It never looked like they were actually ever trying to "revive" the division at all. They were just using the hype to make things more interesting. Kofi and Bourne will be broken up in a matter of time. It's just like all tag teams.

No, the tag team revival is not a flop. It only started recently, but has already provided us with more tag team action than we'd seen for a while before it. I mean, the tag team champions, Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne, got a Pay-Per-View title defense and had what was one of the better matches on the card. That in and of itself is astounding, considering the tag titles had been pushed to nothing more than an occasional Raw defense.

You have to give it time. People are way too impatient with this type of stuff. Sure, we haven't gotten a huge change yet, but we've gotten some great stuff.

Let's be honest... They've revived it several times, but every time they try to get it going, people lose interest straight away. That's just the way it is.

The tag team division should be treated like every other division, but instead of pushing several teams so that the division can sustain itself, they push one team and expect people to be interested in watching teams that mean nothing.

Things have changed, you can't put new unfamiliar faces into the division anymore and expect people to be interested. Nowadays they've boosted the division with guys like Kofi, Bourne, Miz, Truth, Ziggler and Swagger so that you'll actually WANT to watch the matches. You need this variety of big name teams so that the division can sustain itself.

Take the Hart Dynasty, they had HUGE pops for awhile, and then it all slowed down because there were no other big tag teams around for them to face in order to keep their steam going. After awhile they had to resort to putting them in the ring against guys like Jericho in cage matches to keep people interested. (Also, to be fair, alot of people gave them a huge pop because they confused their music with Bret Hart's)

More or less, I think the division will be fine as long as these big name teams stick around, and perhaps help push some of the other teams like the Uso's.

Otunga & McGillicutty were actually a better team than most of the teams we see forming on NXT. The only issue I have with how they were booked was that they should have kept the Nexus look.

A reunited Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder would've been much better than Hawkins current pairing with Tyler Reks, who to be honest, should be being built up as a singles star, even maybe as as a new challenger to Cena now that Cena's been reduced to a glorified midcarder ever since Triple H returned. Ryder had been name dropping Hawkins on his show quite a few times. Despite Ryder getting more and more TV time and getting a few lucky wins over the U.S. Champion Dolph Ziggler, I don't see him getting a REAL push any time soon.

Ziggler/Swagger have potential as a team, but they along with Miz & Truth are way too deep in this Triple H angle to be any help to the tag division. I think Air Boom does have longevity even as a thrown together team, but that's only probably because neither man could make a believable heel turn.

I don't see Miz & Truth lasting past the Royal Rumble. Their main event aspirations are what drove them crazy to begin with and would probably lead them to turn on each other. Also Miz is long overdue for a face turn, and an Awesome Truth breakup would be the perfect catalyst for it. Miz's media work could lead to Truth accusing him of being part of the alleged conspiracy.

I hardly think it's fair to call the tag team "revival", such as it is, a flop. Look at the state of the titles between the reigns of Hennig/Otunga and Air Boom. When Otunga and Hennig had them, they were barely even on Raw unless it was to job once a month, and certainly not on PPV. Air Boom wins them, and the team is on Raw every week. They've been on two PPVs in a row defending the titles, which has been practically unheard of since the days of JeriShow. This is good, forward movement for the tag team division.

There's also the teams of Ziggler/Swagger, Hawkins/Reks, and the Usos hanging around, with Miz and Truth potentially when they get re-signed. How many teams existed to challenge Otunga and Hennig? Zero? That's about right.

So, I can't see how one makes the connection of featured champions, PPV defenses, and four potential challenging teams to a failure at all.
