The Joss Whedon Spam thread: Buffy, Angel, The Avengers (2012 flm) and more

Nothing is as bad as Kennedy. No character in the Whedonverse has incited rage from me like that stupid cunt. And she ruined Willow in the last season just by association. Evil, evil bitch.

it took THIS long for someone to pull out an uzi? AND NO ONE SHOOTS?!

I think that whole Wesley transformation jmt was talking about has just begun

Look out for an episode called "Apocalypse, Nowish" (season 4 ep. 7)... it has the greatest fight scene in the history of the Whedonverse, IMO. I doubt even anything from The Avengers tops it; that's how epic it is.

Awesome visual as well, fire and brimstone everywhere as Angel watches.

Just watched the musical episode of Buffy as well as the memory loss one. They're so silly yet so awesome at the same time.

I downloaded the album from the musical episode. Two are on my current playlist that I listen to at work.

Spike's song is best, obviously.

Saw the Avengers trailer while watching the Walking Dead the other night though, to touch on the Whedon topic of this thread. Looking forward to that one, haven't seen a good superhero flick in awhile and I'm hoping that will do it for me.

usually I agree with you but not this time my friend. Spike's song is good but Walk through the fire is the best.

You're both wrong, I say. Here's the best song of the episode:

One thing I don't understand (and kind of annoys me) is how Buffy treats Spike, I still don't get fully why she treats him like shit. I mean Spike himself said how she was ga ga for Angel so why not him. Yeah she mentions the whole soul thing but it just seemed a bit of a poor reason when Spike and Angel are very similar, heck Angel's killed more people than Spike has and she didn't really question it.

You're preaching to the choir bro. I guess she was just hesitant to trust someone she had previously battled with as an enemy. Their relationship was very complex, and without a doubt it's my favorite in the series.

Fuck, I need to rewatch the whole damn show again. Been too long.

I've always chalked it up to her having left a certain amount of herself when Will and the others pulled her out of heaven. Not unlike how she became an unbearable bitca in the first episode of Season 2 ("When She Was Bad").

No matter how charismatic and likeable Spike was, he was still pure evil at his core without a soul. Buffy could never, ever trust him. The fact she even gave him a shot was a miracle in itself. But without that chip or a soul, there's just no way anyone could have a loving relationship with Spike if they're not evil themselves.

So, this Joss Whedon character is about to become a very big deal, huh?

I actually started Firefly earlier today.... terrific. Absolutely terrific. I hate Star Wars and Star Trek, so I was skeptical even giving this a shot, but I'm so glad I did. I'm only two episodes in (the pilot was unbelievably great), but I'm sure I'm going to dig the hell out of this series and the film that follows it.

I've been meaning to give it a try but didn't want to get invested into a series until the semester's over, is it really that fantastic?

Took a break from the beginning of Season 4 of Angel, because Connor can't fucking act (yet?). There's something about Season 4's in the Buffyverse that just have one particular actor that's... well, Marc Blucas.

It's awesome.

And, that's just mean. Connor might be bad, but he's not Reily bad!

Connor gets much better by the time he travels back to the '60s and decides to shack up with Annie Edison.

I'm currently on Season 4 of Angel (and Season 7 of Buffy) and I don't know what to think of Connor's acting. I'm not sure if he's bad or its because he's acting like a person would coming out of a hell dimension??

So I just finished off Firefly and Serenity... wow.

Going into the last episode of the series, I thought Firefly was great. Definitely a series worthy of being towards the bottom of my top ten. And then the finale went down, and that was easily one of the best hours of television I've ever had the pleasure of sitting through. Holy shit. I thought there was no way the movie could possibly top it...

...and then I actually watched the movie, and Jesus it was spectacular. Truly spectacular. I'll have to watch it again, but it just might rival Terminator 2 as my favorite Sci-Fi Action flick of all time, and if you've read any of my past posts on the Terminator franchise, then you know how much I adore Terminator 2. But Serenity is sincerely that good. I couldn't have loved it more.

Am I the only person in the world that liked Season 4?

Ok, Conor's pretty bad, and I'll admit, I want to punch his lights out during the season. But he actually does a decent job of playing a kid over his head. And, I really have to admit... The Jasmine character is great. I don't know why, I just love that this demonic character can be so... Nice

So yeah, Conor's real unbearable, but it winds up being worth it.
