The Miz leading to the Rock vs John Cena?

Pre-Show Stalwart
Hear me out. Ok so 2 weeks ago Miz said he had a bunch of celeberty names in his phone book. Named some names and went on to challanging Cena that night and the following week. What I'm getting at is POSSIBLY he can say oh yah theres one contact I forgot to mention in Hollywood in my contact list and have the Rock come out and challange Cena at Summerslam, or something like that. This would happen in a couple months, give it a month and a half, two month build. It's an idea and its more toward the no, but it could EASILY work if they wanted to go this route. I still think we will see Rock vs Cena sometime and since WM sells on its own why not get a HUGE buyrate for their number 2 PPV? Im not saying Rock will return full time hell thats like a 1% chance if that, or even part time, but like a one more match type thing. They owe us at Staples Center too for the disaster PPV's known as No Way Out 07 and Judgment Day 04.

That is actually a really good idea imo. I'm not sure if it will happen with involvement from the Miz but that would be a great way to bring Rock and Cena together nonetheless. If the WWE were looking for some way to do this then that could be it, only problem is would the Miz simply having Rock's number in his phone be an epic enough way to reintoduce the Rock for such a big match/feud with Cena? I suppose it could and it would also give Miz a bit of the spotlight. Cena/Rock is one match most would love to see no doubt...

good idea, but the rock wont come back at all, under any circumstances, until his movie career inevitably bombs out. i would like to see it, hell he might be able to pull a watchable match out of cena, but he's got bigger fish to fry right now

I think this is a great idea........the only thing I see wrong with it is if Miz is the one that brings The Rock in, he will have to be involved in the angle somehow as well. Having said that, its obvious to anybody with half a brain that if Rock came back, even for just the one match, he would be a face. It would be almost impossible for them to turn him heel after such a long absense (with exception of those in the IWC that feel he is a sell out) I guess my point is that they would never be able to pull it off with both Rock and Cena being faces and Miz being a heel.......

Now I know some of you will say that this is bigger than the Miz and he will be dropped from the angle just as quick as Rock was brought into it. But my reasoning is that if they are using Miz to bring in Rocky, they would obviously have him involved in the angle after that.....but being that Rock and Cena would both be faces it would never work with Miz as a heel.

Other than that, as much as I hate The Rock, I think I would probably mark the f*ck out if he showed up and challenged Cena at Summerslam.

Really good idea.....just not feasible in my opinion.

I was thinking that too with the Rock being introduced by the Miz wouldn't be a good way to get Rock over as a face, however Rock coming back being introduced by Chris Jericho (the most over heel) right after Jericho rips on the fans and saying he has a new tag team partner and its the Rock. He would get a standing O no matter what, so it doesnt matter I dont think how he comes back at first. Easy way around it is him just saying WTH I never gave you my number and go off on Miz or something to where The Rock beats the crap outta the Miz for mentioning he has or got the Rocks number. This could/will turn Cena heel for this feud and Miz just like with Cena and Big Show The Miz can just walk away and it'll be like he had nothing to do with it.

I dont think Rock coming back for another match will NEVER happen esp if they pay him a good amount to wrestle one more match ESP with Cena would be HUGE and I cant stand Cena but I'll give credit where credit is due.

im having trouble taking the Miz seriously. It took me awhile to shake off him being on the Real World and now a wrestler. I'm over that, but I think what bothers me about about him is his in-ring attire. I think he just looks stupid. He needs a better look to be a top-tier guy. He wears that dumb hat and weird board shorts. I'm not the fashion police or anything but it just doesn't seem like a look that could be on a guy trying to be in the main event spot light.

Also, in regards to Rock vs Cena. If it were to happen, I don't think WWE would make it happen at Summerslam, its either Wrestlemania or bust.

If anything, they would bring Rock in during a Miz promo as he talks sit about Cena. And he stands looking at Miz and smiles then drops him with a Rock Bottom and claims that it isn't about the Wiz (you know he would call him that) and it is about Cena. Then Cena comes out and they have a promo face off about how Rock abandoned the fans for money and fame in Hollywood while Cena still makes movies and still stays for the fans. Of course this would have Rock retort back with how well Cena movies do at the box office. Anyway, it would lead up to a match down the line.

Even if they push Cena as a face for sticking to his wrestling roots, the crowd would turn on him like they did the Rock when he faced Hogan. It could be booked though, totally. I agree though that Rock has contract obligations and such and even though he looked to be in the best shape of his life at the Kid's Choice Awards (seriously, never saw a host take their shirt off so many times) he would look relatively small to Cena muscle mass wise I think. So Rock would have to bulk up and lose the lean look he has going.

I would totally mark out like a bitch though if that was to happen. Vince would totally have to keep it hardcore under lock and key and not let ANYONE know about it though.

Yes that is a Wrestlemania main event match no question, BUT Wrestlemania is gonna sell or usually will sell well no matter what (WM 25 sold and look at the card besides Undertaker Michaels). Summerslam is the number 2 PPV why not get a huge buyrate for the #2 PPV since Wrestlemania is gonna do good no matter what? Shawn Michaels vs Hogan Summerslam 05. That could of easily been a WM main event, but I thought it was smart to put it on Summerslam. Hell Rock vs Goldberg on BACKLASH 03. That was smart cause a throw away PPV probably got very good numbers when WM would of no matter what. I know Cena and Rock is HUGE, but if it helps with Summerslam numbers so be it. I am also going to be at Summerslam so I am praying for this.

That is a great idea too! Do it like a month and a half before Summerlslam or whatever PPV they do the match on give it a great build.

This is a really really good idea and its a match that everyone wants to see. I dont see it happening as soon as summerslam though. MAYBE next year. But if it did happen id go crazy. If WWE could pull off a Rock vs. Cena match they would have to close down every nursery in a 5 mile radius cuz i wouldnt be able to stop punching babies out of excitement.

this would be a perfect opportunity to turn John Cena heel, which is something I really want to see. I enjoyed him as a heel, a lot more than i enjoy him as a face. his pretty boy never say die attitude doesn't work with the character that he originally started out with. How, on gods green earth, do you go from being a "nyc street thug" or whatever, to a native of greenich (sp?) CT?

anyways. obviously the rock will be a face, there's no doubt about it. Even when the rock went super heel, and did "The Rock Concert" he was still cheered... a lot.... by me....

The Miz bringing in the rock, only to be turned on by the rock (some one said it earlier, "how the hell did you get the rocks phone number?" "i got it..." "IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW YOU GOT IT!") And having cena help Miz, and then have Miz be Cena's shadow for a while, leading up to the SS match would be the perfect way to do this.

it would work. trust me. everyone wants to see the rock and cena "fight"

Actually I could imagine Jericho doing it. It could actually be quite hilarious.

Jericho(appearing on Raw)- Now, as all you pathetic hypocrites know, I have never defeated John Cena. So, since I can't seem to manage it, I have brought in someone who I know will manage it.

Now, the other day my wife was cooking a meal. I said to her, what a lovely smelling meal that is. I walked in, and turned out it wasn't my wife cooking. It was-

(Titantron goes off, crowd goes absolutely mental, universe implodes on itself)

The Wwe is not going to turn Cena heel anytime soon, so everyone who is fantasisng about this needs to get over it.
Kids dont buy Tshirts and posters of "bad guys". Its the same reason that Mysterio will never go heel.

Anyway back to the topic at hand, this would be a great way to bring the Rock back for a one shot and help give the Miz a main event push [ Im surprised he seems to be getting one, but whatever].
My only question is who would win?
If its a one time thing, then obviously Cena should go over for the rub, but as much crap as he has talked about the Rock, I dont know if Rocky would be willing to lose to him.

Yah I dont agree with turning Cena heel (as much as I'd love to see that) it's not a smart move because of what he still sells. Simply put Rock against him and he will still be a face, but will be booed out the building but the kids will still like him. If this match happens which I am sure it will either at SS or WM then Cena can remain face but still have 98% of everyone there against him.

"I sent one of your movie scripts to The Rock, he was out of toilet paper."

I'n not sure if that's exactly what he said, but I was expecting a "Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!" chant.

And I think if The Rock were to come back, it would only be at Wrestlemania for the paycheck and the publicity. Although Summerslam in in Los Angeles, it's not nearly as much publicity or pay as Wrestlemania.

OMG I forgot he did say that about the rock using his script for toilet paper! Could be onto something! Well pay is determined by WWE and I would think giving that they need a good buy rate for Summerslam I'm sure they would offer him an amount that he couldnt refuse. Publicity in LA since its there and with commercials should be very good too.

Of course the match would be huge, and it would be my favourite one ever due to it being my two favourite wrestlers.... but you're kidding yourself if you ever think the Rock is coming back. He doesn't even mention wrestling in his interviews due to Hollywood frowning upon it so why would he come back and wrestle?

The money they would offer him wouldn't sway him as he gets more from movies. He has distanced himself so far away from wrestling a return looks nigh on impossible until his movie career is finished.

I would love it if it did happen at WrestleMania one year, but it's not going to.

But we know Vince loves a good swerve every now and again *cough*understatement*cough*

Who's to say that Vince didn't tell Rock to be completely indifferent to the wrestling business and shrug it off when it comes up in interviews to make us fans think it won't happen?
Fans will mark out for Rock way more if they never expected him to comeback in a million years.

Yes he would tell The Rock to make it look like the wrestling industry is beneath him and act like it is a shameful thing for a leading actor to be involved with. Everytime someone asks him about wrestling he says "it was a good platform performing in front of a crowd for my acting career."

I'm all for dreaming of returns from The Rock for nostalgia reasons, but people who think it will actually happen are deluding themselves.

IDK I could see the Rock coming back for a match. Wont be full time or even a part time comeback it would be for one more match, kinda like what they did with Hogan at Summerslam 06.

I would love to see the Rock come back. God knows the biz could use a guy like him around. And Rock/Cena would prob draw big money.

But...its not likely gonna happen.

Yeah I would love to see it happen. I outlined how it would go down in an earlier post. But I watched that video of someone interviewing the Rock and he sort of dusted off what Cena had said about him. So who the hell knows at this rate.

The Rock coming back is what the WWE needs right now even if it is ONLY for one final match. While many say it will NEVER happen, I say, NEVER say NEVER! There's always that possibility that it may happen. As for those that say it would take a bombing out of his movie career, look at the past 2 movies he's come out with. The Southland Tles wasn't worth a DAMN in my book and thisnew kids movie about space aliens doesn't look like its gonna be worth a FUCK either. Hell his career is sinking lower and lower. JBL once said that a wrestler is only as good as his last match, well I say that an ACTOR is only as good as his last movie. Once his movies don't sell worth a fuck he may actually look at coming back if only for one last match so really, you never know so don't discard the possibility of a Rock v. Cena match. That would be AWESOME!!!!!

I'm sorry, but it would be an utter waste to have The Rock come back for one more match against John Cena. Especially when you consider that more than likely Vince would want The Rock to "pass the torch" and job to Cena, ugh. I would much rather see The Rock come back to build a feud with HBK leading into Wrestlemania, as the two (as far as I know) have never met in the ring. I believe that match would be somewhere between "Showstopping" and "Electrifying".
