We’re rapidly approaching Takeover: Chicago and that means we need to fill in a lot of the card. As luck would have it, a major development is going to take place tonight as we have a battle royal for the #1 contendership to the Women’s Title. That leaves a lot of doors open for challengers, including a potential Ember Moon rematch. Let’s get to it.

What Do You Get When You Cross A Ruby With A Moon?

So who is the next established guy to sign up out of everyone left out there?

I would like Jay Lethal, Marty Scurll or Dalton Castle. All would be a great fit. Especially Scurll ebcause they can use him on the UK show or 205 live as well. Dalton would be the best choice IMO. Dude has charisma, talent & is still newer in the business so he could stick around as a solid hand for years to come.

I really would even like to see them pick up Silas Young to help fill out the roster a bit. Older? Yeah, but there is always room for a tough old bastard to help get the newer guys over.

That seems logical. I really dont see the hype behind him though.

Honestly, same goes for Chris Hero. He rarely got a wow from me back in the day & aside from his stuff with Cesaro/Claudio, I never got his appeal. First NXT run was a bust & his fat jersey gimmick isnt working for me now.

I cant be the only one who thinks this.

Where in the blue sky has No Way Jose gone? Can't even remember the last time I saw him.

Not since the Sanity beat down at Axxess.

Dunne Vs Bate for the UK title at takeover Chicago is goijg to be an absolute shit show

That's what happens when you decide you need to run these every six weeks rather than quarterly. Look forward to the early-to-mid July Takeover too before they return to Brooklyn...

I seriously hope that doesn't actually happen and they give Brooklyn III the build-up it deserves/needs.

I meant it in a good way. Riot-level hot, knowledgeable crowd, and Dunne out to impress since he should have won the thing in the first place.

With ten days to go until Takeover: Chicago, it’s time to crown a new #1 contender to the NXT Title. Tonight we have Hideo Itami facing Roderick Strong for the shot at Bobby Roode in Chicago. While this should seems like a foregone conclusion, Strong was built up quite well in the back to back video packages and looks good coming into the match. Let’s get to it.

So according to the Observer, Io Shirai has accepted a WWE deal.

Hopefully we see her and Hojo in the women's tournament but also in NXT in some capacity, similar to Ibushi last year.

EDIT: also, JR is calling the U.K. Title match

How the fuck did they not find a way to get Al Black and Drew Mac onto this show? Even in squashes, who cares? (I know they will technically perform that night, but its the principle of them being on the high profile presentation)

Thats oversight that would make the main roster proud

It’s the go home show for Takeover: Chicago and that should mean a hard sell towards the show. The card currently has four matches, which is one below the norm for most of the Takeover specials. I’m not sure what to expect tonight but there’s always the chance that the show can be a lot of fun. Let’s get to it.
