The Doctor's Office

Oh, X, I was just thinking of falling in love. You've put me off the idea, though. What have they done to you?

Ah don't mind me, I was drunk and reeling from a really strange, painful, stupid evening with an ex-girlfriend who broke my heart into a thousand pieces when I was 16 after dating for 3 years. Don't mind my advice, I was being dumb. Go, fall in love. It's the absolute greatest thing on the planet, better than any material good or reward or high you can get dude. Just when it ends man, god, that sucks worse than anything you've ever felt. But I wouldn't trade the good times for anything man, so it is all worth it in the end I guess. It just really sucks when you're on the losing end and still beating yourself up for shit you did years ago to screw up a relationship. Fuck man, we haven't dated in five fuckin' years and I'm still thinking about her, that shit isn't normal. I need to have a brainwashing I think, right out of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. That would be awesome in a way, to just forget everything. Would kind of suck too I guess.

So, in summation, love infact does not suck. When love dies? Yeah, that's the worst shit in the world. You my dude are quite a cool, smart, funny dude though so don't worry, you'll find love soon enough man, I promise ye. Treasure that shit when you do, because you never know how long it's going to last.

Now, back to my box full of memories and contemplating lighting a match and burning all of the old pictures, notes, and trinkets we shared together. Norcal gave me the advice, but I might be too much of a pussy to go through with it. Someone want to break into my home and burn it for me against my will? I'll give you five dollars!

And right on about Deus Ex dude, I haven't played it in years but that game blew me away when I was younger and really opened my eyes up to the whole world and culture of cyberpunk. Amazing game. Didn't they just come out with a sequel? I might have to actually buy a video game for once, so long as it's still on the PC.

And here's a couple of good tunes I've been listening to lately that I thought you might enjoy. Don't know if you're into DJ Shadow at all, but you should be since you love electronic music so much.

Later days.

Love is awesome. Intertwine your body and your heart with whatever fair maiden entices you, Doctor, as long as you're ready to make it count. Can I get a whatwhat?!

Thanks, X. I'm sure I'll find it one day. I'm in unrequited love right now, but hopefully one day I'll seize it. Just need the right moment...

Yeah it is. I bought the original Deus Ex because I'd never played it but was thinking about getting the new one, Human Revolution. Man, what have I missed? The game's insanely good, even ten years on. Every time I play it I feel like I'm playing something special. The world feels like an interconnected world instead of a series of maps, and the stealth gameplay is really something else. Love it. And JC Denton is totally going to be in the battle zone tournament next year...

Love it. I'd never heard DJ Shadow before but this is definitely awesome.

Speaking of electronic music, have you seen Drive yet? The soundtrack is phenomenal. I legitimately marked out in the middle of the theater when "Nightcall" by Kavinsky started playing during opening titles.

Also, FUCK YES MARK HENRY!!! FIFTEEN YEARS!!! FINALLY!!!!!

I'm excited about Mark Henry, IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME

Oh, and Diamond Dallas Doc <------ that should be your next UN if you decide to change it

Maps? Welcome to 2002 Doc.

On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied were you with NoC? I'm going with a big fat 14.

Great songs are timeless.

I couldn't watch the PPV. I was too busy covering at work for a guy whose grandma died. Mark henry won though so I'll give it a ten.

Jeeze, some people are just so selfish. His Grandma couldn't wait until after the PPV to die?

Seriously.

Actually I think she died a few days ago and the viewing was today. Poor guy, I really get along with him.

It's funny, because I found out they needed me at work after I was leaving the theater after watching Our Idiot Brother. The manager walked up to me and asked if I could come back before seven and close. I could (obviously), but it wasn't really that much fun being called in. I dealt with it, of course, I mean a dude's grandma died, it'd be messed up to be all selfish.

Today could have been better, really. No one could go to the movie with me, only one friend even bothered texting me back.

I liked it a lot. Feel-good, some pretty funny bits, and Zooey Deschanel had me drooling. Not better than Drive, but damn good and I'm glad I saw it.
