Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 The Game

I played the original Smackdown games on PS1, and that shit was dank back in the day. I played the PS2 ones, and the game just kept getting better. The pinnacle of the series for me was Here Comes the Pain! on PS2. That was just a perfect wrestling game I thought. Since moving onto the current gen consoles, I feel like the game has just slowly gone down hill to me.

But with seeing this year's game, it seems like Yukes is really stepping their game up. I love the new physics, and the wrestlers look great. I also love how the moves aren't pre-determined. In the middle of a move, you can move, spin, turn, etc. So you don't have to sit there for 5 minutes trying to chokeslam a guy through a table. Also, the new WWE Universe feature sounds fucking amazing.

Pretty stoked for this year's edition.

I buy every edition of SDvR anyway, so it's not like the features make a shite sight bit of difference to me, but i do like that they're going back to they style they used in.... um.... which ever one it was where you could walk backstage and get in random conversations/fights, but there was more than 3 matches to the entire storyline.

But apparently it's going to be so much more in depth than that. So like, if i walk up to Miz and smash his face in, i need to constantly be aware that i might get attacked by Miz, even if i'm in a title fued. And if i go and find JoMo and ask him to lend a hand he might save my ass during a No DQ match some time...... (hah, like i'd need his help beating two guys when it's No DQ)

Plus i also like that the computer will automatically save your match highlights instead of me having to try and pick them out. But i doubt that Create-A-Finisher will have improved dramatically. When i can make a somersault Tombstone off the top rope, then it'll be the ultimate Create-A-Finisher.

I think thats the most arenas to have ever been featured in a Smackdown Vs. Raw game. Honestly, to me, it's the little improvements that matter. Since we're getting an NXT arena, I assume we're getting Nexus, and hopefully Daniel Bryan. Hopefully, this one isnt as big of a fail that past games were, and it goes back to the simplicity of SvR 2006, and 2007. Those were great. I'm excited for this game.

This will probably be the only game i will play for months on end due to its high level of playability and customization, and the new features, revamp features and small changes will make it a great experience.

None of this has been officially confirmed by THQ or anyone else, so unless there's a link, I'd take it with a grain of salt. In particular, I saw the screen and while it looks legit, I don't think it can be simply because why would No Way Out and Elimination Chamber arenas be in? Highly unlikely so I won't believe it till I see it.

Anyway, I also saw yesterday that they are bringing back the "Free-Roaming" backstage area. This was always a favorite of mine in Samckdown HCTP. I'm glad theyre bringing it back. Also, I really hope that they are bringing GM Mode back because that was a lot of fun.

If you buy the game in October, you get a a coupon that allows you to download the first DLC free. That includes Chris Masters, and Halloween outfits for both Kelly Kelly, and Rey Mysterio. Pretty cool stuff.

Its fake i saw this ages ago. Its fake because it has last years Royal Rumble graphic, No way out 2009 was in last year and backlash 2009 was in last year the rest will be in no doubt its just them 3 which are a bit dodgey.

Yea I've seen that before. It appears upon first sight to be legit but if you examine it closer you'll notice that NWO and EC are the only original ppv and replacement to both be in (no HIAC and No Mercy in other words).
Then as has been stated, a couple of the arenas don't have the correct logo, but the previous year's.

Don't get me wrong, I would beyond excited and glad to have that lineup of arenas, but until it's official I wouldn't bet on it.

Another thing that I would like to see in a Smackdown game is unlockable previously taped matches. Complete certain missions, or win at the monthly PPV and you unlock a match that could be either a main event match taped at a house show, or before Raw/Smackdown. Or even a match that has already aired on TV or a PPV.

Randy Orton has at least 4 alt attires. By the ref picture I don't think Orton has a RTWM so maybe the brought Special Referee back, love the match plus it could really help in story designer.

THQ will hit you with a fee for online play if you pick up "WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011" used, but they want to give things if you decide to pre-order. Pay attention, too, because your wrestling allegiances may play a role in determining where you buy the new title. Feelings about Bret Hart, for instance, could attract or repel shoppers at Best Buy.

THQ's press release doesn't mention whether or not he'll be wearing cutoff jean shorts, but it does state the "The Hitman" will "be a playable character for consumers who pre-order the game for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft or the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system at Best Buy in the United States, as well as at any major retailer throughout Canada."

Alternatively, 360 and PS3 copies pre-ordered at Toys"R"Us will come equipped with the "Undertaker's "Ministry of Darkness" gear, whereas Amazon.com has received three special outfits for Randy Orton, and Walmart has an exclusive "Tribute to the Troops" arena.

Best Buy and Walmart definitely seem to have nabbed the most compelling incentives here. Costumes rarely sway me one way or the other, though jean shorts for Hart could seal the deal for me if they're available in his locker room.

Every item listed here will be included with purchases at their respective retailers "while supplies last," the press release states, and yes, apparently virtual clothing and playable wrestlers are in limited supply.

That really sucks I wanted all 3 of those I don't think you have to preorder from wal-mart to get the arena though because last year Wal Mart gave out a cheat code without pre order. This game is really coming along.I read somewhere the roster reveal will be Sept. 8th. Might be true not 100% sure though.

With the game coming out in October instead of November, I would say your chances of getting an early IGN character countdown is highly believable. I know IGN waits at least exactly 30 days before the launch date before starting their countdown.

Interview with JTG about the game...

ESPN has a new article online featuring a Q&A with WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011's designer. In it, he's asked to explain the new mode called WWE Universe that ties story and exhibition modes together. He answered,

"It's pretty complicated to talk about, but you're right, it's like exhibition mode with story elements tied in, and all the while, the game keeps track of everything going on. In years past, you just played exhibition matches, but they were inconsequential. But now, if you turn WWE Universe on, the game will keep track of wins and losses and you'll see various wrestlers move up and down in the rankings. Teams are going to form, allies and enemies are going to form, so now, these exhibition matches actually mean something, and to top it off, you'll see a lot of cool cut scenes that will add to the storyline of the Universe that is playing out around you. There will be a lot of surprises, that's for sure, and we have four locations where you'll see the cut scenes. You'll see cut scenes when the guy is doing his entrance. You'll see a lot of the interference happening inside the ring when your rivals get in on the action. Your enemies might pop up after your match during your victory scene and double team you with chairs. You'll see divas get mixed up in this. You might get carried off in a stretcher. There are just a lot of cool moments that we didn't have before and it really replicates the WWE experience."

IDK why but it feels like it's missing people.During it the winner of the tournament was getting an Interview and He just did one or two word answers in a dull voice 2/3's of them just him saying Sheamus. The reason there is only three Nexus member is because those 3 were in the final three of NXT and maybe they started making it around when it ended. Also, Miz's comments on Shad were hilarious. Shad is outdated as hell.
