Stupid Spam Rules

I don't see what the problem is with the Spamming Rule being relaxed. The thing that nobody knows (because I never mentioned it) is that the strict spamming rule was never intended to be permanent, when I took over here the place was an absolute mess, Luther and Jake will probably remember and to clean the forums up we decided at the time that strict spam rules needed to come in. Then it kind of became a staple within the forums, and Wrestlezone got an identity from it so I kinda just went with it.

I can see the upside, there is the obvious financial benefits for the owners (which to be fair the regular posters care nothing for) but if the forum is bringing in more money then it's safe from being done away with entirely. There's also the fact that future good posters will come here as spammers and get better and go on to be respected posters.

Actually, I did know that. May have been from Luther.

I know how you feel, I've been saying the same thing for a while. Just keep going on, and do the best you can. Fortunately, he only gave you some warnings, and not full infractions, so it really isn't that big of a deal.

Also, this is the Bar Room, so it's ok to have spam messages in here.

Tool.

NSL 4 Bitch Wing. Seriously.

I'll let Spunky handle this one:

For venting his frustration's on the new rules?

You could lead be example and post quality posts, just a thought...

I posted quite a bit over the weekends...Mostly in threads started by regulars, that weren't full of nonsense.

I rarely read posts that are that long, I useally skip over that majority of long posts, where as I am more willing to read posts that are a simple paragragh

Your patience is not the guidelines of the forums. Just because you don't like reading long posts, doesn't mean everyone should keep their posts short to keep you happy. Length doesn't determine a good post, but it works better for discussion. The threads I've seen that are full of short crap, don't have discussion, just people posting a sentence to state their point. Yes, this is what WZ (and Sly) want, but it isn't helping drive discussion.

Shit like this is what causes people to leave the forums, seriously why would a poster want to post here if they are just going to be attacked and belittled by a mod:disappointed:

I'll agree with people leaving because of the drama, but not the attacking and belittling by mods. Some people deserve it, and if that's why they leave, they need to take off the diaper, and put on some big boy pants.

Then why is discussion at a high that hasn't been seen since before I started posting on these boards.

Maybe it's not YOUR kind of discussion, but discussion is most certainly happening at a good rate.

High number of posts =/= High number of discussions

I won't deny the number of posts have gone up, but I still don't like them. Most of the people I saw posting crap have either slowly stopped posting, ended up in Shawshank (JakeDHS07), or have been banned (h-man01 or whatever). There are a few that are, and have been decent posters, but I still see that 95% of the better posts, and threads, are coming from the regulars.

Of corse they are, thats the way it always will be. I started out a spammer, just look at all of my infractions. But after talking to Sly/IC25 a bit, I learned, and picked up on somethings.....Its not hard, and they will soon be regulars too. This new relaxed spam is simple, it brings in new posters, for the older ones to mentor, without them being banned. Because they are so strict.

There already has been one person banned, and one put in Shawshank (as far as I've seen). A number of the other newer posters haven't returned, at least to post anyway.

Not really. Its just saying, coal comes and goes, but it takes tens of thousands of years to make a diamond from coal. Thats the way you should look at posters, they are our coal. We are time. Lets make them diamonds :D (This analogy fails.)

Luckily, we have both.

Then you're just intentionally being blind to the truth. Hell, the best threadstarter in a long time is PlayTheGame.

Most of the people who have been banned, were banned for alts.

Just saying. I think only one person has received any kind of time away from the forum because of a reason other than spam.

And the person in Shawshank flamed a Global Moderator. Hardly a new thing.

He has made some decent threads, but they're hardly all new ideas. He's one of the better posters I've seen lately.

I don't know why they're banned, I just see that they all have lines through their names. The poster that flamed a G-Mod was one of the first that I noticed posting crap.

LOL, what kind of new ideas can you expect on wrestling?

I can't remember seeing ANY threads on WZ in the last year that I haven't seen before.

And it was taken care of, right?

I've been here 2+ months, you've been here way longer. Of course you've seen them all. I'm saying that I've seen some fairly recently. Either as a thread, or as a major point in a thread. I'm not saying there's a problem with them, just that they're not "new".

And it was taken care of, right?

Yes. But, not for his crappy posting.

I just made a wrestling thread because the stigma of time involvement was removed in my mind. I've made more posts this week than I have ever made in the past.

Some were in the WrestleZone tourney area.:)

Has anyone else noticed the flood of new threads lately?

Gawd it can be annoying sometimes.

That was a pretty good thread. Hope it works

You being a smart ass doesn't change my stance.
