The Dark Knight: Contains Spoilers

Here it is boys and girls, the official Dark Knight Trailer. It's pretty bad quality, but you can at least see it. I think it "officially" gets released in a few days. I'm really really starting to go nuts for this movie. Heath looks and sounds terrific in my opinion.

Enjoy it before the inevitable youtube yanking starts. Jake, I hope you get to see it before it's pulled.

Well scratch that, youtube is on a witchhunt, so no bother.

Here's something to hold everyone over.
A Taste for the Theatrical

I was twenty minutes too late. WHY!? It's just not fair. Oh well, I'll see it in better quality when it's officially released anyway. My anticipation is as high as ever now. Oddly enough, I'm still not in the possession of any Batman comics.

Now those are proper posters. I think I might have to update my living room art. Goodbye expensive canvase longe prints. Hello Batman posters.

I wasn't going to watch the prologue on You Tube anyway. I've found out where the closest IMAX is and I was going to make the trip anyway. I didn't want to spoil it by watching a shitty, shakey version before hand.

I've gone to another forum and read opinions on which is worth seeing more, the trailer or the prologue. From what I've read, people have been blown away by the trailer more so then the prologue. The IMAX screenings don't have the trailer playing in front of it, only the prologue.

If you're looking for Joker, Joker, Joker then just watch the regular version of I Am Legend and watch the trailer. I'm leaning towards it, because the IMAX footage is going to be in the film anyway. Tough call though.

Really poor quality. Don't know how long it'll stay up. But It still looks awesome. That could be the most mout watering trailer ever. Heath Ledger seems to have got The Joker down perfectly. He isn't The Clown Prince Of Crime like Jack Nicholson or Cesar Romero. He's definitely The Killing Joke/r.

Considering a Why So Serious? tattoo.

Oh my fucking God. I'm now pretty much convinced of three things: a) This movie's going to be awesome, probably the best all year considering the recent quality of blockbusters that aren't Batman/James Bond related b) It's going to be more action-packed than the first one, but is sacrificing none of the drama c) Heath Ledger is going to be a great Joker, and one that I find just a little bit creepy. Just one thing, this Joker seems considerably tougher than previous versions, even standing in front of the Batcycle if I saw it properly. Isn't that a little bit too detached? Still, it looks fucking great. Fuck.

I'm kinda digging this Joker and his ballsiness. The over the top yet cowardly Joker that can't take a punch always gets on my nerves If they are going in a different direction, then why not make this Joker a bit more physical.

The trailer looks amazing, and the face of the Joker after the "Commissioner" line is crazy as all hell. The Like Me is so reminiscent of the Animated Series. This movie is going to own all.

Man, this movie is looking great. Don't let us down, Nolan!

Saw the trailer last night before I am Legend and its sick. I wasn't so sure about Heath being Joker but it all looked good. Sux the movie is still so far away but what can you do?

If Jake gets the tat, you gotta post it. Thats cool shit.

On another note, In I am legend, one of the billboards in time square has a the Bat sign with the Superman "S" in it. Hmmmmm.....

It's up officially now. I do actually find Ledger's Joker genuinely creepy, and I think his character will have some actual depth unlike a lot of the character's Hollywood shit out nowadays. I'm also now 90% sure that Ledger is perfect for the role of The Joker. He's sinister, he's got the laugh, he comes across as fucking insane, but... I watched A Knight's Tale last night or the night before.

I don't see the point in removing a shitty, grainy version of the trailer off You Tube. Then posting a better version a few days later. The bad version had 5 stars. Which means people are excited to see the film. You would think that Warner would be happy with the feedback.

From the looks of the trailer the 2nd Batman & Harvey Dent wont be playing to big a part in that one. Isn't the sequel to this one due out in 2009? Similar to how they dis The Matrix & Pirates.

I didn't hear anything about that quick of a turnaround for Batman 3, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing it that way. Supposedly the Joker gives Two-Face his smile in the 2nd one, so I'm guessing the third one will mostly be Dent going crazy and Batman trying to keep him from killing the Joker. It would make sense then to film the two at the same time.

Plus Bale has signed on to do the new Terminator Trilogy, so he's going to be booked for a while. Personally I prefer Bale for Batman over Terminator, but that's life I guess.

Those of you who are worried that the latest Dark Knight trailer has shown all the good bits, feat not - Chris Nolan a few more tricks to pull out of his cowl.

Speaking to Variety's Anne Thompson, Nolan reminded us that Harvey Dent, barely seen in the trailer, is a major player in the movie.

But the big story is Nolan's revelation that the flick will be a 'character-driven PG' - which, considering how creepy Heath's Joker looks in the footage we've seen so far, is a bit of a surprise. And we can't remember the last character-piece which contained so many explosions.

What? Come on a PG? Why? Please make this AT LEAST a 12. The last was fine. Make it just as dark, if not darker. I really don't know how you can have the psycho version of The Joker if it has a childs rating. The only way that rating will work is if he's more of a clown version.

Like everyone i was worried that Ledger would ruin the Joker, but after seeing some trailers and previews, I must say im pleasently suprised.

I totally understand the direction they are going with series of films now. Definatly more true to life and less campy.

the Joker is easily my favorite comic book character for plently of reason. He is so much more multi-dimensional than other villians or even the heroes themeselves. The fact that his sanity has been questioned so much that it has been clasiffied as a sort of super-sanity is amazing. A mind that recreatesd itself based on the present and the near future and is so aware of his mental instability that it gives him awareness that no one else posseses.

Im obviously super stoked on it.

I do find it interesting how they wanted to cast Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot aka The Penguin. But they decided against including him in the film as Nolan felt the character of the penguin was to campy for the version the wanted and he didnt know how he would pull of a more true to life representation of him.

It wont let me cut 'n' paste. But I noticed after about the 2nd time (out of 100) of watching the trailer that Aaron Eckhart is nowhere to be seen. To be honest I though he would have a pretty average sized rolein this. And in the third he'd be the main villain.

I hope that Cillian Murphy doesn't play too big a part. I dont want a villain overload. I'd probably have The Jpker kill him off. If he'll kill another bad guy especially the main one from the previous film, it'll make him look more evil. And superior.

I cannot believe I havent posted anything about this movie yet and yet I am the biggest Batman fan. Anyways, I think heath Ledger was the perfect casting role to play the Joker...the very fact that he even studied the role and learned how to do the voice impresses me. Christian Bale already impresses me and is the best Batman. I agree with Jake, I hope they have Joker kill off Scarecrow that would make him more evil but I would not worry, Joker is going to be really evil in this one so I am sure he will kill lots of people...

Shit it is True. This is a Huge Shame. But You can guarantee that the movie will be dedicated to the memory of both Heath Ledger and the Stunt Coordinator Guy that died during production. But from what we have seen this may be Heath Ledgers best movie, he got the attitude of the Joker down in the stuff we have seen. But this is a true shame as it will go unrecognised if it is by an Oscar nomination or win.

Fucking A, this totally sucks dick. I mean seriously, the guy is uber talented and shit like this happens. Oh well, the good die young I guess.

The only think that will be effected wil probably be some of the viral marketing. It's a true shame that this happened, because this role is probably going to define the man.

Well I think as far as legacy goes, this movie is going to be it for the man. i think he is going to reach icon status because of this, which hey, the legacy can't be to bad.

That's what haoppens when you take drugs. I think there illegal for a reason. I'm more concerned about the film. I mean really what will happen? Is it finished, what happens to the third one etc. Sounds selfish but I don't really have any sympathy for drug addicts.

me neither, but from what I've read so far, there was nothing illegal there, it was simply over the counter sleeping pills, and there was supposedly no alcohal involved. It will be interesting to see the autopsy report. I don't have sympathy for drug abusers either, so if he loaded up and died, thats on him.

As far as the movie goes, I think they finished principal photography and the movie I think is in post production. Any new add ins will probably be digitally added in. As far as the third one, who knows, that's going to be interesting what they'll do there.

They are finished the film, there in post production now, shame he cant do another one though,it looked like he done the joker great.

He had told reporters he couldn't sleep at night because of how dark a character The Joker was. As an actor, I understand how emotionally and mentally stressful it can be to play a character so drastically different from yourself. When I first read some of his methods for getting into character, and how dedicated he was to making the Joker an evil, sadistic, unlikable villain, I wondered how he would handle the emotional toll. But I assumed he was quite a professional and it wouldn't bother him too much. I wouldn't be surprised if it was this performance that sent him over the edge. Anyone who knows anything about The Joker from the comic books, not the cartoons, knows how truly a dark and evil character he is. And the fact that such a dedicated method actor was using The Killing Joke, one of the darkest Batman stories in the enitre collective works, its not surprising he began to have personal problems. This would be a shocking death anyways, but the fact that he was protraying The Joker at the time makes his death much darker and mysterious. Just thinking that The Joker may have killed a real person sends a shiver down my spine.

I honestly think that those reports are bullshit in my opinion, probably originated by some idiot on TMZ that their moronic fanbase believes all gossip as legit news. Heath Ledger comes across as someone a little more of control of himself then that. I heard that stuff this morning and couldn't keep from laughing.

If that is the case then hell yes I'm going to be seeing this movie and camping out for it. If the guy taht played the character drove himself mad then how good can the character be?
