I hate how everytime a wrestler is released some of you all go out of your way to rub salt in their wounds.. Like with Gail Kim.. Anytime a wrestler wants to offer WWE some food for thought like with David Hart Smith we all of a sudden hear everyone screaming how they should be grateful for the time and fat pay they got. None of this takes cobsideration of the fact that any real man and real athlete strives for respect and posses self respect. It seems like the vultures swoop in and they just love to ramble on and on about mic skills and charisma. The fact of the matter is WWE makes too many releases, is too impatiant, down right illogical in its dealings with tag specialists, and gives unbalanced pushes.

I kept seeing how you people kept cutting down Shelton Benjamin for being bland and too collegiate or whatever but he started out as a member of the Minnesota Stretching Crew with Brock Lesner and I wonder how the latter gets all the claps when they both have identical back grounds, amatour and pro..

If you noticed it too, speak out HERE. Tell me who the wrestler was they ragged on and tell me of other similar wrestlers who they gave a pass too. I do not think any of them would tell Lou Thesz to work on his mic work but i guess the real athletes these days have no voice because outcomes are predetermined and spoiled fans feel like the monkeys on type writers out rank a guy like Benjamin or D.H. who have got the muscle to take down whatever kayfabe clown his holding the belt, outside of the ring..

I dont want to hear from the criticts because we always hear your mouth but you may vote on the poll.

Are you forgetting that WWE is a scripted TV show in which performers perform for eager fans? If it was about who was the better actual athlete, then I think the competitor should have entered MMA and not wrestling. I don't know what you're really trying to get at with this post. If you're not creating interest with the fans and not stretching out to up your game and earn your place, you're not going to make it. It doesn't matter if you can jump onto the top rope from the canvas or if your dad was the British Bulldog. Your entertainment value is important. Brock had more of that than Shelton, and it's not even like Shelton had a bad tenure at WWE.

I don't know why you're so damn angry.

If you need to be educated on how Brock Lesnar gets "all" the claps as you put it and Shelton gets slighted for being bland then obviously you're mentally challenged.

Obviously their both great wrestlers in their own right, obviously their backgrounds are identical hell even their hard work ethics are the same but what sets Brock Lesnar apart is that he has the look, the name and attitude that pretty much sets them apart.
Shelton always come off like a good guy, his name makes him sound like he should be in the boy scouts and he doesn't have that fearsome look like Lesnar had.

Plus WWE invested a lot in Lesnar, whereas Shelton they knew as did we he'd be around for as long as WWE wanted.

WWE is too impatient? Are you kidding me right now? They've been pretty damn patient with guys like Christian and Mark Henry don't ya think? Hell, they kept Henry around for 15 years turning him into a World Champion.

They aren't illogical with tag teamers, they just don't have much use for them. They're rebuilding the division, but their vision for it is different than what yours is, apparently. The Hart Dynasty, specifically David Hart Smith, had run its course. They kept Tyson Kidd around, who is slowly becoming a mid card guy. He put on some great matches, but more than that -- they saw something in him.

As for your unbalanced pushes argument: You're wrong here too. Just because they don't push who YOU want doesn't mean it's unbalanced. They push guys like Mark Henry, then on the flip side push a Daniel Bryan. They push whoever has a future with them, simple enough. Zack Ryder of all people got a push.

Are you really comparing the two of them? Just because they started together doesn't mean they should be equally praised. Brock Lesnar had "it," Shelton never did. Lesnar became a multiple time World Champion, the hottest thing in the wrestling business, did Shelton Benjamin ever do that? Nope... and it wasn't from a lack of opportunity either. He got many a mid card title, hell, he even went over Triple H a few times, CLEAN. He just never proved to have anything else.

Do you know what's worse than people moaning in my opinion? People moaning about people moaning. If you don't like it don't come on the site.

Probably going to get another infraction or warning for this response but, oh well....

Please follow these steps:
1. Shut up
2. Repeat step 1

I see what you're saying, but honestly the biggest morons when it comes to WWE releases are the idiots who jump all over the WWE. "I can't believe they released him/her!" "This is a huge mistake!" "Why didn't they release ___ instead?" "They should have given him/her a better gimick!" "They should release the creative team instead!" etc. The morons that act like WWE just randomly decides who to push and who not to, and who succeeds and who fails.

Give me a break. I'm not going to claim the WWE doesn't make mistakes, but the fact of the matter is they are very few and far between. The fact of the matter is at least 99% of workers the WWE has released deserved it completely.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not creative's job to make everybody a star - and it's not their fault when not everybody is a star. It's all on the workers. It is the worker's responsbility to get the crowd to notice them and react to them. No, they don't have to have a great look or great charisma or be great in the ring or anything else. All they have to do is entertain the crowd. Connect with the crowd. Make the crowd want to see them, and make people want to see them on TV. That's all you have to do. Whether you do that by looking great, being great in the ring, being great on the mic, or some combination of those...that's all you have to do. If you do that, the WWE will use you. If you don't, they won't. It's simple.

The worst is the idiots that cry about the WWE not giving somebody a push or a good gimmick. Stop it! They don't "give" pushes or gimmicks. Those things are earned. Look at Steve Austin...he was stuck with a terrible gimmick, but he made it work. He connected with the crowd and he was rewarded with a better gimmick and a hell of a push. Same with The Rock(Rocky Maivia), Triple H(Hunter Hearst-Helmsley), and countless other wrestlers that have succeeded in this business.

It's a lot like professional sports. A basketball team isn't going to sign a guy off the street and play him 48 minutes a game with the ball in his hands on every play. You earn your playing time and you earn your plays. If you make the most of the time you're on the court, you're going to get more playing time. If you don't, you're going to get less playing time or maybe get cut.

Same in professional wrestling. If creative puts a guy in the ring, they've done their job. At that point, regardless of his gimmick or anything else, all that guy has to do is give them a reason to put him back out there. If he does, they will. If he doesn't, they won't. And that's how guys end up getting cut. Saying creative doesn't have anything for them is just a nice way of saying they sucked and didn't give creative anything to do with them.

They never told someone like Chris Benoit to work on his in-ring skills but his mike/promo work sure needed some improving so, yeah, I could see them saying something like that, even to a Lou Thesz, if they didn't think his personality was coming across on the big stage.

And I think you'll have your way with the criticts not responding in this thread...simply because there's no such thing as criticts...critics on the other hand....well, they're entitled to have a moan at someone bitching about them bitching..

Fucking douche bag!

Gail Kim and Hart Smith are not telling a big fat lie when they say they were not treated fairly.

But both of them should keep their mouth's shut when it comes to their release. The fact of the matter is that WWE is the biggest overall brand in Wrestling and if Hart Smith was given the oppertunity to start all over again and maybe get a push this time....he would bite off Johnny Ace's hand!

The Diva's division is a nightmare and they are not given enough air time to make their feuds or matches worth while.
Hart Smith was part of a Tag Division that was not getting enough recognition....but hell he was still on TV and was still the Tag team champion. The Hart V Uso Feud was not over enough.... Tyson Kidd was clearly the more talented of the two....and something had to give.
At that point there was no space for David Hart Smith in any other way but as a jobber on superstars....he clearly wanted more and may or may not have been given an oppertunity later on when other feud's and pushes were out of the way...thats how WWE works.

So I do not agree with this thread whatsoever..... You dont bite the hand that feeds you ( I should not have used that Johny Ace refrance before). Hart Smith, Gail Kim and Chris Masters all have an Open door to some back to WWE if a spot for them is ever available.... and they are shooting themselves in the foot if they think its wise to badmouth the Heavyweight business in Pro-Wrestling when they may regret it in the future.

Anytime a wrestler wants to offer WWE some food for thought like with David Hart Smith we all of a sudden hear everyone screaming how they should be grateful for the time and fat pay they got.

I didnt hear anyone scream about the fat pay or the gratitude Hart should show- All i read was people discussing how Hart is a dime a dozen-which he is. He's a good worker and easily replaceable. And you felt Gail Kim was a good example to use here? She had such an inflated sense of self-worth that she eliminated herself from a battle royal on Live TV, then when faced with consequences, quit. Whether she was underultilized or underappreciated isn't the issue- She was unprofessional.

Both have the right to their opinion, and to voice it how they choose. But they come across as malcontents, and not someone Id want to employ in my company if I were taking a look at them, unless they were a standout talent. Smith is and likely always will be bland, and Gail is a wrestler in a division WWE doesn't put much stock inmto. She knew that when she re-signed with them.
None of this takes cobsideration of the fact that any real man and real athlete strives for respect and posses self respect. It seems like the vultures swoop in and they just love to ramble on and on about mic skills and charisma.

Because both mic skills and charisma are incredibly important in the sports entertainment business. So many people like you see the Wrestling in WWE and forget about the Entertainment part of it. Unless you're a stand-out wrestler, you're not going to make it without a modicum of both. It has nothing to do with disrespecting them or denying a wrestler their self-respect, it's about having an opinion. Just as Smith, Gail Kim, and others have the right to put their opinions out there, we as members of the IWC have the right to dissect those opinions, and determine in our own minds whether they be right or wrong. That doesn't make us right or wrong, just people with opinion.

The fact of the matter is WWE makes too many releases, is too impatiant, down right illogical in its dealings with tag specialists, and gives unbalanced pushes.

Impatient with who? There's not alot of choices at times. As has always been, the main rosters are already overcrowded and you see men who don't get on TV for weeks at a time. So they're costing a company money just to sit there, essentially. Im not sure about you, but in my eyes, thats not exactly cost-effective. So as any company does, they determine who they believe is going to be of long-term value and has potential and they work with them, and they let go of those they dont view similarly. Its as simple as that, to be honest.

I dont want to hear from the criticts because we always hear your mouth but you may vote on the poll.

Thats not the way this forum thing works. If you have an opinion, expect it to be challenged by by those who disagree. If that's too much for you to handle, don't put your opinion out there. Simple as that.

I agree with this thread. I was little amazed at all the bashing of DH Smith simply becauser he pointed out that he wasn't given a chance to prove what he could do, how the hell is he going to develop his character or personality if he's barely given T.V time or angles to work with? Remember Zeke and Mason Ryan have zero personailty and limited ring skills to boot, yet they've both been given ample T.V time and angles to work with. If WWE an put effort into getting a fucking midget and Khali over, why not DH Smith or Tyson Kidd? I also remember people bashing Gail Kim calling her boring, yet I asked myself, how is she any more boring than Eve who constanly on T.V?

Oops.

Im guessing that vision is "people who are slightly more over than a parking ticket" hence getting rid of DH, and the Hart Dynasty in general

I couldn't disagree more with the OP. No one acts like a moron when these people get released. If anything, people may tend to make strongly worded opinions, but generally only after the released wrestler has been shooting his/her mouth off unnecessarily, thereby bringing heat upon themselves and burning bridges all along the way.

Take Gail Kim for example. She got released and no one really cared. In fact people probably hardly noticed. Then she starting running her mouth, on the Internet and upon her arrival in TNA, and so people then ended to voice her displeasure with her. I'm not sure who was the moron, Gail herself who didn't complain while she was drawing a fat paycheque for doing next to nothing, and only chose to complain afterwards, or the fans who became annoyed with her for her outspoken negativity.

Harry Smith is another one who, as far as I read, was receiving little negative commentary from fans upon his release. In fact, he probably had the possibility of a return at some point. Now he's running his about how unfairly he was treated, and the fans are responding accordingly.

Lots of people have left WWE and kept their mouths shut, and most of them receive little grief from fans. It's only once people boo hoo about how unjust their WWE experience was, do they draw the ire of WWE fans.

Gail Kim knew what she was getting into, when she decided to sign with WWE, so I have no sympathy for her. Kim was chasing a bigger paycheck, but she started to whine and complain, when her time was up, and her self-elimination during the Divas battle royal on Raw was one of the most childish acts I've ever seen. She was unprofessional, and Kim actually believes she did the right the thing. Kim is highly overrated, and her enormous ego is unbelievable.

DH Smith was as bland and boring as they come. The Hart Dynasty had a nice run as a tag team, but Smith didn't bring anything to the table as a singles wrestler. Being the son of The British Bulldog was his only bragging right, because he was an instant channel changer. Smith just sounded like one of the many wrestlers, who bitched and moaned, when they didn't get the super push they thought they deserved. Smith was dead weight on the WWE roster, and his criticisms on how he was used in WWE don't sound reasonable at all.

And your Brock Lesnar/Shelton Benjamin comparison is laughable. Lesnar had the look of main eventer, and he was very believable as an unstoppable and viscous monster. Lesnar was hot when he was on top, he main evented many pay per views (including Wrestlemania 19), and he was a three time world champion. WWE gave Shelton Benjamin more than enough chances, but he was never able to get over. They tried to push Shelton, but the crowds didn't give a damn about him. He was boring, Benjamin didn't have a the "wow" factor, and his athletic skills and amateur background didn't do him any favors.

I also don't understand this "WWE is too impatient" stuff. You can only give a wrestler so many chances to get over, and you can't blame WWE, if the live crowds don't care about them. Other wrestlers, who do have some value need more TV time, because they need a chance. It wouldn't make sense to keep pushing a certain wrestler over and over again so many times. If they can't get over, or they don't show any signs of improvement, then they need to go.

Gail Kim and other wrestlers, who leave on bad terms aren't giving WWE "food for thought." They're trying to save face by trashing the company that gave them the boot. Most of these wrestlers sound like cry babies, who have sour grapes, and these loses haven't come back to bite WWE over the past few years, so they must be doing something right. And you shouldn't post, if you don't want to hear the mouths of the critics. This is a pro wrestling forum, and people come here to discuss different topics, and everyone isn't going to agree with your opinions.

Are we forgetting about Zeke and MAson Ryan being pushed DESPITE getting zero fan reaction? Also it's funny that people are saying that DH Smith is bitching when he simply stated a fact, he wasn't used as much as other talent was. He didn't bury WWE and call them names, he simply said he wished he had been given the same chance's as Drew and Sheamus. If you worked for a company and felt you had something to offer, wouldn't you be a little fustrated if never given the chance? Austin, rock and many of the other top guys didn't become legends over night, in fact both Rock and Austin were considered bland when they first debut in WWE. Rock even had the fans turn on him when he was supposed to be a face, and Austin couldn't get a reaction at all. Point is WWE stuck with with them and didn't give up and look how that turned out in the long run. Also I don't remember Brock cutting any great promo's or having much of a personailty, yet WWE highlighted his strong suits (natural ability, look and size) and hid his weak points by giving him a mouth piece (Heyman). You really think Brock would have got over in mid-card hell or being left off T.V for long periods of time?

Big Zeke and Mason Ryan have been given no more time than Hart Smith and Kidd were when they were TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS.... and where is Zeke now? on superstars until another oppertunity comes along.... just where Hart Smith was.
Your argument.... is invalid.

I dont really like Gail or find her hot but people were just calling her useless and worthless and that was way out of line and off topic. That is usually were threads about a release go. I think a wrestler would know more about what they need to do in a wrestling company then you boneheads..

LSN80 if you ran a company you would release them to save money? If i worked for your company and saw you hiring wrestlers all the time you couldnt really afford i would question the credentials of the business school you attended and your comptence..

And obviously i anticipated feed back from the people who i told to stay clear of the thread. It was like the command counterpart to a rhetorical question.

As far as my vision of the tag team divison is concerned its quite rudementry. Tag teams who tag alot competing for tag team titles and getting a few main event slots.. So to the guy who said WWE was not meeting my vision if thats wrong i would like you and WWE to tell me whats right

Fact of the matter is the WWE is in one of the toughest industries around, the entertainment business, and if someone isn't bringing in the cheddar then they not only deserve to be cut out, they are expected to be.

You complain about unbalanced pushes and illogical releases, but last time I checked WWE was in the black, and their product was doing just fine.

Probably because Brock was a fantastic wrestlers that had a better look and gimmick than Shelton Benjamin.

This isn't the sports industry. This is the entertainment industry. Just because the performers in the WWE put their bodies at risk doesn't make them professional athletes. It makes them professional entertainers with one of the more dangerous jobs in the business.
