Christian, I knowe the feeling, and I can relate on so many levels, man. Here's what I'd say, man;
Fuck Everyone Else
Sure, people may talk. Hell, it means that they see you two working, in some way. If they didn't, no one would talk about it. and even if they do talk about it, if the girl likes you, she won't care one bit who's talking. I am a rising junior in college, and the girl I'm seeing now just graduated. Sure, people talked about and thought it was weird. But we didn't care, because we knew how happy we felt with one another, and we didn't care.
Don't Worry About Reprecussions
It's work, and you don't want your personal life and work too involved with one another. But if she's a professional, she won't let it get in the ways of doing your job. No one that isn't a vengeful person lets their professional life and personal life get too intertwined, and makes them act differently at work. My guess is that she realizes this, and will probably be sure to act cordial, even if things don't work.
Always Take That Chance
There's a break, and you don't want to take it?
Well, if she's going to the water cooler, so do you. Not every time, because that's merely creepy, but enough times. First maybe in groups of people you work with, so that your personality can flash out the most. Then, maybe once or twice, try to focus on her while you talk. Have the same personality, but still talk to her in the group. Then, one day, just ask her if you want to spend your lunch break together, or go get lunch.
And finally, and most importantly
Don't Act Too Different
I'm not going to say "be yourself", because we all have moments that we just can't be that. All I'm saying is to, sure, act a bit different, but not completely different. Because your friends may just call you out. But acting a bit different may work a bit, and who knows? Maybe it'll force her to play her hand a bit.
Anyway, that's what I offer. Besides my traditional "good luck"
