When I listen to Beatdrop's Everlast, the phrase "Technopera" comes to mind.
Is there such thing as a technopera? Well, there is now.

This is the song I show to people who believe electronic music isn't "real music".
Seriously, how can you say that that isn't music? I don't get how people can say "ZOMG ALL TEKKNO SUXX ALL YOU DO IS PRESS A BUTTON ITS NOT REAL MUSIC".
There is so much wrong with that statement it's not funny. For one thing, not all electronic music is techno. I prefer songs to genres, but it's like saying you like "rock" or that all rock sucks. Rock is a very broad genre, just like electronic music.
For another, this took a lot more than just pressing a button. You have to sample, mix, play...Disco Dan spent a very long time on this track. It involved a lot of keyboards.
Finally...listen to it. There's a melody. It's catchy. It's well-produced. It's not a load of noises shoved together in a random pattern. It's music.

And that's fine. You're not going to like everything. For example, I dislike country music and certain types of rap. However, I'm not going to try and say it isn't music.

I have Plastic Beach but haven't gotten round to listening to it yet. I want to hear it after going back to Gorillaz and Demon Days first so i can hear the progression.

Darn, I was sort of hoping my rant about why I dislike TM would lead to something more interesting. Oh well. At least people know my exact reasons now.
