The Miz leading to the Rock vs John Cena?

Where are all the sane people around here? Why in the hell would The Rock come back for Summerslam? If (and that is a big if) The Rock comes back EVER it will be for Wrestlemania ... PERIOD. Nothing else is big enough for The Rock unless he is actually making a multi-PPV return ... which is even less likely.
For the OP saying he thinks The Rock vs. Cena will likely happen within a year ... you are abso-fucking-lutely nuts. The Rock is at least two years from any possible ring return and that is only if his movies start going in the shitter money-making wise.
I would love to see The Rock back also ... but dreams are just dreams ... lets keep within reality here.

I'm not saying it is going to happen. Just a pipe dream man. I was just saying how it would be set up. The chances of it happening are totally slim to none, as much as Macho Man making a return to the ring.

The Rock coming back is what the WWE needs right now even if it is ONLY for one final match. While many say it will NEVER happen, I say, NEVER say NEVER! There's always that possibility that it may happen. As for those that say it would take a bombing out of his movie career, look at the past 2 movies he's come out with. The Southland Tles wasn't worth a DAMN in my book and thisnew kids movie about space aliens doesn't look like its gonna be worth a FUCK either. Hell his career is sinking lower and lower. JBL once said that a wrestler is only as good as his last match, well I say that an ACTOR is only as good as his last movie. Once his movies don't sell worth a fuck he may actually look at coming back if only for one last match so really, you never know so don't discard the possibility of a Rock v. Cena match. That would be AWESOME!!!!!

You do know that ALL of The Rock's movies are making money right? Does not matter if they are good movies, they are making money.
Race to Witch Mountain has already made $94 million ($50 million budget), Get Smart made $230 million ($80 million budget), The Game Plan $144 million (budget $22 million), hell ... even Gridiron Gang made money at $41 million (budget $30 million).
He gets paid an estimated $12 million+ per film. His career is definitely not sinking lower. Just because you want it to does not make it fact. He is a box office superstar ... and a huge draw.

Nothing for nothing, but Get Smart was Steve Carrel's flick more than the Rock's. But I see what you are getting at, for every Southland Tales there is a Game Plan with the Rock. Walking Tall did pretty damn good actually along with The Rundown. And the Rock just got done hosting Nick's big award show, he is showing no signs of slowing down. And he is being smart about it too, he has an even mix of family, action, comedy and drama flicks. He isn't pigeonholing himself and just strictly doing action movies. I totally do not see his star burning out anytime soon.

It just would be fuckin sweet seeing him lace up the boots one last time. . .

First, I don't think this match would happen outside of Wrestlemania. However there are two facts that make me think Summerslam this year would work.
1. It's in LA, which is Hollywood's backyard, so Rock gets home field advantage
2. wrestlezone posted earlier today that Rock's next film starts to film in early 2010. If that's true, that means he's sorta free for the next chunk of time including around Summerslam.

Good idea, unfortunatly it will never happen cuz the rock is "too good" 2 even make an occational appearence 4 thewuns that got him where he is 2day.....Rock is my favorite all time wrestler and i am saying this. He just wud have absolutly no intrest in returning..even for just wun more match.

I will never say that this can't/won't happen. I believe Rock has only ONE MORE match in him. I think he is truly done with in-ring work but is willing to go one last time. Probably because Hogan did it for him.*

*Discounting that Hogan's 'last time' includedan Undisputed Title, Tag Title, Orton fued, Michaels fued. But he did get DESTROYED by Lesnar so I don't mind.

Will Cena be that guy for Rocky? I don't see anyone else right now who is that guy. He is the 'Rock' of this era, who was the 'Hogan' of his....
But I don't see this happening any time soon (at least 2-3 years). It might be when he gets into the HOF, you know Vince is saving him for when his roster runs dry.

If it were to happen, face v. face, can work. But I feel that it would be better if there was a heel involved. It's rare when that big a match is face/face, and why would Rock feel 'called out' if it's a guy that has a buttload of respect for him?

I'm not fantisizing about Cena turning heel, I'm not fantasizing about Cena doing anything. I could care less either way. I feel before he is 'done' with the biz he should go to the other side again. But it doesn't have to be anytime soon. I just feel the story leading to the match would be BETTER:

Cena getting frustrated because Rocks 'ducking' him adds an old school boxing feel to it.

Cena tried every respectful way to have this match for the fans, hoping that it could redeem Rock in some fans eyes. When all along Cena wanted this match for HIMSELF so he can prove to the world yada yada yada.

Cena starts railing Rock in mainstream media as well, larger scale than this, because I only hear about it in the IWC and once on Kimmel.
He should say it everytime he is on TV; at a red carpet "Rock is ducking me", on Late Night "he used the fans and now won't acknowledge them", when he (eventually) hosts SNL he should play The Rock and totally emasculate him.

Just go to the point when Rock has to address it mainstream...and if Rock turns it down Cena turns it up.

That sounds a whole lot better than "You're an inspiration, I love you man, let's just have a go." with all smiles and sh!t.

What are you talking about. This thread is pointless, and has nothing to do with what is going on right now. Since when did anyone get the idea that the Rock is coming back to the WWE, and it will be through the Miz? The Rock isn't coming back people. He is making way to much money right now to come back. I think this feud won't go another month.
