevin Owens would be the same if he weighed 220 instead of 275 or whatever he's at. His look is what helps set him apart from everyone else.

I think that Drew McIntyre is a legitimate main roster main eventer.

I'd say the same thing about Strong and those videos gave him a big upgrade. If WWE does the same with McIngyre, he'll be fine. You can feel the presence when he's out there.

No argument that Lorcan hasn't been utilized very well, but he has been given a few chances to have competitive matches on TV, and he has looked great every time.

And while the males singles wrestlers roster is packed, the tag team division is not. No argument again. The strength of the roster lies almost entirely in its men's singles division at the moment, and the DIY split only exacerbates that. The women's division has a big boost coming in the latter third of the year though, once many of the Mae Young classic competitors are brought in.

And putting Buddy Fucking Murphy in that list even in small print is just hysterical. Guy's been nothing since his team ended a year ago. I mean they also have Kona Reeves and Angelo Dawkins don't forget about them...

I didn't mean to imply that Murphy had been positioned as a player in the division. Hell, as previously stated, they haven't even done that with Lorcan in any real way yet. Dain has also been nothing but a lackey, but he has potential with his size and the ring work he showed pre-WWE to become a guy who receives a better spot eventually. And back to Murphy, the fact is that none of the "homegrown" guys who remain with NXT have been used for shit thus far, but out of the group of them, Murphy is the one with the best chance to eventually be a player in the division. He is a much better worker than the likes of Dawkins, Ford, Clark, Blake, etc. Murphy is more in the league of guys like Breeze and Dillinger, who each found a way to break out a little in NXT once they were given a bit to work with.

All the in-ring skills, but his stint in the indies and TNA has not taught him how to have any other persona other than being Drew Galloway, which is pretty bland.

Another big badass.

Thats the beauty of a gimmick, if you have some personality already all you need is amplification and an absolute desire to stay on top.

Fuckin' Miz man.

I've decided to go back to the start. It's incredible how much the production and style of the show has come along - even to the point I started watching in 2014. It's like the programme went through the same transition from bland and solid to finding its character over time.

I saw the Big E - Rollins title match and didnt realized they had probably doubled the size of the NXT Zone since the start. In the beginning there were like literally 5 rows

I'm actually starting to watch the weekly NXT show now. Just a few notes from the most recent:

- I've been saying it since the Dusty Rhodes classic, Authors of Pain vs Heavy Machinery is the ultimate hoss battle that must happen and it's finally a dream come true

- I actually enjoy Lars Sullivan, although I have no clue what he'll eventually do. He's big and ugly and is pretty fitting for the role and thank god his name is no longer Dylan Miley

-The Roderick Strong and Bobby Roode promos were good, but Roderick looked like a geek by the end

- Lorcan vs Itami was fuckin brutal. Lorcan is still one of my favorites on the roster, and Jesus those slaps were something else. Heel Itami is something I can get behind and an Ohno/Itami feud will be sweet.

- The Dain/Jose match was just a match, but that entrance music is sick. I also may be the only one that wants to see a Velveteen Dream/No Way Jose match

It’s title week on NXT as Asuka is defending the Women’s Title against Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross in an elimination match. This still feels like a way to set up the returning Ember Moon as a title challenger, which should make for one heck of a challenge to the title. Other than that we’re likely to get some more development towards Bobby Roode vs. Roderick Strong. Let’s get to it.

It’s the last episode of a taping cycle and that means we have a major match to wrap things up as Aleister Black is facing Kassius Ohno in what could be one of the hardest hitting matches we’ve ever seen in NXT. If nothing else Black needs to get a win over a bigger name instead of just beating nobodies time after time. Let’s get to it.
