The Dark Knight Rises - SPOILERS... That's right, I said SPOILERS.

-The Blake/Robin nod, I felt if this is what they were going to go with, that perhaps naming the character Drake would've made a little more sense.

It would have considering the backstory Blake gave was Drake's backstory but I didn't mind the Robin bit. In fact I laughed at his reaction to her saying the name knowing that would be most peoples reaction.

Also I worked Talia out quite early on and my thought process went "They can't make fucking Bane into fucking Guhl's son, he has a daughter and it's....oh right that makes sense."

Just saw it. A few thoughts after reading this thread:

1. Let the Robin thing go. It's a nod to a famous character, not saying that he's becoming Robin. He isn't picking up Robin's mantle as there is no mantle to pick up. Robin the sidekick doesn't exist in this universe. He's Batman, and his name is Robin Blake. Nothing more, nothing less.

2. Miranda didn't need to be Talia. It made logical sense and it was a good twist, but it doesn't advance anything. It felt thrown in for the sake of being thrown in, as Bane filled the exact same role as the successor to Raz. Not a bad thing, but unnecessary.

3. It never once crossed my mind that it could be a vision of Alfred's and now that I've read that theory, I don't think it was a vision at all. Bruce escaped, had some money saved up or something, and lives with Selina Kyle in happiness, unless he needs to come back for a sequel which I don't think will happen.

4. Back to Blake: he's fine as the new Batman. He believed in the idea of Batman when almost no one else did, he's a detective, he can fight, and he never gave up during the time Bane took over.

5. I had no idea that was Scarecrow as the judge. Nice touch.

6. Bane's voice was annoying at times as I could barely understand what he was saying. It was also menacing.

7. I didn't like how Bane was killed.

8. Good stuff overall.

9. I'll likely think of more stuff later.

Oh and about Blake figuring out who Batman is......why is that so impressive? Let's think about this for a minute:

Bruce Wayne returns to Gotham and all of a sudden this vigilante with a ton of expensive tech shows up too.

Batman goes away and Bruce Wayne becomes a recluse.

There's a comic book where Gordon says if he wanted to, he could have figured out who Batman was pretty easily. It's really not that big of a deal.

Also Batman falls out of a building and isn't better in 8 years, but they hang him from a rope and shove his vertebrae back into his back and he's better inside of three months?

Also I liked that Bane took over for about three months instead of the whole thing taking place in about five days.

Saw it yesterday. Bane's speech to the public in the football stadium, and especially the way he told them that someone in Gotham had the detonator, gave me chills. Such a brilliant scare tactic, and his voice is just awesome. Nick put it best when he said that Bane was a human that didn't fit with other humans. Everything about him was just off, and it was brilliant that way.

I didn't see Talia coming, but after the reveal happened I felt dumb for not seeing it coming since I knew about Talia Al-Ghul. I just didn't expect them to bring her into this universe.

Was a fun time all in all. Not the best movie ever by any means but worth the wait.

Just saw it. Took me a while to get used to Bane. He's pretty different to me for some reason. Probably the lack of Venon, lucha mask and Cuban accent. But it certainly didn't do wrong. Would've been funny if the kid who stole the apple and was saved by Catwoman was called Jason Todd. And John Daggett ain't got shit on Roland Daggett. Which for the life of me, I just can't get why they didn't name him that instead of just giving him a nod.

Pfft. The Avengers was better? I was surprised by how much I liked The Avengers given how much I fucking hated 3/5 of the films leading up to it, but the goofy ass characters in that movie didn't touch what TDKR brought to the table. I'm not going to analyze plot holes or anything. I can't bring myself to argue with anyone how this movie has more plotholes than a movie about mechanical creatures from another planet coming out of a hole in the sky and attacking the earth.

Loved it. I wasn't bored for a second in that movie and it flowed nicely. Sure, you can nitpick little things but there's no reason to, it was a great movie and is on par with the Dark Knight in my opinion. Bane was awesome, and everyone who complains about his voice needs to get the sand out of their vagina.

A solid ending to the trilogy.

Or stop being lazy and use your ears. I know listening isn't easy, or fast enough for this generation. Not texting or tweeting every seven seconds and being generally anti-social is tough, but come on, people.

Generalizations. I'm here all week.

That works too. I understand his voice was a little muffled but I had no issues understanding him at all. If anything the voice helped his lines even more not hurt it.

I think you may literally be the only person on Earth that is bothered by that.
I wasn't bothered, but I'd be lying if I said the thought didn't occur to me. A clear sign that I didn't spend enough time outdoors as a child.

Don't take your five year old nephew. I suppose that would go for any almost 3 hour film though.

It didn't move slowly for me at all, but I have been watching Breaking Bad recently so the face wasn't ever going to move anything other than faster than that. Bane's voice was amazing. There may have been one or two moments where I didn;t catch what he was saying, but it didn't retract at all.

I really liked it, and can't really think of any particular flaws.

Saw it last night and fuckin' loved it. Probably more than TDK but that has to do with being the last and getting sentimental over it going away. Here are some thoughts:

- RIP Guyliner
- Matthew Modine got to die with honor, now he should have time to film Married to the Mob II
- there is no point to comparing Ledger and Hardy. One was Lechter, the other was Vader.
- the only big spoiler I knew of was that there was a surprise villian, but you knew that was coming due to the "trigger man"
- it was obviously Tate since she was around too much and things kept falling apart
- Bane putting Wayne in the cell made sense, ego is everything to strongest. Sometimes in life you have to hit the People's Elbow on The Rock before you finish him for good.
- I loved how Bane was killed. It was a mix of Indiana Jones pulling out a gun on the guy with a machete and Han Solo coming out of no where to knock Vader out of commission. Anne Hathaway is this generation's Harrison Ford.
- I hated JGL in 500 Days and Inception and the first 60 minutes of this film (stupid accent) but I liked him a lot and in the end he did a great job carrying this film. I may have to take him out of the Leonardo DiCaprio Hall of Overrated Leading Men.
- proof Michael Caine wasn't dreaming, NO TOTEM

Great movie, like Lost all the plotholes can simply be explained by, "GSB, you're too stupid to realize he's fucking Batman and he's better than you!"

Just got around to seeing the movie and I definitely enjoyed it. All the amateur critics in this thread are even more hilarious than the non-spam wrestling sections. Surprised at the JGL hate. I thought he was fantastic and as such had no problem with the ending. The only thing I even cared slightly about was Alfred's actions not necessarily fitting with how I had him characterized in my mind from the previous movies but if I thought about it some more I suppose I could say that was partially the point. Only other things I care to mention at this time: Bane is no more dead than two-face, when the porn comes out where a Hathaway look alike get rode on the bat cycle I will be watching and what if Nolan is done with batman but not with "Robin" ?

Bane's exit bugged me (as did Scarecrow's in the first and Two Face's in the second) It just seemed a bit anti-climatic. They've been building these villains up and then they give them a rather quick exit with no satisfaction

That's how people usually die. People love Nolan's sense of realism. There ya go.

Part of the point of such "exits" is to leave open the possibility of a return without having to hear geeks whine about it.

I think I figured out the issue. This movie was less suspenseful than the previous two and people are wrongly thinking that means it was less psychological.

Do you think it was because Catwoman got the kill and not Batman?

What was your reaction when you watched Star Wars and Han Solo knocked Darth Vader out of no where?
